1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III
Offered for sale is this very rare 1969 Lincoln. The Continental Mark III 2 door hardtop Luxury Coupe was the top model for 1969. It is fairly hard to find one that is still in good to very good condition like this one. This is a two owner automobile (technically three as the original owner - an older gentleman, who purchased the car new at the Kumpf Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Denver in 1969 did donate it to a local museum from which I purchased it sometime later). The body is straight and the exterior is in pretty good condition, but the paint (one repaint) looks a little tired and does not show as well as it could or should. There are a few minor blemishes, scratches, etc. and a couple of small rust spots at/near the bottom of the car. A good detail/buffing should really help in getting it to look great. The bumpers, chrome, stainless trim, etc. are in very good to great condition. The windshield and glass are in great condition. The vinyl top was replaced by the previous owner (I guess her wanted to keep the car in the best condition possible). The car is nicely appointed with the original vinyl and cloth interior which is in very good if not great condition. The headliner, carpet and rubber mats are in very good condition. Again, a good detail job will go a long way to reviving this beautiful interior. The dash looks great except for one 2-3" crack on the right side of the steering wheel. The car has AC and power everything. It has the 460 engine and automatic transmission, a new fuel pump was installed about a year ago. The car starts, runs and drives very well and is a pleasure to drive. It is not perfect by any means as it is an older automobile, but it will make a very nice driver or cruiser with only a minimal amount of TLC. It has only 74,000 miles showing on the odomoter. This is your chance to own a legendary automobile which has some of the best styling ever designed.
Affordable and attractively priced with a low and very reasonable reserve, this car will be a very smart buy for anyone. You are welcome to come and inspect the car in person. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. A $520 non-refundable deposit is due immediately upon the end of the aution by the winning bidder via PayPal. The remaining balance is payable within 48 hours after the end of the auction via Bank Wire. The Buyer is responsible for all transportation arrangements and costs to their location. The car is sold as-is, with no warranty/guarantee. Sale is final, no return or refund. The car must be picked up within seven to ten days after the end of the auction.
Thank you for looking and happy bidding!

Lincoln Chauffeur service will drive you around and do your shopping
Wed, Apr 12 2017Lincoln is launching a unique service in Miami this year called Lincoln Chauffeur, and it does exactly what you'd expect. Any Lincoln owner can request someone via an app to come to their house and drive him or her wherever they'd like. That driver will then drive the car back. Lincoln pointed out this will allow other household members to use the car, and even helps avoid having to pay for parking when going to the airport. A representative said that a driver could be sent to a bar or restaurant to pick up a car left in favor of a cab after drinking. In addition to driving you to a location, the driver can also go and fill up your Lincoln with fuel and run other errands. Need some groceries? Your Lincoln driver can do that. And the Lincoln drivers are employed and vetted by Lincoln. If you find a driver you like, you can also request that person and Lincoln will try to accommodate your request. The service is currently in the pilot stage and only available in Miami. The next city that will get access to the service is San Diego. However, the plan is to continue expanding. It's also available for all Lincoln owners, new and old, not just members of Lincoln Black Label. Buyers of any new Lincoln will be given the equivalent of eight hours free in the service. This is a significant perk, since Lincoln said the estimated cost is $30 per hour of use at the current pilot pricing. Related Video:
Lincoln poised to double MKZ Hybrid production
Thu, 18 Jul 2013The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has been something of a hit for Ford since the beginning, exceeding the company's modest projected 15-percent take rate for more than two years (we say "modest" because that still means an overwhelming majority of Lincoln customers are passing up on the gas-electric powertrain even though it costs the same as the standard model). Either way, Lincoln builds 700 MKZ Hybrids at its plant in Mexico each month, but has sold 715 of them in each of the past three months. That's why, according to a report in The Detroit News, when the restyled 2014 MKZ Hybrid arrives (non-hybrid pictured), Ford is doubling production compared to 2013. Instead of the hybrid model being 20 percent of production, the new hybrid will make up 40 percent.
Ford is doing well with hybrids in general - its portion of the electrified vehicle segment jumping 12 points in a single year to 16 percent. Assuming Ford doesn't change the pricing strategy (along with the changes Ford is making to calibration to improve fuel economy), the sedan could continue to "[show] other luxury hybrids how it's done" when it goes on sale later this year.
How the Lincoln Continental Concept almost wasn't
Mon, Mar 30 2015That Lincoln Continental Concept that everyone is so excited about? It almost didn't happen. Speaking at the private reveal event for the concept yesterday, Ford Motor Company CEO Mark Fields revealed that when the design team started working on the vehicle that eventually became the Continental, the designers thought it was just another full-size luxury concept, and were turning in ideas to match. The problem, Fields said, is that this was an important vehicle to get right. "A full-size luxury sedan for a luxury brand is a very important marker that, I think, sets the beat for the brand and it creates a lot of awareness and favorability if you do it right," he said. "As we were designing this concept ... we reviewed with the designers the themes. The first couple of themes the team came with really didn't do it for us because we want to make sure that every vehicle that we bring out with Lincoln moves the brand forwards in a big way. So we went through the first couple of them and we really didn't get that kind of 'oomph' in the pit of our stomach." The team was stuck with an upcoming debut and nothing exciting to show for it, until the past was brought into the present. "In one of the design reviews, we were looking around at everyone and we mentioned, you know what, why don't we call this the Continental Concept? And I have to tell you, the body language was unbelievable in the design showroom. Everybody's head snapped up and you could see everybody's eyes widen and they started nodding and they said, 'now we get it.'" Aside from the Navigator, every vehicle Lincoln currently sells is simply named a trio of letters that start with M and K. Fields knew that the large luxury segment sedan is important for a company like Lincoln, with about 1.8 million units sold last year and an expected growth to around 2 million units by the end of the decade, he said. "When you think about where that growth is coming from, it's still a substantial segment here in the US, it's a very substantial segment and even more substantial segment in China. As a matter of fact, that segment grew by 17 percent last year and China is the largest market for full-size luxury sedans." Given the positive reaction to the Continental Concept thus far, bringing the name back from the dead might be just the thing Lincoln needed.
