This is a chance someone to own a for extremely rare and famous REAL Classic car. This car is a factory handmade 1940 Lincoln Zepher Continental Convertible. I am sure any Ford expert would tell you how RARE these cars are.  They only made 350 of them in 1940.

I am selling my 1940 Lincoln Zepher Continental Convertible. The car just reeks TOP CLASS and belongs in a car collection to be admired.  (This car really belongs in a car collection like Jay Lenos' or a collection that its "class" is going considerable upgrade it. It definitely would upgrade any collection !)  I restore antique cars, but am a driver- restorer.  My cars in my collection are driven and maybe shown once in a while.  This car is too valuable and rare for my taste and restoration. The car needs restoration but is remarkable condition for it's age.  What is for sale is the combination of two Lincoln convertibles (one a bit more rusty than the other).

Most of the parts of sheet metal on the car that have rust have been reproduced. There is a new dash, two sets of top irons, two steering columns and steering wheels, complete interior (if not then there is at least 97% there), the Columbia rear end, four doors, fenders that are practically rust free and two practically rust free hoods, bumpers and a ton of interior parts and exterior parts, etc.

In other words, at least two of just about everything. Or about four of the things you would need two of!

I want to sell the Lincoln, but I'm going to be perfectly honest about Lorane (the name my family gave to the Lincoln). The car is a restores dream.  It will be fairly easy to restore (been there and done that), but it will not be able to done on a shoestring.  A car of this quality and fame will require the top of line no matter what has to be done. But it will well worth the investment !  This year Lincoln is extremely rare and valuable !

Don't insult me with low ballers, please.  I know what the car is worth.

Now, before I get a bunch of Ford people calling me about the Lincolns history I want everyone to know that what I know about the car is what I've been told and have not done a bunch of research on the car.

Any questions call me at 815-351-6655.

Lincoln, GMC clean up in AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

In recent years, there have been a lot of dire pronouncements made about Lincoln's future, or a lack thereof. But Ford's premium marque is like the Rocky Balboa of the auto business; every time the company seems ready to go, it comes back for more. Apparently, that dogged persistence is paying off, because the industry analysts at AutoPacific have put a big check in their win column with their newly released 2014 model year vehicle satisfaction survey. And despite recent enmity for its seemingly never-ending recall saga, it appears General Motors knows how to satisfy new owners, too.
In fact, not only was Lincoln named as the premium brand with the highest new owner satisfaction, even scored three models on the list of passenger cars with the most gratified buyers - the MKS, MKZ and MKZ Hybrid.
GM's stable of brands was also among the top companies in this year's survey. GMC was named the top popular brand by AutoPacific, with its Sierra pickup and Acadia crossover singled out for awards in their segments. Chevrolet also did incredibly well, with more cars on the list than any other brand. The Corvette, Camaro, Sonic and Impala all made the cut in their respective categories.

Lincoln prepping MKZ re-launch?

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

Launching an all-new car is no easy task. Case in point is the 2013 Lincoln MKZ, introduced with the fanfare of a major nationwide marketing campaign, including expensive Super Bowl ads, just as Ford was curbing production over potential quality issues. The resulting mess was nothing short of a nightmare for any automaker - customers visiting dealerships looking for cars that hadn't been delivered yet. Disappointed buyers walked out of Lincoln retailers without new keys in their hands, or switched to a competing brand to fill empty spaces in their driveways.
The impact was painful, as Lincoln's sales in January and February of this year were among the lowest it has recorded in more than a quarter century. Even though March looked a bit brighter, with the supply crisis reportedly over (there are 3,000 units in transit and production is approaching 200 units per day) the automaker is reportedly studying the feasibility of giving its pivotal MKZ the launch it originally deserved.
According to TheDetroitBureau.com, putting the MKZ back on consumer's radar could cost Ford tens of millions of dollars, but that kind of investment may be warranted if potential buyers have forgotten about the new model... or worse, if they have forgotten about Lincoln.

Why Lincoln says it's loving Ellen and Conan MKC ad spoofs [w/videos]

Mon, 13 Oct 2014

You would think that commercial being ridiculed across the Internet would be an advertising executive's worst nightmare, but that's not necessarily the case. At least not when it comes to Lincoln and its latest campaign to promote the new MKC.
The campaign features Matthew McConaughey channeling his characters from True Detective and The Lincoln Lawyer, and was quickly spoofed by both Conan O'Brien and Ellen DeGeneres. But instead of shaking their heads in dismay at the comedy talk-show hosts' take on their ad, Lincoln and its advertising firm Hudson Rouge welcome the free publicity.
"We're flattered. Just to get out into the public mind with parodies says you've achieved a certain amount of notoriety," Hudson Rouge CCO Jon Pearce told Automotive News. "It's hard to put a dollar amount on earned media. We couldn't ask for better."
