For sale is a 1967 Lincoln Continental Convertible. This car is sold as is and the winning bidder assumes all responsibilities. This car was purchased by me on leave from my second tour back in 2005 and has been garage kept since then and to my knowledge, prior to and it's entire life. Due to a new baby in our life I have finally decided to part with this gift to myself for making it out of Iraq. The car was restored prior to my purchase and has roughly ten thousand dollars invested into it, which, to my understanding, largely went to the operation of the convertible mechanism. Currently all parts of that mechanism work, save for one, the hydraulic pump for the rear deck lid. Included in the sale of the vehicle is a brand new pump recently purchased. I am capable of doing many car repairs, but am unwilling to attempt to work on that system for fear of breaking anything. There are a few imperfections throughout on the paint and a tiny piece of the front right trim is missing up near the bumper, and that is visible in the picture of that angle. The AC system also needs to be charged to blow cold air and the engine requires lead additive to run without knocking. Lastly, the rear driver side gas tank convertible top key mechanism is not working. All these imperfections aside, this car, as clearly visible in the included pictures is immaculate and a real head turner and with a little bit of attention to detail could be a trophy winning 100 point show car. The power options on the car all work to include the rear windows that go down slightly upon entering to allow clearance with the top. The doors all line up correctly to new clackers and the body is devoid of rust save for some minor surface patina in a few places underneath. The car also comes equipped with a custom sound system of Boston SL 60 speakers and an SL 80 Equalizer as well as Kenwood Excelon head unit that has an Ipod attachment. I had the sound system professionally installed with careful attention paid to not affecting the original interior in any way, so that if you so desire you can remove the system entirely and bring everything back to stock. The system itself, custom job and components was close to two thousand dollars total but considering the situation with the hydraulic pump I have not in any way included that into the price of the car. The vehicle was recently inspected by Travis' Auto in Suffolk, VA and had a new heater core installed to help with the engine cooling issues, but as with everything else on this car, it is almost fifty years old and prone to temperament. Let these caveats not deter you from the fact that this is a gorgeous, extremely rare car that is truly one of a kind. These cars are iconic, with their "suicide doors" and yacht-like feel. It is a joy to drive, always gets thumbs ups, and with a little bit of work would most certainly win every local car show you bring it to and then some. I am happy to work with the winning buyer to get this car to its finally destination. Please send me any questions or requests for more information and I will answer them as quickly and completely as possible. Good luck!

Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator
Wed, Nov 8 2017General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:
Is Lincoln MKC cutting into Cadillac SRX sales?
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The two big American luxury brands of Cadillac and Lincoln are on surprisingly similar paths at the moment with both divisions hoping to redefine themselves and grow popularity. They're still early in the process with no clear winner yet, but things might actually be looking up for Lincoln's latest model, according to a monthly sales analysis from The Motley Fool. It seems, at least early on, that the new MKC crossover might be taking a bite out of the Cadillac SRX's growth.
The MKC launched just a few months ago and has been getting a big marketing push from a series of oft-mocked ads starring the smooth-talking Matthew McConaughey. The luxury CUV has been the popular, new kid on the block with growing sales since its introduction. While smaller than the SRX, the Lincoln starts at a lower price and offers better fuel economy.
Through June, the SRX performed well with sales up over 20 percent on average through June, according to The Motley Fool. However, July and August saw things plummet with year-over-year drops of 7 percent and 37 percent, respectively. It still far outsold the MKC in terms of actual units in a given month, but the Caddy's continued growth has appeared to stagnate.
2017 Lincoln Continental pricing undercuts Cadillac CT6
Wed, Apr 13 2016For 40,000 people interested in purchasing a new Lincoln Continental, today is the day they've been waiting for. We have the full and complete list of prices and optional extras for the luxury brand's big, new sedan. The Continental will be offered in four trims – Premiere, Select, Reserve, and Black Label. The Premiere starts at $45,485 (including $925 in destination pricing), while the Select kicks off at $48,440. Speaking of the Select, the base 3.7-liter V6 can be swapped for a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, if you've got $2,250 to burn, driving the price up to $50,690. Going to the Reserve gets you more kit and the 2.7-liter comes standard, but the price increases to $54,840. Finally, the base Black Label starts at $63,840. In the case of both the high-end trims, Lincoln will let you upgrade to the eagerly anticipated 400-horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 for $3,265. All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option regardless of trim or engine. Standalone options include Lincoln's "Perfect Position" seats, a $1,500 feature that adds 30-way adjustability. It's easy to drive those prices up, of course. Lincoln is offering five options packages, spread across the Select, Reserve, and Black Label trims. The Select Plus (blind-spot monitoring and Sync 3) adds $1,255 to the price of the Select. The $695 Climate Pack (automatic high beams, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and rain sensing wipers) and $3,105 Technology Pack (360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, Enhanced Active Park Assist, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning) can be added to the Select, Reserve, and Black Label. The $4,300 Rear-Seat Pack (heated, cooled, and multi-contour rear seats, inflatable rear belts, and a panoramic sunroof) will pamper backseat passengers on the high-end Reserve and Black Label, while the $5,000 Luxury Package will add LED headlamps and a 19-speaker Revel stereo to the Reserve trim. Standalone options include Lincoln's "Perfect Position" seats, a $1,500 feature that adds 30-way adjustability. That's just silly. More common features include a $1,130 Revel stereo, a $1,750 panoramic sunroof, $750 20-inch wheels, and a $335 CD player. So yeah, don't expect many of those base prices to make it to the showroom without some swelling. By our math, the Conti tops out at a cool $82,400. Lincoln says it's big target for the Conti is Audi A6, and its pricing matches up neatly with that car. The front-drive 2.0-liter turbocharged A6 Premium starts at $47,125.
