2000 Lincoln Krystal 120" 8-pax Limousine on 2040-cars
Palm Springs, California, United States
I have a terrific Lincoln/Krystal Limousine for sale. Eight Passenger. 154,300 Original Miles
History; The 2000 Lincoln Town Car was originally purchased as a sedan for private use. In 2002, my friend Andre purchased the Town Car. Andre sent it to Krystal and had it stretched in to a limousine in the Krystal 120Z style. I purchased the limousine from him in 2004 and have owned it in my limousine business ever since. I moved to Palm Springs with the limousine in 2013 with the intention of starting a limousine business here, and never did. Now, it is time for her to go. For the past nine years I've owned her, she has been treated excellently and I have never driven her around overweighted, etc. The limousine has been serviced regularly. It has all synthetic fluids inside, with K&N filters for oil and air. I had ALL the service work done in December 2012. NOTHING needs to be done to this car for the next 30k other than oil changes. Mechanically this limousine is a 9. It needs a new primary and secondary battery, they do not hold a charge unless the car is driven regularly. The driver's window motor/track is needing to be fixed. The motor is strong (new actually) but the window binds from time to time. The front a/c blows strong and cold, the salon a/c works great in Oregon/Washington and in San Diego... but it did struggle to be effective in Palm Springs during the high heat. That said, this car has tons of upgrades like High Output alternators, new axels, airbags, etc while I have had it. I can drive this car to Boston, Miami, anywhere without issue. It does not burn oil, smoke, leak, NOTHING. It is in amazing condition. Cosmetically, it is a 7.5 If you own a limousine business, this car is ready to go out and make money. It has reinforced upholstery on the bar lips, seat corners, etc. My last overhaul of the interior was 2007. There is no odor, mold, stank, etc. Inside, it is missing one a/c blower vent cover. That's it. DVD upgrade, line in jack, new Alpine head unit with new speakers. Everything works in the back. Even have the remote control. Outside, there are a few small scratches in the paint. No dents - straight body. The lower corner of the windshield is cracked at the cowling. You can not see this anywhere in the glass - it is only visible when standing over it from the exterior. The carriage top needs to either be scrubbed, bleached, or re-dyed/sprayed. This summer while I was on vacation they replaced the water pipe along my street. The construction film settled on the top and has remained. It also picked up some hard water spotting on the passenger side. Up front in the driver's compartment, the driver's airbag has been removed. According to Andre, this happened at Krystal during conversion and they offered to discount the job or replace it. He took the discount. Finally, the title and registration are current, in hand, and from WA state. The title has a brand on it from CA saying damaged/salvage. Andre said it was due to having the car stretched in to a limousine after it had already been sold and titled as a sedan. This car has NEVER been in an accident. It has passed every inspection by every regulator in WA and OR. The WA inspections are some of the most critical in the US. You will not have any problems with this car - I am sure of it. :-) I have had years of satisfied customers in this car. It is ready to go out and make money - it just needs a home to do so. For the mileage and the condition, it is a great buy that has a solid five years if not more life left to go. Take care of her the same way, you'll probably get another ten years. The vehicle is in Palm Springs. I will bring it to you for viewings, to serious buyers in the LA/San Diego area for a $100 fee. Otherwise, I can show it to you here anytime. I am happy to deliver the car from Phoenix to Las Vegas to LA/San Diego for FREE with a full price offer. I will deliver it anywhere else in the US, Canada, etc. for $400 per day of travel, plus fuel, hotel, food, and a one way ticket back to Palm Springs. I can accept credit cards, PayPal, or cash. CC + PayPal will have their fees added. No low ballers please. Don't waste my time to call and offer me $5,000. You know it is worth more, so do I. She is cleaned up and ready to go. I have the car for sale locally here in Palm Springs as well as on CraigsList in Southern California. I will end the auction early if sold locally. All of the information I have on this vehicle is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I have owned the vehicle for over nine years now. Thank you and enjoy your new limousine! 760-880-1600 |

Auto Show Notebook: Legendary Continental name inspired Lincoln's designers
