1966 Lincoln Continental Base 7.6l on 2040-cars
Cape Coral, Florida, United States
This is a true barn find! This car was originally a California car, no rest, extremely solid chassis. Car was purchased by a Michigan collector in the late 70's and has spent the last 30+ years stored with his collection. It was purchased by the current owner and transported to SW Florida where a painstaking mechanical restoration was performed over a 6 month period. The body, paint, and interior appears as we purchased it. At some point in the past the exterior color was changed to the current Black as seen. This car shows and drives excellent. It does have some dings and scratches (minor) as any 48 year old vehicle should have. The current owner has taken the time to make sure all mechanical items were of sound condition and could be driven now as a daily driver. The following items have been replaced, rebuilt, or refurbished: Original 462 C1 V-8 has had new heads including valve job, manifolds and water pump replaced. Fuel system has been epoxy coated with new fuel lines and new Elderbrock carburetor, mechanical fuel pump as well as aux, electric fuel pump installed. Brake system has had complete brake job, rebuild of all components including front calibers. Single stage master cylinder has been replaced with duel stage including proportioning valve and new brake lines. Brake booster has also been replaced. Steering has had the steering box rebuilt and resealed including new power steering lines. Suspension has had ball joints and pitman replaced. Exhaust system has been replaced with a custom 2 1/2" dual Flowmaster system (this sounds great!) Electrical systems include many new switches, starter, wiring and horns etc. Air conditioning system has been gone through and blows ice cold. New 20" Boss wheels with new rubber as shown in photo's (original wheels and hub caps). This car is fully equipped and fun to drive. Options included on the vehicle, PW Steering, Brakes, Automatic, Power windows, Power locks (non functioning), 6 way Power seat, AC, intermittent wipers, Original AM Stereo 8 track, Power antenna (still works!). This car is amazing to drive and gets looks wherever it goes. A real conversation piece!

Ford Mustang, F-150, Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator recalled
Wed, Apr 27 2016The Basics: Ford will recall 201,900 examples of the 2011-2012 F-150, 2012 Expedition, 2012 Mustang, and 2012 Lincoln Navigator. The affected vehicles have the 6R80 transmission. Of the total, there are 84,000 of them in the United States and 17,900 in Canada. The Problem: The output speed sensor on the vehicle's transmission lead frame can force the gearbox to downshift into first gear. If this happens at high speed, it could cause the rear tires to slide or lock up. Injuries/Deaths: There are no reported injuries, but Ford know of three accidents related to this problem. The Fix: Dealers will update the powertrain control module software to eliminate the problem, and they'll also replace the transmission lead frame. If You Own One: Ford will begin notifying affected customers by mail on May 23. Details are as follows: Ford issues safety recall and customer satisfaction program for certain 2011-2012 Ford F-150, and 2012 Ford Expedition, Ford Mustang and Lincoln Navigator vehicles in North America to update powertrain control module software and inspect for certain diagnostic trouble codes Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 202,000 2011-2012 Ford F-150, and 2012 Ford Expedition, Ford Mustang and Lincoln Navigator vehicles for a potential issue with the output speed sensor on the vehicle's transmission lead frame. Under certain conditions, the transmission controls could force a temporary downshift into first gear. Depending on the speed of the vehicle at the time of the downshift, the driver could experience an abrupt speed reduction that could cause the rear tires to slide or lock up. This condition could result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford is aware of three reports of accidents and no injuries related to this condition. Affected vehicles are equipped with a 6R80 transmission and include certain 2011-2012 Ford F-150 vehicles built at Dearborn Truck Plant and Kansas City Assembly Plant, Aug. 19, 2011 through March 9, 2012; 2012 Ford Expedition vehicles built at Kentucky Truck Plant, Aug. 19, 2011 through Dec. 19, 2011; Ford Mustang vehicles built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, Aug. 19, 2011 through Feb.
10 best new car deals in late September 2021
Wed, Sep 29 2021New car sales were drastically affected in 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but things started to show signs of recovery toward the end of the year before really coming on strong in the early months of 2021. Now there's an ongoing shortage of microchips causing a great deal of pricing fluctuation and a limited supply of certain vehicles. That doesn't mean there aren't still great deals on new cars, though. Using data provided by TrueCar, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best automotive deals for September 2021. WeÂ’ve noted the original MSRP, the average transaction price, and the total savings in both dollars and as a percentage of the original sticker price. Basically, weÂ’ve done all the hard work for you! So now, all you need to do is compare deals, go on a few test drives, and maybe drive away in a great car (and an even better bargain).
Ford recalls 1.3 million Fusions, MKZs: Steering wheels could come off
Wed, Mar 14 2018When driving a car, the steering wheel is only expected to move in a rotational fashion, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. When it moves in some other direction, something is wrong, and when it moves the wrong way enough that it is no longer attached to the steering column, that's a really, really bad thing. And apparently, according to a recall issued by Ford, there are over 1.3 million Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs that are at risk of this happening. And at least two accidents and one injury have been attributed to the issue. Ford says the problem is that the steering wheel bolt that keeps the wheel attached to the column might not provide enough torque, resulting in the bolt slowly loosening and working its way off the column. The good news is that the fix is really simple. Ford will install a larger bolt with more threads along with a larger nylon patch to keep it all locked down. The fix is completely free to owners. Cars affected by the recall include 2014 to 2017 Fusions built built at the Flat Rock plant in Michigan between August 6, 2013, and February 29, 2016. Model year 2014-2018 Fusions and MKZs built at the Hermosillo factory in Mexico are also affected. So if you have one of those sedans, please get in touch with your local dealer to have the issue addressed. Related Video:
