Excalibur 10-pass. Limousine From Lincoln Town Car on 2040-cars
Elmira, New York, United States
Excalibur 10-passenger Stretch Limousine This is an unique Excalibur Expansion limo that is 120 inches long for up to 10 passengers. You rarely find these, especially with this high a capacity. This limo was orginially manufactured by National Coach Engineering, LTD #1590794, from a 1994 Lincoln Town Car. It was re-manufactured by Authority Coach Build, LTD in June 2013. This working limo has a grey interior with a black wood bar. It has holders for 8 flute glasses and 14 rock glasses, with one cooler and two champagne buckets. This limo does not allow smoking. Interior: The Radio/CD Player, 7 1/2 inch TV, VCR, Heating and AC are all in good working order. It has a grey J-leather seat. The back bench is worn. The electronic lock switches do not always work along with the key remote. The electronic trunk latch has been disconnected and replaced with a hand-pull lever. Privacy divider works and the window divider does not. Buttons for heat and AC controls on the dash are worned and some cracked. There is no passenger seat in the front driver area, in accordance with NYS regulations, but I still have it if you want it. Mileage/Engine: The mileage on the dash was 205,189 at that time of this listing. This is a working limo and will have added mileage at the time of purchase. It has a dual battery in the truck. The air suspension light comes on, but our outside mechanic says that is due to it being disconnected. The gear shift sometimes needs to be re-adjusted in order to the start the vehicle. This limo is maintained on a regular basis. Very good working engine. Oil changed every three months, AC checked/recharged on regular basis if needed or not. I have had this limo for seven years and can tell you all the work that has been done to this limo in that time frame only. Maintenance receipts are available. With the re-manufacturing completed in 2012, it was issued a NYS DOT exemption letter. Comes with purchase. For those in NY, it does not need the twice-a-year diamond inspection. It has passed the NY State yearly inspection. Body Condition: The body needs minor work. The under rockers on the side have just started a little surface rust along with the edges of both the front doors. A small crack by each rear door. Some outside running lights along coach area need replacing. Potential buyers: I have tried to detail the good and the bad about this limo for an honest assessment. You are welcome to contract me for a personal inspection. It is still in good running order and is still rented. I have also included photos so there will be no surprises. This will be sold “AS IS” with no refunds. I will not sell it with the license plates, so you will have to find your own transport. I have had a bad experience with that so please do not ask, my answer will not change. I have never shipped a vehicle so I can not be of any help in that manner. I am willing to drive it within a one-day area of upstate New York for $50/hour per a Mapquest time determination, paid in advance. We will not be accepting bids from anyone that has less than 10 purchase experiences. A $500 deposit will be required by PayPal within 72 hours and full payment within 14 days, prefer PayPal, credit card or cash. We will NOT accept checks, sorry. If you are paying cash, we will not trasnport without the cash in advance. |

Lincoln drops MKX base price to $38,995
Mon, Jun 22 2015Lincoln is giving the 2016 MKX a major improvement in style and tech, and is introducing the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 as an option for the luxury crossover. While all of those changes are significant, the cost might be just as enticing to get customers checking out the new generation. The base price for 2016 falls to $38,995, after an $895 destination charge on all models, compared to $39,795 for the 2015. At this time, there are three trim levels listed on Lincoln's site, but a Black Label version is supposed to come along later to add a bit more opulence. Above the base Premiere trim, the Select model starts at $42,285, and adds features like LED running lights, folding and heated mirrors, leather seats, and a power hatch. Spending $46,050 brings buyers to the Reserve trim with upgrades including a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels, navigation, adaptive headlights, and heated seats. There are a huge number of individual options available, including full LED headlights and a safety suite of tech. Opting for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost pushes the price of any trim up an extra $2,000, and checking the box for all-wheel drive brings with it an added $2,495. As ever, you can spec one out yourself on the official configurator here.
Ed Welburn leaves a lasting legacy at GM design
Sat, Apr 9 2016General Motors design chief Ed Welburn retired July 1, and the soft-spoken stylist is leaving a lasting legacy at the automaker and on the industry. He became the first African American to lead design at a carmaker when he took over GM's top spot in 2003. Just six people have overseen the company's design, and Welburn followed in the footsteps of icons like Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell. When Welburn was given expanded global oversight in 2005, it wasn't ceremonial. He helped unite the company's sprawling design empire, and today is in charge of 2,500 people who have a hand in designing GM cars. "He nurtured a creative, inclusive, and customer-focused culture among our designers that has strengthened our global brands," Mary Barra, GM chairman and CEO, said in a statement." Welburn took the helm when GM and the industry were shaking off a general styling malaise that pervaded the 1980s and 1990s. During his 13 years in charge, he took risks, produced a wide range of styles for everything from hybrids to sports cars to big trucks, and leaves GM design in a better place. Welburn's replacement, Michael Simcoe from GM's international design unit, has big shoes to fill. News & Analysis News: Tesla attracted more than 325,000 preorders of the Model 3 in about a week. Analysis: If anything, the Model 3 is more popular than many expected. Elon Musk tweeted that surprising figure on Thursday, and he said just five percent ordered the maximum number of two. That seems to indicate actual owners rather than speculators are fueling the demand. With a starting price of $35,000 before incentives and an electric range of 215 miles, the Model 3 is the Tesla that's attainable for a lot of people. Clearly, that notion is resonating. News: Lincoln has drawn 40,000 hand-raisers for the Continental. Analysis: Okay, that's not a Tesla figure, but it's still an encouraging sign for Lincoln that one of its most famous and historic names still resonates in 2016. It also demonstrates using a real, albeit slightly dusty name, was the right call for the MKS replacement. "No other Lincoln vehicle has generated this much interest in this little time," Lincoln president Kumar Galhotra said in New York last month. The concept that debuted a year ago put Lincoln back on the map, and the production version remains true to that promise. It will stand out on the road when it arrives this fall, and ultimately, that kind of style will determine Lincoln's future.
2020 Ford Explorer nabs IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating after updates
Mon, Sep 21 2020The 2020 Ford Explorer has been named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the agency's best rating. The redesigned Explorer initially fell short of that mark, however, only making the grade after Ford introduced a running change to the vehicle's design starting in May 2020 — a change made to the 2020 Lincoln Aviator as well. To achieve a Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must have a Good performance rating in all six of the agency's crash tests. It also must have Acceptable or better ratings for all of its available headlamps and must earn Advanced or Superior ratings for its automated collision avoidance systems in tests of their performance against pedestrians and other vehicles. The 2020 Explorer initially achieved only an Acceptable performance in the IIHS's driver's-side small-overlap crash test, as the agency found a risk of injury to the driver's left foot due to intrusion into the footwell. Ford subsequently modified the design of the front subframe in a running change to Explorers and to Lincoln Aviators built after May 2020. The modified Explorer was re-tested, and this time the model achieved a Good performance in the driver's small-overlap test. That, combined with a Superior performance in both tests of the standard collision-avoidance system plus Acceptable ratings for both headlight systems, pushed the 2020 Explorer over the goal line to Top Safety Pick+. The Aviator, which shares the Explorer's platform, has received the same modification and achieves the same crashworthiness ratings. However, its standard headlights are judged Marginal, and therefore the 2020 Aviator achieves only the Top Safety Pick rating (even though its optional curve-adaptive LED headlights are judged Good).
