2009 Lincoln Town Car Signature L Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
2009 Lincoln Town Car Signature “L” SELLER NOTES AND DISCLOSURES: I bought this vehicle on eBay in June of 2013 and had it shipped from Texas. According to the Car Fax report, it was first put in service in Louisiana, and then made its way to the Houston area. The car was originally blue in color, and I had it taken
apart (i.e. glass removed, trim taken off, etc.) and sprayed black, with clear
coat. This included under the hood, inside
the trunk, and all door jams. You cannot tell the car was repainted. This is NOT a car that was driven aggressively. I am a sole proprietor of a livery service and have no employees. I AM THE ONLY PERSON who has driven the vehicle since I bought it. I am selling it strictly because the contracts I have been seeking require a different make and model vehicle. As you will see from the photos, this car is nearly perfect in condition. I have kept it washed, detailed, and cleaned since I’ve owned it. This means waxing at least once a month, and paint cleaning and colored waxing every other month with Zymol Black Wax. And also chrome polish on the trim and grill. I’ve also kept the carpet looking brand new by completely sealing it with carpet cover tape, and using rubber floor mats. You will be very hard pressed to find a late model Town Car “L” with relative LOW miles and in pristine condition. They just don’t exist, because the livery companies bought them up, once production of the vehicle ceased in 2012. The car runs flawlessly, does not have any shimmers or shakes, and the transmission shifts smoothly. I am the only driver of the vehicle, and I did not drive it hard. The air suspension works perfectly, and with the newer tires, it is extremely quiet. All the electronics work perfectly. The vehicle has a current California registration which expires in June of 2015. It has a clean and clear commercial title in the State of California. Here is a summary of what I’ve done to the vehicle, since I’ve owned it: 91,888: Tires balanced and rotated 88, 828: Oil change and filter 84,161: Michelin Energy LX4 All Season whitewall radials from COSTCO 84, 154: Front end alignment 82,904: Transmission flush 81,xxx: Oil Pan Gasket 80,276: Cooling system flush and thermostat replaced 78,243: Oil change Flaws and more disclosures: · Slight color sand burn along the hood edge (see photo). · Rear passenger slightly pushed in at the tip, due to the door being opened and hitting a pole (barely noticeable). · One paint touch up area on the roof, very small and not easy to see. · Some very slight scratches on the top of the rear bumper, barely noticeable. · Paint touched up UNDER the portion on top of the rear bumper, which is completely unviewable when the trunk is closed. · Seller is responsible for the pickup of the vehicle, and therefore shall either pick it up personally, or arrange transportation. The 2009 Lincoln Town Car L is free to verify and inspect before the purchase. The car is described to the best of my knowledge. I reserve the right to end the listing at anytime as the vehicle is listed locally and could sell at any time. PLEASE bid only if you are a serious buyer and have the funds available for purchase. As Seller has disclosed all known and obvious defects and imperfections, vehicle is listed for sale/auction AS IS, WITH NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES, CLAIMS OR FUTURE COMPENSATION/OFFSETS OF FUNDS. All sales are FINAL, and UPON PURCHASE OF VEHICLE, BUYER WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO FUTURE CLAIMS AND ASSERTIONS FOR ANY FUTURE COMPENSATION. This is a terrific vehicle that has been well cared for! Happy Bidding!!!!! |

Lower gas prices mean there are excellent deals on green cars right now
Sat, Jan 17 2015The phenomenon was big enough to make news in 2006, then in 2008, in 2011, in 2012, in 2013, and again last year: a big move in gas prices means a big move in alternative-fuel-vehicle sales. True Car's TrueSavings report, which averages transaction prices across the country to figure out what people are paying compared to MSRP, shows that electric cars and hybrids are ripe for excellent savings right now. The Ford Focus Electric presents the greatest disparity, with the average transaction price of $25,168 representing a 16.1-percent saving off its $29,995 MSRP. The Kia Optima Hybrid and Toyota Prius also snagged spots in the top five, with the Kia offering a 10.7-percent discount and the Toyota a 10.1-percent discount. One hybrid managed to show up among the top five lease offers, too: the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is just $315 a month for 36 months after $3,875 down in some markets. Alt-energy vehicles got bumped out of the top five finance deals, however. That was dominated by light trucks and, oddly, two subcompacts. The press release below has more details. TrueCar finds hybrids, EVs top list of best savings in January Gasoline price plunge = savings for consumers on alternative fuel vehicles SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford's Focus Electric hatchback, which sells at an average of 16 percent off MSRP, tops January's list of best savings on new vehicles, according to TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE), the negotiation-free car buying and selling platform. The "TrueSavings" monthly report analyzes current transaction prices and identifies opportunities for consumer savings. "Fuel savings are not top of mind to many consumers right now, and that makes this a great time to buy a hybrid or electric vehicle," said John Krafcik, president of TrueCar. "With gasoline prices now averaging just $2.10 per gallon, and vehicle preferences tied so closely to short-term gasoline prices, automakers are heavily discounting their most fuel-efficient cars to clear inventories." Toyota's Prius, the world's best-selling alternative fuel vehicle for more than a decade, also makes January's list of best savings. Customers who purchase a Prius Two model this month can save 10 percent off the hybrid car's $25,025 MSRP. "Gasoline prices and vehicle type preferences are strongly related, and this relationship is cyclical in nature," said Krafcik.
The Lincoln Continental is back [w/videos]
Mon, Mar 30 2015Lincoln is making a huge splash in New York this week, rolling out the Continental Concept you see here. Not only does this bring back an iconic bit of Lincoln nomenclature (just as some competitors are making things more complicated), it previews the new Continental fullsize sedan that will come to market next year. This is "a concept which for us signals the future of what we call quiet luxury," Ford Motor Company president and CEO, Mark Fields, said during an event Sunday. "The Concept is a very strong hint – I'll underline very strong hint – as to what you'll see in the production vehicle." There's no other way to say it: the Continental looks stunning. It's a long, low-slung sedan, with a shape that's reminiscent of the Ford Interceptor Concept from 2007. But this thing is all Lincoln, and shows a host of new design cues that will no doubt work their way across the brand's range. Most notably, the split-wing grille is gone, with this new chrome centerpiece showing a "new face for Lincoln" (where have we heard that before?). The Continental also incorporates LED matrix headlamps, with laser-assist high-beams and tiny Lincoln logos embedded inside. For the doors, Lincoln uses "E-Latch" handles that tuck discretely into the Continental's beltine. The concept rolls on polished aluminum, 21-inch wheels with painted pockets. Up above, the Continental has a SPD SmartGlass tinting sunroof that can keep the interior up to 18 degrees cooler. Around back, the Continental has a wide, planted stance, with taillamps that stretch from side to side. These lamps have "light-through-chrome" technology, which means they have a chrome look when not illuminated. Rounding out the whole design are slim, wide exhaust outlets that look fantastic. The main focus of the Continental is luxury, and Lincoln says this car uses "the brand's most sensual materials ever." That includes Venetian leather seats and door panels, Alcantara on the seat inserts and armrests, a satin headliner and wool carpet. Lighting is also a key feature, with an ambient glow that radiates throughout the cabin and "soft-gold" LED lights in the center console. As for comfort, the Continental's 30-way seats are said to mold to passengers' sizes and shapes. Rear seat passengers have it best, though, with a two-seat layout, tray tables, a champagne storage compartment, and detachable, handmade Venetian leather travel cases.
A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
