This is a 1963 Lincoln Continental with 41k on the clock. Burgundy Frost Metallic exterior with Rose Beige cloth interior. Its a rare non AC car, vacuum power locks, power windows(intermittent), power vent windows, power steering, power seat, and power antenna(intermittent). Everything works great except for the windows and antenna they work when they want presumably from bad switches. The car has been freshly tuned up, the carburetor has been rebuilt, and new brake shoes/hardware installed at all four corners. (left front drum appears to be an aluminum unit from a T Bird). Other then that and a good wash she is exactly as she was found including the biased ply tires. I'm currently driving the car from home to the shop
(about 2 miles) its very reliable and solid. It will most definitely need tires and an exhaust to make any sort of trip however. The trans is strong and smooth the engine runs great, and it rides like a dream.

The body overall is in restorable condition with some rust issues here and there with exception of the trunk lid which is by no means savable and does NOT reflect the condition of the rest of the body. We do have replacements available and the winning bidders request. The major spots body trouble spots are noted in the pics. On the positive side. The chrome parts while pitted are all restorable and in perfect structural shape with nothing bent dinged cracked or missing. The bumpers are very straight and dent free. The stainless on this care is immaculate with only two small dings on the passenger front fender trim. The rest of it is perfect enough that we had offers to buy it alone. The windshield is cracked but the rest of the glass is in great condition with no delamination.
The interior is in nice driver shape. The rear seat is in great shape with one burn mark on the driver side (pic). The front seat is in fair condition with only minor ware on the driver side and some drying leather. The dash pad does have some cracks but is still in decent driver condition. The headliner aside from a separated but repairable seam is nice.  The door panels all sport very nice vinyl only needing some minor cleaning and fresh carpet. The carpet is all there but very faded.
Over all its a very solid car to restore or leave as is for that trendy "patina" look. We have a multitude of new and used 61 to 68 parts available that can be offered to the winning bidder. We are a fully equipped street rod shop known as Illustrious Iron, and have the ability to make any vision you may have for this old beauty a reality. From air ride and engine retrofits to full on restorations and customizing. If you have any questions concerns or would like to see any of the numerous other pics don't hesitate to ask.

2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring brings plug-in hybrid tech to the small crossover

Wed, Nov 20 2019

LOS ANGELES — When the new Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair were launched, the Corsair was strangely lacking a hybrid variant like the cheaper Ford. The reason for this is that Lincoln was preparing a slightly more advanced hybrid for the small luxury crossover. The 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring elevates itself over the Ford by bringing plug-in capability and a different kind of all-wheel drive. At the front of the Corsair, the powertrain is the same as the Ford Escape. It's a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-4 and an electric motor powering the front wheels. But at the back, Lincoln has added another electric motor with a single-speed transmission to power the rear wheels, just like Toyota has been doing in the all-wheel-drive versions of the Toyota Prius, RAV4 Hybrid and Lexus UX250h. In addition to giving the Corsair four driven wheels, it brings total horsepower up to 266 ponies, an increase of 66 over the Ford. Having this rear motor opens up lots of freedom for how much power is given to the rear wheels, and a Lincoln representative said that the rear can go into a coasting or free-wheeling state when cruising for efficiency. Supplying electricity to the Corsair Grand Touring is a floor-mounted 14.4-kWh battery pack. Lincoln estimates it will provide enough power for the Corsair to drive about 26 miles on a charge. Neither the battery nor the rear motor take up any interior space, so rear passenger and cargo capacity remain the same as the regular Corsair. Charging can be done at Level 1 or Level 2 chargers, with the former taking 10 to 11 hours and the latter taking 3 to 4 hours. DC fast charging is not available, something that's featured on the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Hybrid mechanical bits aside, the Corsair Grand Touring is just like any other Corsair. The only indicators that it's a hybrid are the unique grille, 20-inch wheels, blue badging and additional door for the charging plug. The Grand Touring comes standard with Lincoln's cell-phone key system, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and automatic high-beams. Automatic parking, a head-up display and adaptive cruise control are all options. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but will likely revealed closer to the on-sale date in the summer of 2020. Looking at the price structure for the Aviator, which also has a Grand Touring plug-in hybrid variant, the Corsair Grand Touring could be priced above the current range-topping Reserve trim.

Even Ford executives had issues with MyFord Touch

Fri, Oct 7 2016

MyFord Touch is one of the auto industry's more controversial features. The media broadly panned the infotainment system developed with Microsoft for its slow responses and reliance on voice commands to navigate its deep menus. Oh, and Ford executives weren't big fans, either. Newly revealed court documents in a California class-action lawsuit demonstrate the level of venom Ford employees, both big and small, reserved for the Blue Oval's infotainment system. An error caused Bill Ford's navigation system to crash, leaving the family scion stuck on the side of the road in an unfamiliar area. The documents, unearthed by Forbes, detail current CEO Mark Fields' aggravations with MFT, too. A mechanic emailed an image of a cracked infotainment screen on an Edge to one of Ford's top Sync engineers, Kenneth Williams, suggesting "Mark Fields may have been a little aggravated with the system." But Ford and Fields' issues are nothing compared to the woes of the engineers that had to work on MFT. In a collection of emails obtained by Forbes, one engineer called the system "a polished turd," while another simply said, "These poor customers." And after one engineer suggested using a photo of Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant – home of the Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKX, and MKT production – as a background for the system, one of his coworkers said in an email that someone should instead Photoshop the image to read "abandon hope all ye who enter here," the Detroit News reports. Another summed up the problem, saying: "Ford's quality reputation is completely on the line ... another model year with the same crap is not acceptable." MyFord Touch almost single-handedly torpedoed Ford's reputation in widely reported quality metrics, including JD Power and Consumer Reports. Ford responded with a refreshed Sync3, a wildly improved rethink of its infotainment system that is far more responsive and easier to live with every day. 2020 Lincoln Aviator fuel economy revealed

Tue, Jun 18 2019

Ford finally revealed some of the last details, such as fuel economy, for the non-hybrid 2020 Explorer. So it's no surprise that its classier corporate twin, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator, has had its own fuel economy data released by the EPA. Though, like the Explorer, we only have information for the non-hybrid versions. The 2020 Lincoln Aviator has just two engine options, a base turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and the same engine coupled to a hybrid system with 450 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. That base engine is the one we have fuel economy numbers for, and it's shared with the Ford Explorer ST, though the ST's version makes an extra 15 pound-feet of torque. With all-wheel drive it gets nearly the same fuel economy as the fast Ford with 17 mpg in the city, 24 on the highway and 20 in combined driving. The Explorer ST gets one more mpg in town. Unlike the Explorer ST, the Aviator does offer rear-wheel drive with this turbocharged V6. This model gets improved fuel economy of 18 in the city, 26 on the highway and 21 in combined driving. This isn't too surprising, since all-wheel-drive vehicles often do a little worse when it comes to fuel economy. We'll be especially curious as to how the Aviator hybrid performs. We doubt it will match the Ford Explorer hybrid, since that crossover relies on a less-powerful naturally aspirated 3.3-liter V6. But it might give the all-wheel-drive four-cylinder Explorer a run for its money, since the rear-drive V6 Aviator is only 1 to 2 mpg behind it. Related Video:
