 1979 Lincoln Continental Collectors Series

This is a very rare car.  There are not many of these models left.

Has the premium option package.  Power everything as well as a factory 8-track/ CB radio that makes this car even rarer!  Car even comes with an after-market security system that will not allow car to start unless engaged.

Exterior is in great condition. The chrome shines.  There are a few minor places of rust and a small dent here and there that could easily be fixed. Car cleans up nice.  After fixing the small body items and professional detail this car could be a show winner!  Look at pictures and see for yourself!

Interior is in excellent shape as well.  There is only one small hole on the drivers seat that could easily be repaired.  The trunk is extremely clean and even has spare tire storage.  Again, please look at the pics of this awesome car! Don't forget to zoom in!

Car is in good mechanical condition. No leaks. Clean and dry underneath. I just drove this car last week on a trip that was over 100 miles and car rides very smooth and has tons of power.  It sails along and rides...well...like a Lincoln!  The mileage will be more than shown above because I am still driving this car every few days.  Definitely fun to drive.  I get comments everywhere I go!  There are a few minor repairs that will need to be done to make the car completely functional.  The fuse box will need to be replaced as some of the circuits have been temporarily disabled and others have been updated to new ATC blade fuse types instead of the old glass style.  It has been less than 1000 miles since the last oil change! The engine runs good and has plenty of power but could use a tune-up to get it running excellent.  The right side exhaust manifold is leaking and makes some noise. The flip down headlight covers are vacuum operated and need a solenoid/line replaced to operate properly.   Once these minor repairs are taken care of, you will have a fully functioning show winning car!!!

Please email me or call me at 443-398-0174 with ANY questions or to schedule to view the car and take it for a test drive!!!  Thanks again and HAPPY BIDDING!!

Lincoln to resurrect old nameplates for China?

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

Judging by the success that many luxury automakers are currently experiencing in China, it's no surprise that Lincoln plans to take advantage of the situation by peddling its wares across the Pacific. Lincoln will open its first Chinese dealership next year, but potential buyers there won't be mucking through the same alphabet soup of car names found in American showrooms. USA Today reports that Ford's luxury car division could revert back to legacy names (like Continental and Zephyr) in China while keeping the MK_ names here in North America.
In speaking to Ford exec Jim Farley during the LA Auto Show, USA Today says that Lincoln could switch its naming structure as models are refreshed. Farley didn't confirm that the naming revamp would be a China-only decision, but article leaves little hope that American buyers will get to see the return of classic names anytime soon.
Why would Ford rehash old Lincoln names for China only? Buyers there seem to have a better historical associations with the nameplates than in the US. Chinese also still hold Lincoln in high regard, associating the marque with use by prominent government officials.

Lincoln debuts MKC ads starring Matthew McConaughey

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

Lincoln is making the decisive commitment that it wants to improve its brand perception going forward. It can't be cheap to hire A-list talent like Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and director Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for Drive, for its new ad campaign for the 2015 MKC crossover, but the company is showing that it's serious about the new vehicle and its future. The first three of these five commercials are just hitting YouTube, and they begin airing on television on September 6.
The Live in Your Moment campaign is all about Lincoln trying to sell not just the MKC to customers but also explain the brand's philosophy. It's one of the oldest luxury automakers around, but hasn't exactly had a glorious history, especially recently. Based on these first ads, we can see that there's a definite focus on philosophizing rather than focusing on the crossover. At times, McConaughey seems just a mustache and a mangled beer can away from reprising his role from True Detective.
The first ad (above) is simply titled Intro and sets the mood and concept for the whole campaign. Bull has McConaughey talking to a longhorn in the middle of a road, and I Just Like It has him explaining his affinity for the brand. Lincoln's full release is available below, and you can view the other ads by flipping through the playlist in the video player above.

Lincoln MKX Concept goes for the gold in Beijing

Sun, 20 Apr 2014

We've now seen the Lincoln MKX Concept in the metal, and we've shot it with the lenses of our own DSLR cameras. And we have to say, our opinion of the concept's design language has improved over our initial reaction. Yes, it's clear that this MKX shares its underpinnings with those of the Ford Edge Concept that we saw in LA, but the changes made by Lincoln stylists are a welcome departure from the angular lines of its corporate cousin from The Blue Oval.
We like the subtlety of the MKX Concept's front fascia, and the lighting elements both front and rear lend a luxurious quality to the crossover's typical two-box proportions. When combined with the smaller MKC that was shown in production form late last year, it's clear to see that Lincoln has a specific design direction that at least seems visually capable of setting it apart from the Ford models with which the brand shares its platforms. Here's hoping there are some Lincoln-specific upgrades underhood...
Have a look at our image gallery of live photos from Beijing above, reread the press release below, and feel free to let us know what you think.
