I am listing this 1969 Lincoln Mark III for a neighbor.  I will try to to be as accurate as I can in the description and I am happy to answer any questions so please ask before bidding.

This is an original low mileage car, currently the mileage is 57,XXX.  In general it is a very good original car that needs some TLC.  The car had been sitting for a few years and I assisted with getting it running again.

EQUIPMENT & ACCESSORIES - Auto trans, power windows, power seats, power locks, A/C, AM/FM stereo, power antenna, hide away headlights, front power disc brakes, power steering, multiple speed wipers.

BODY - Is in good shape except for some rot that has developed recently in the left rear quarter panel and a couple of small spots on the right hand quarter panel.  There is some bubbling under the vinyl top that I can only guess is rust.  The paint is original however I do believe the left quarter panel may have been painted at some point.  There are some spots of rust starting to come through at the rear bumper.  The remainder of the chrome is in good shape with some pitting.

INTERIOR - Black leather interior in very good condition except for the driver's door armrest.

ENGINE - 460 cubic inch V8, runs good, no smoke, no tapping, no noises in general.  It could use a good tune up and probably a carb rebuild.
TRANSMISSION - C6 Automatic, shifts good, clean fluid.

THE GOOD - Nice original car that runs and drives as is but, needs some work to be in show condition.

THE BAD - Rear mufflers are rotted through, power windows operate slowly, no sound from the radio, power antenna not working, A/C does not blow cold (compressor does not come on), the hide away headlights work but, there must be a leak because they open shortly after turning off the car.  The neutral safety switch needs adjustment, you need to pull the shifter up for the car to crank.

There are MANY, MANY extra parts available for the buyer.

Cars with the worst resale value in 2022

Thu, Nov 10 2022

Car values are all over the map right now. Used vehicles that were worth a small fortune earlier this year are now coming back to Earth, but the new vehicle supply remains tight. Prices are still elevated overall, but some models have seen more severe price drops. Depreciation strikes almost every model, supply constraint or not, though a few vehicles are leading the way. New research from analytics iSeeCars found that a handful of cars depreciated more than 50 percent over five years, with the BMW 7 Series dropping 56.9 percent and an average price cut of $61,923 over that time. The vehicles with the highest depreciation — or worst resale value — over five years: BMW 7 Series: -56.9% Maserati Ghibli: -56.3% Jaguar XF: -54% Infiniti QX80: -52.6% Cadillac Escalade ESV: 52.3% Mercedes-Benz S-Class: 51.9% Lincoln Navigator: -51.9% Audi A6: -51.5% Volvo S90: -51.4% Ford Expedition: -50.7% iSeeCarsÂ’ research showed that midsize trucks, sports cars, and fuel-efficient vehicles were slowest to depreciate over five years, while itÂ’s clear that luxury brands tend to lose value much faster. As iSeeCarsÂ’ Executive Analyst Karl Brauer explained, used buyers donÂ’t value high-end vehiclesÂ’ features as much as the first owners, so resale values tend to be softer. The tech and options that made the cars so expensive and appealing new donÂ’t add the same value on the used market. Read more: Cars with the best resale value Interestingly, electric vehicles also depreciated quite heavily, though they were just short of the abysmal numbers in luxury segments. The Nissan Leaf depreciated most among EVs, dropping by 49.1 percent. The average EV depreciation is 44.2 percent, with the Tesla Model S and Model X sliding in right under the bar at 43.7 and 38.8 percent, respectively. As iSeeCars notes, itÂ’s important to be vigilant when car shopping and not let your emotions win over reason. Shiny new luxury cars look great in the showroom, but you could end up taking a bath when you try selling them a few years later on. Never mind the naysayers; Lincoln is worth saving

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

In the case of Henry Leland, naming his new car brand after the first President he cast a vote for in 1864 seemed a jolly good idea, on paper.
You should always be careful about the name you choose to give your new baby. The power of association can work in many ways, not always positive.

Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy

Sun, 31 Aug 2014

Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).
