4 Door, Deep Blue Looks Black, New Interior And Paint on 2040-cars
Newton, North Carolina, United States
You are bidding on a 1964 Lincoln this is a 3 owner car with me being the third owner as I'm told. I bought it around 2 years ago because it was in good original shape, Body only had one area that I found any rust on when my shop painted it, it was a very light blue but I like black, it is a very dark blue with slight metallic looks black. I also did the interior white, redid the chrome where needed on the bumpers. Engine runs good, new brake booster. New tires and spoke rims, still waiting on centers they were backordered. Selling due to having to downsize on the cars I have, it is kept at this time in a garage but will have to get it out soon. The gas gauge does not work needs new sending unit I guess, gas tank needs flushing, brakes work great, if I kept I would install new shocks. I have done a lot of work on this car but needs a little bit more but you can drive while you work on it. For all the work done and solidness of the car my reserve is low but not giving it away. Thanks |

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy
Tue, 07 May 2013With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.

NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.
