I am selling the car because I found another car part way through repairing this one. My sister had wanted to ride in this one to her wedding and when I could not get this one done, I did the crazy thing and bought the other one to surprise her. Now I have two cars! I now need to sell this car.
This is the Entourage Car. This is the Kennedy car. I get it all the time in my red car. Its a blast to drive and makes people of all ages smile and wave. If you ever wanted a fun classic car to cruise around in, the Lincoln Continental Convertible is it! I would love to see this car back on the road but I cannot afford two cars. These cars are very sought after and as the numbers dwindle, they quickly becoming very rare. The Continental community is a close one and there are some specialists keeping them alive. The car needs someone to finish her. I have taken care of the difficult (and costly) part getting the top to work with the help of a specialist and now all it needs is for someone to finish off the interior, paint and body. These things can be done by most any interior and/or paint shop and any other mechanical parts are available at both AutoZone and Napa. These cars, other than the top, are simple to work on.

The images are of my 1967 Lincoln Continental Convertible. I bought it from a guy in Arizona to restore to a fun driver. I wanted a car that had not been previously attempted to restore so that I would not need to go behind someone else's work. I wanted a original and dry car so I found this one out west. The car is loaded with options. The passenger seat has an adjustable headrest. The car came with AC and cruise control options. It also has the automatic headlight dimmer. The front quarter windows are also powered and working. These are rare options on these cars.
The engine starts and runs fine. I have replaced the original water pump, plugs and wires.
I stripped the original paint off the car and had it sprayed in a sealer primer while I performed the mechanical work on it.
I got the car and the top was not working. It was folded up in the trunk for the last 20 years. John Cashman is THE expert in these cars and the top specialist. He came by and went through all the mechanics of the top. We installed all new rear cylinders and cylinder lines, all the window switches, the pivot arm on the boot lid and cleaned and greased every motor and track. I also had him install a bootlid turbo motor so that the trunk lid cover goes up much faster. He got everything on the top and windows working as it should be. He even adjusted the rear windows so that they drop 6 inches when the rear doors are opened (Not many people even know that these cars are supposed to do this because it does not work on most cars). The mechanics of the top are in working order. The top is original and has shrunk and become brittle with age. Here is a video so that you can see it all working:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9iKS-gGoqQ
I also had him replace the cigarette lighters in each door, the key surround bezels, new glove box liner, newer Continental emblems on the rear quarters, new 66 chrome rear view mirror, glove box liner, new matching door panels scres and cruise control illumination button. I also got a new hood emblem.
The car was hit in the back and the trunk lid was replaced by the previous owner. When I got the car here, I had the body shop pull the car to straighten it to specs. The passenger side rear quarter panel has a slight outward bow to it and needs to be pushed back in to make a straight side to make it perfect or can be straightened to make it drivable, depends on how perfect you want it to be.
Thank you for taking the time to look and let me know if you are interested.

2015 Lincoln MKC aims to rejuvenate the brand... again
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Ford is slowly but surely attempting to revitalize the Lincoln brand, with the new MKZ sedan pointing the way forward for the Blue Oval's struggling luxury division. Here at the LA Auto Show, Lincoln is showing the next new product that aims to give the brand new life, the 2015 MKC crossover.
The MKC is based on the trusty Ford Escape, but this is far more than just a rebadge job. Lincoln has used completely new sheetmetal here, with the brand's familiar split-wing grille front and center, and a classy, wraparound tailgate with super slim taillamps that span the width of the hatchback. It's one of the better applications of Lincoln's new design language we've seen thus far, and the end result is a taut-looking crossover that is at the same time both modern and luxurious-looking.
Further differentiating itself from the Escape, the MKC packs an all-new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, good for 275 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. (On the base end, Ford's 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft is available.) The MKC also uses a new Continuously Controlled Damping adaptive suspension, and is available with both front- and all-wheel drive.
Lincoln revival bypasses rear-wheel drive for now
Wed, Nov 25 2015Ford execs had the axe ready for Lincoln just a few years ago, but the luxury marque is on a hot streak these days. Annual sales are up 7.5 percent through October, and the recently unveiled, refreshed 2017 MKZ previews the company's improved styling. In a great piece about the brand's growth strategy, Automotive News finds the division's bosses want to focus on the core vehicles before taking a big step and building a rear-wheel drive niche model. "Luxury coupes and sports cars are not the first place we need to go," Global Lincoln Director Matt VanDyke said in the story. The division's bosses want to use the updated MKZ as an opportunity to distance Lincoln's identity from Ford, and the powertrain will carry the 3.0T badge rather than Ford's EcoBoost name as part of that approach. The model also injects excitement into the range thanks to an all-wheel drive version with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 400 horsepower and an optional Driver's Package with a torque-vectoring rear differential. Lincoln will launch at least three new models by 2020, too. One of those will be the production Continental that will reportedly debut at the Detroit Auto Show. The company will also allegedly revive the Aviator to fit below the Navigator. The third vehicle remains a mystery but likely isn't a compact. Automotive News' story further examines the previously languishing brand's work to climb up the luxury ranks in the US. It's well worth a read. Related Video:
Ford recalls 83k Taurus and crossover models for halfshaft issue
Fri, 15 Aug 2014Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for some 83,250 vehicles in the US, for an issue with halfshafts. More specifically a "halfshaft retention circlip" might not have been properly installed on affected vehicles, with the result being halfshafts that may move improperly or disengage completely from the linkshaft while driving. The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of getting this checked.
Should the halfshaft disengage, a few troubling things could happen. If it occurs while driving, power from the engine will no longer be transmitted to the wheels. And, if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied after disengagement of the circlip, vehicles may roll away even if they're transmissions have been placed in "Park."
Affected vehicles are as follows: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers from model years 2012 to 2014; Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS sedans from model years 2013 to 2014; Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles from model years 2013 to 2014.
