Thank you for looking at my classic car. I purchased this car about a year ago from a collector who was a master mechanic and he pulled the motor out and it was modified to nearly 500 horsepower from the factory 365. This is one beautiful original hot rod Lincoln with 11,444 actual miles. Everything else on this car is factory. The story goes that the gentleman who purchased the car didn’t really use it and just left it in the garage for nearly all of the 44 years he owned it. The underneath of this car is clean and solid just like the outside. The passenger window in front does work, but the switch is bad and so in the picture you will see a replacement switch that has not yet been installed. The rear of the car has air shocks to raise or lower the back end of the car.

The car starts fine, runs smoothly down the road, shifts well, and is just a pleasure to be in. I see these cars on eBay all the time but I haven’t really seen very many in this condition, especially with the low actual miles. I took a lot of pictures of the car, and so please check the Photobucket to be familiar with its present condition. I see no cracks in the paint and there were a couple nicks around the car that I got the factory touch up paint applied. I will throw in the bottle of touch-up paint with the purchase. This car is 44 years old but I believe that it’s in fabulous condition for the year.

I am selling this car no-reserve. No reserve means that the last highest bidder wins my car when the auction is over. I am not listing a price, because I am letting all bidders have an opportunity to pay what they believe that the car is worth. I am also selling this car as-is which means that there is no warranty on the car because there is no way that I can guarantee a car that is almost 50 years old. The payment methods on my car include either wire transfer or cash. This car must be paid for within 48 hours of the auction ending. If it is not paid for it will be offered to the highest bidder below your bid.

I will not pay to have the car shipped, but I will assist your shipper with pickup.  I will not accept checks, certified checks, Paypal or deposit. The car must be paid for in full within 48 hours. If you have any questions about the car or would like to come and personally inspect and drive my beautiful car, please call Lou Davis at 216-210-8488. I am located in Wickliffe, OH, just about 15 minutes from Downtown Cleveland. Thank you very much for reading all the information, and good luck bidding.

Is Lincoln MKC cutting into Cadillac SRX sales?

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

The two big American luxury brands of Cadillac and Lincoln are on surprisingly similar paths at the moment with both divisions hoping to redefine themselves and grow popularity. They're still early in the process with no clear winner yet, but things might actually be looking up for Lincoln's latest model, according to a monthly sales analysis from The Motley Fool. It seems, at least early on, that the new MKC crossover might be taking a bite out of the Cadillac SRX's growth.
The MKC launched just a few months ago and has been getting a big marketing push from a series of oft-mocked ads starring the smooth-talking Matthew McConaughey. The luxury CUV has been the popular, new kid on the block with growing sales since its introduction. While smaller than the SRX, the Lincoln starts at a lower price and offers better fuel economy.
Through June, the SRX performed well with sales up over 20 percent on average through June, according to The Motley Fool. However, July and August saw things plummet with year-over-year drops of 7 percent and 37 percent, respectively. It still far outsold the MKC in terms of actual units in a given month, but the Caddy's continued growth has appeared to stagnate.

Never mind the naysayers; Lincoln is worth saving

In the case of Henry Leland, naming his new car brand after the first President he cast a vote for in 1864 seemed a jolly good idea, on paper.
You should always be careful about the name you choose to give your new baby. The power of association can work in many ways, not always positive.

2017 Lincoln Continental reimagined as a coupe

Thu, Jan 21 2016

If nothing else, the production version of the Lincoln Continental has provided ample water-cooler fodder around the office. There are a few camps: the "it took guts to build it" folks giving credit where due on a handsome design with an ambitious interior, and the "MKZ misstep" group haranguing the Motor Company for blowing fancy new styling cues on a lesser beast. And yet, unifying forces exist. We can all agree that these artist renders depicting a Continental sans a pair of doors present a captivating notion. Back in 1939, the original Continental was a two-door. Over time, four doors of various types, including convertibles, infiltrated the lineup. The last time the Continental was on sale, it was a four-door front-driver based on the platform shared with the Mercury Sable and Ford Taurus. Even though the new production Continental, like that penultimate one, is based on a front-drive platform, the execution is much different. As you probably already know, it features a so-far unique 400-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 and an advanced torque-vectoring AWD system, standard. Some neat concept car touches, like the fancy door handles and patented 30-way adjustable seats, made it in. What a two-door would bring to the table is mainly stylistic, emphasizing the long parallel character line in the door with brightwork running under the window that's echoed in the lower door sculpting and chrome strip. It accentuates the car's length, and calls attention to the trim taillights and their interconnecting bar element. A longer door makes for a more elegant transition into the C-pillar. It makes the production Continental, with its blacked-out but still obviously chunky B-pillar, look fussy. We don't expect Lincoln to build a coupe – that may be too wild for a company that doesn't seem completely comfortable with the notion of reinvention – but these renders were just too good not to share.
