79 Lincoln Town Car on 2040-cars

Having to sell my 79 Lincoln town Car as I now have too many cars for the driveway. This is a two owner car with 153881 miles on it. It floats down the road and I have driven it to the coast within the past 30 days and it got me there and back home in style. It has a new set of tires, a new alternator, new battery, new starter, and new headlight switch to make the headlight doors come up. Previous owner spent over 6500- on it since 1999. There is some rust and the windows need attention. The driver and passenger windows work but the back ones do not. Interior is leather blue and is in good shape. The dashboard has a carpet cover and is not caracked. Interior carpet is in good shape and the trunk is clean. All glass is in good shape, very good cloth roof. Part of one muffler was off when I got it and it is still in that shape. Body has usual dings for a 79 Lincoln. This is a good running car and has been fun to drive. 2016 Lincoln MKX packs plenty of power, MKC-inspired looks
Tue, Jan 13 2015Following on the heels of Ford's unveiling of its new Edge a few months back, Lincoln officially introduced the new MKX counterpart on Tuesday at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Unlike its Ford counterpart, the MKX does away with any notion of a four-cylinder, opting for the buyer's choice of a pair of V6 engines. At its base is FoMoCo's familiar 3.7-liter V6, generating a projected 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, although the real exciting powertrain news focuses on Lincoln's optional engine. Like the Edge, the top-end engine is a 2.7-liter, EcoBoost V6 that promises "more than" 330 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque. We'd love to tell you about the performance impact this new engine has on the MKX, but as Lincoln probably hasn't published a 0-60 time since 1967, that simply isn't possible. Suffice it to say, we expect the most potent engine should offer pretty brisk acceleration. Aside from the power increase provided by the MKX's new engine lineup, Lincoln has thoroughly refitted the crossover's exterior, using its handsome MKC kid brother as its inspiration. It's a good look, to be honest, allowing the new CUV to maintain its styling edge over its Blue Ovaled platform mate. Lincoln prepping MKZ re-launch?
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Launching an all-new car is no easy task. Case in point is the 2013 Lincoln MKZ, introduced with the fanfare of a major nationwide marketing campaign, including expensive Super Bowl ads, just as Ford was curbing production over potential quality issues. The resulting mess was nothing short of a nightmare for any automaker - customers visiting dealerships looking for cars that hadn't been delivered yet. Disappointed buyers walked out of Lincoln retailers without new keys in their hands, or switched to a competing brand to fill empty spaces in their driveways.
The impact was painful, as Lincoln's sales in January and February of this year were among the lowest it has recorded in more than a quarter century. Even though March looked a bit brighter, with the supply crisis reportedly over (there are 3,000 units in transit and production is approaching 200 units per day) the automaker is reportedly studying the feasibility of giving its pivotal MKZ the launch it originally deserved.
According to TheDetroitBureau.com, putting the MKZ back on consumer's radar could cost Ford tens of millions of dollars, but that kind of investment may be warranted if potential buyers have forgotten about the new model... or worse, if they have forgotten about Lincoln.
