1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible --ac -- Rust Free --- California Survivor on 2040-cars
Sonoma, California, United States
1965 Lincoln Continental ConvertibleRust Free, California Survivor......please be patient while the many photos load.....Survivor Class 1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible for sale in Sonoma California. 2-Owner California Car. Originally triple black then repainted by it's original owner shortly after purchasing as he thought the car was too "hot" in black. Great, functional and usable suicide door Lincoln with an absolutely rust-free body. An excellent candidate to enjoy now and restore later, yet worthy of a complete, proper transformation back to new condition. So few still exist in this unmolested, original condition. Car starts; runs and drives well with good brakes and decent suspension. It has an exhaust leak and may require mufflers soon. Working lights, horn, blinkers, power windows (right front works but needs adjustment). Controller on left rear door (drops when opening) is inoperable but the right side works fine. Clean glove-box, power antenna and stock radio bypassed to facilitate an aftermarket stereo, working heating system (AC not blowing cold), nice, working top. Interior is presentable with clean door panels and rugs with comfortable, operational power seat and nice dash without cracking. Nice, original, rust free classic Continental convertible that should be a relatively easy project and worth significantly more as these rare luxury vessels continue to rise in value. Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
Matthew McConaughey dusts off his Lincoln Lawyer jacket [w/videos]
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Alright, alright, alright. Easygoing Texan Matthew McConaughey has enjoyed a career renaissance recently with critically acclaimed roles in Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective, and the actor has just signed a multi-year deal with Lincoln to become the luxury brand's spokesperson. The first ads starring McConaughey should hit televisions and the internet soon.
McConaughey's campaign has his pitching starting out with the company's pivotal new 2015 Lincoln MKC compact crossover. "Lincoln is an iconic, American brand and I like where they are heading with their transformation," he said in the announcement of the deal. The appears to be really throwing some money into these ads, too. Not only has it hired A-list talent in front of the camera, Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for Drive, is directing the spots.
Of course, this won't be McConaughey's first noteworthy ride in a Lincoln. Back in 2011, he starred in The Lincoln Lawyer, a legal thriller about at attorney would did business out of a 1980s Town Car. The MKC should certainly prove to be a much better driver than that.
