Custom Lincoln Continental Convertible Air Ride Suspension on 2040-cars
Simi Valley, California, United States
Up for sale and your consideration is this beautiful Lincoln Continental Convertible which was completely restored 3 years ago. It has less than 1,000 miles put on car since this rebuild. It has been stored in the garage the whole time except for the occasional cruise/ thrill ride around the town with the family. Lot's of ooh's and ahh's when in this car. It turns lots of heads everytime it goes out. There may be some that look like this, but they don't compare. You are welcome to come see it for yourself in Simi Valley, California.
This car has it's original 430 mel motor, completely rebuilt all new and it's transmission was also completely rebuilt. The 430 mel motor is the factory motor before the 460 came out in 1969. Great running, great power motor and always very reliable. The wheels package are custom one off wheels from Mob Steel made by MHT. The wheels are 22" and fit bad ass in the wheel wells. Falken tires, fronts are 265/30/22 and rears are 295/25/22. Brand new condition. CPP 13" front disk brakes and 12" rear disk brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. 4 link rear end control by Air Ride Suspension. Alpine stereo with 2 amps, 2- 12 inch woofers and 2 -10 woofers, sounds AMAZING!! Two new batteries also. Car is Triple Black with a brand new Phantom black top, new black carpet, new custom door panels, white and black. Custom leather seats that match the door panels. Looks beautiful!! New exhaust,
2-1/2 pipes with flow master 3 chamber mufflers at the rear of car so the ride is quiet inside and next to or behind the car it sounds really aggresive. The car was painted 3 1/2 years ago and constantly garaged. It does need some minor touches to car since being stored in the garage and kids in and out of the garage. Minor, nothing major at all. Before this car was restored, there was a little spot of rust in the right rear floor panel which was patched in and repaired. You'd never know it if I didn't tell you. That was the extent of any rust, but it was all done right.
The body
and frame were perfect, it had never been smashed or in an accident of any kind. I want to be upfront about anything so there are no surprises. On the driver side passenger door, there is a small ding from the kids bicycle. Also, the rear bumper left side has a scrape/ scratch on it. See pics. If any pictures of anything are required, please contact me. This car is for sale locally in Simi Valley so I reserve the right to cancel auction at any time if it sells outside of ebay. Do not ask me to end auction early. This car will sell whether local or here on ebay. Reserve is set well below what I have into this phenomenal car. I am an honest person and expect the same in return. Thank you for looking and happy bidding. On Nov-13-13 at 22:54:43 PST, seller added the following information: left rear bumper lower part has a small dent, didn't add that. |

What will the next Presidential limo look like?
Thu, 25 Jul 2013With recent news that the Secret Service has begun soliciting proposals for a new armored limousine, we've been wondering what the next presidential limo might look like. The current machine, nicknamed "The Beast", has a design based on a car that's no longer sold: the Cadillac DTS. If General Motors gets the job again, which wouldn't be a surprise considering the government still owns a chunk of the company, the next limo's shape would likely resemble the new XTS (below, left). But Cadillac hasn't always been the go-to car company for presidential whips.
Lincoln has actually provided far more presidential limousines throughout history than Cadillac. In fact, the first car modified for Commander-in-Chief-carrying duty was a 1939 Lincoln K-Series called "Sunshine Special" used by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the last Lincoln used by a president was a 1989 Town Car ordered for George H.W. Bush. If President Obama wanted a Lincoln today, it would likely be an amalgam of the MKS sedan and MKT crossover, as illustrated above.
And what about Chrysler? The only record we could find of a President favoring the Pentastar is Nixon, who reportedly ordered two limos from the company during his administration in the '70s, and then another one, known today as the "K-Car limo," in the '80s after he left office. Obama, however, has a personal - if modest - connection to Chryslers, having owned a 300 himself before he took office. A 300-based Beast (above, right) would certainly earn the U.S. some style points.
2016 Lincoln MKX images and details hit the web
Sat, Jan 10 2015Well, what do we have here? In what we're assuming is an accidental leak, a live URL from Lincoln Canada has been brought to our attention, and it's chock full of information on a new 2016 Lincoln MKX that we figure will most likely see an introduction at the Detroit Auto Show right around the corner. "Inspired by airplane design," says Lincoln, we see a good bit of the smaller MKC in the design of the next MKX, and that's a good thing. We note HID lights with LED accents, a Panoramic Vista Roof, a hands-free power liftgate and a 360-degree camera mounted behind the front Lincoln emblem as tasty exterior details to look forward to. Inside is what appears to be a pretty darn beautiful cabin, with available Bridge of Weir leather seats with optional heating and cooling, plus 22-way adjustability. Open-pore wood in either walnut swirl of olive ash looks classy, and the newly available Revel audio with 13 or optionally 19 speakers ought to work well with the car's active noise control to provide a serene driving experience. We're not entirely sure what infotainment system the 2016 Lincoln MKX will boast, but the images appear to show a version of the much-maligned MyLincoln Touch interface, and not the upcoming Sync 3, although at least there is more physical switchgear for the HVAC, as on the MKC. As far as the vehicle's engine and chassis, we see mention of an available twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost, but there's no power rating just yet – we know it will be more than 300 horsepower, but how much more is still unknown. There's no mention of the 2016 MKX's transmission, which makes us think it will probably offer the same six-speed unit as the Ford Edge. On the plus side, there will be adaptive steering to go along with three driving modes – Normal, Comfort and Sport. Lincoln Drive Control with continuously controlled damping also sounds beneficial. That's all we know so far, but we're looking forward to getting all the details, hopefully in just a few days, since the vehicle is said to be hitting showrooms in the summer of 2015. In the meantime, check out the image gallery above, and feel free to read a lengthy discussion about the leak at the FordInsideNews.com forum. Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.
