1974 Lincoln Continental Mark Iv on 2040-cars

I am selling a big beautiful 1974 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. The car is white, with the brown vinyl top. The car is a coupe, has a automatic transmission and the big 460 cubic inch (7.5 L) Ford Big Block engine. The engine runs very strong and sounds great. All four tires are brand new Hankook white walls which look great on the car. The front shocks are brand new as well, giving this big car a super smooth ride.

The U-Joint connection between the drive-shaft and the transmission recently broke, and will need to be repaired before the car can be driven anywhere

The interior has been recently restored and has big beautiful new leather seats, a new carpet, and a new headliner. The top of the dash has also been restored. These interior components are in what is basically brand new condition, and like any Lincoln, they are big and extremely comfortable. The steering wheel still needs to be restored, but the horn does work. So no safety concerns with this big girl.

The vehicle electronics work very well, especially considering the age of this car. The headlights, tail lights, and turn signals work all the way around. The high beams work, and the "Auto-Dimming" feature that originally came with this car (automatically dims headlights when opposing traffic comes towards you) still works! The controls for the cruise control are missing from the steering wheel, so I'm not sure if the cruise would function or not. The two front huge power windows still go up and down with no problem. The tiny rear windows do not go down. The big power seats still work, as does the power antenna. The stereo looks like it was replaced sometime in the 1990's... as there is a tape deck present. The stereo does not work, so its ready for you to install your own replacement stereo.

The body is in very good shape. I'm assuming the car was repainted sometime in the last 10 years or so. It does have some tiny scratches here and there, but no dents or obvious damage. There is a small quarter sized section of damaged paint in the middle of the hood that is starting to rust. The frame is very solid.

The trunk is HUGE, and comes with a full size spare tire.

Please check out the pictures and let me know if you have any questions.

I have a clear title for the car.

Lincoln drops MKX base price to $38,995

Mon, Jun 22 2015

Lincoln is giving the 2016 MKX a major improvement in style and tech, and is introducing the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 as an option for the luxury crossover. While all of those changes are significant, the cost might be just as enticing to get customers checking out the new generation. The base price for 2016 falls to $38,995, after an $895 destination charge on all models, compared to $39,795 for the 2015. At this time, there are three trim levels listed on Lincoln's site, but a Black Label version is supposed to come along later to add a bit more opulence. Above the base Premiere trim, the Select model starts at $42,285, and adds features like LED running lights, folding and heated mirrors, leather seats, and a power hatch. Spending $46,050 brings buyers to the Reserve trim with upgrades including a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels, navigation, adaptive headlights, and heated seats. There are a huge number of individual options available, including full LED headlights and a safety suite of tech. Opting for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost pushes the price of any trim up an extra $2,000, and checking the box for all-wheel drive brings with it an added $2,495. As ever, you can spec one out yourself on the official configurator here.

Lincoln's second, more traditional, Super Bowl commercial

Sat, 02 Feb 2013

For its second Super Bowl commercial, Lincoln Motor Company has stepped away from the Max Ernst-ian surrealism of the "Steer the Script" spot. No Germans, no turtles, no aliens nor alpacas this time, just a 30-second run through the ways in which Lincoln sees the 2013 MKZ as a rebirth of the brand and everything a luxury consumer would want.
The kind of traditional spot that could run any time of year, the only question we had after watching it was: "Wait - was that... Abraham Lincoln?" Along with the press release from Lincoln, you can view the spot below.
If you want a deeper look and criticism into Lincoln's "Steer The Script," ad, have a read of AOL Autos' column: Lincoln's Super Bowl Ad is a Flop, written by Pete Bigelow.

2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost

A Bench-Warmer In Waiting
I hail from Cleveland, and that means I'm familiar with sports franchises that are always falling short of championships. The Indians, the Browns, the Cavs - they've all come close, but being a resident of C-Town means learning to appreciate the effort more than a reward that never seems to come. So I can appreciate the situation in which Lincoln finds itself today, one where the past is full of repeated attempts to be competitive, and looming on the future's horizon is the next hope on which everything hinges.
That next hope for Lincoln is not the car you see here, but rather the smaller, all-new 2013 MKZ sedan. Like LeBron James entering Gund Arena for the first time, the MKZ will enter dealerships this fall as the brand's chosen savior, markedly more stylish, advanced and desirable than anything offered by Lincoln in recent memory. And that would make this car, the 2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost, one of the other 20 guys whose names I can't remember who played alongside LeBron during his rookie season.