Thu, Apr 2 2015What's in a name? A lot for the Continental concept, and it gave Lincoln designers a sense of purpose as they styled the brand's upcoming flagship sedan. "The moment that we told them, it was amazing," Lincoln president Kumar Galhotra said. "They totally got it." "It" is cutting-edge technology wrapped in stately, large-sedan design. It's a nod to Lincoln's storied past, but a signpost for where the brand is heading. Though the Continental name dates to the late 1930s, Lincoln designers avoided making the concept overtly retro. "You can't let it pull yourself back too far in history, but you've got to design a car that lives up to the name," Galhotra said. Speaking to Autoblog on the floor of the New York Auto Show where the Continental formally debuted Wednesday, the Lincoln president reiterated that the car is on track to launch in 2016. It will compete against the Audi A6, Lexus GS, BMW 5 Series and other large luxury sedans. After its debut, the concept in New York will fly to China – another critical market for Lincoln – for display there. It will be replaced in New York by a prototype without an interior. The Continental is the latest high profile play by Lincoln to raise its image with consumers, who have either ignored or forgotten about it amid steep competition in the luxury sector from German and Japanese brands and a potentially resilient Cadillac. Lincoln sales are essentially flat compared with 2014 through the first quarter of this year, with total volume of 21,478 units. The middling start to 2015 comes on the heels of nearly 16-percent sales growth last year spurred by the launch of the MKC and the prominent signing of Matthew McConaughey to star in Lincoln advertisements. Other News, Notes & Quotes Speaking of names, Chevrolet did its homework before deciding to proceed with "Malibu" for its new generation of midsize cars. "We went out and researched it," said Alan Batey, president of General Motors North America. "People actually like the name 'Malibu,'" he said. Admittedly, the current Malibu has struggled in the marketplace against entrenched competitors, Batey said, but he's optimistic its awareness and historical value are assets to the dramatically redesigned sedan."The name's strong," he said. Meanwhile, in other Chevy news, the brand kicked off a new marketing campaign, "Real People, Not Actors" Wednesday. It will show consumers interacting with Chevys and their spontaneous reactions to the vehicles.
The Lincoln Continental is back [w/videos]
Mon, Mar 30 2015Lincoln is making a huge splash in New York this week, rolling out the Continental Concept you see here. Not only does this bring back an iconic bit of Lincoln nomenclature (just as some competitors are making things more complicated), it previews the new Continental fullsize sedan that will come to market next year. This is "a concept which for us signals the future of what we call quiet luxury," Ford Motor Company president and CEO, Mark Fields, said during an event Sunday. "The Concept is a very strong hint – I'll underline very strong hint – as to what you'll see in the production vehicle." There's no other way to say it: the Continental looks stunning. It's a long, low-slung sedan, with a shape that's reminiscent of the Ford Interceptor Concept from 2007. But this thing is all Lincoln, and shows a host of new design cues that will no doubt work their way across the brand's range. Most notably, the split-wing grille is gone, with this new chrome centerpiece showing a "new face for Lincoln" (where have we heard that before?). The Continental also incorporates LED matrix headlamps, with laser-assist high-beams and tiny Lincoln logos embedded inside. For the doors, Lincoln uses "E-Latch" handles that tuck discretely into the Continental's beltine. The concept rolls on polished aluminum, 21-inch wheels with painted pockets. Up above, the Continental has a SPD SmartGlass tinting sunroof that can keep the interior up to 18 degrees cooler. Around back, the Continental has a wide, planted stance, with taillamps that stretch from side to side. These lamps have "light-through-chrome" technology, which means they have a chrome look when not illuminated. Rounding out the whole design are slim, wide exhaust outlets that look fantastic. The main focus of the Continental is luxury, and Lincoln says this car uses "the brand's most sensual materials ever." That includes Venetian leather seats and door panels, Alcantara on the seat inserts and armrests, a satin headliner and wool carpet. Lighting is also a key feature, with an ambient glow that radiates throughout the cabin and "soft-gold" LED lights in the center console. As for comfort, the Continental's 30-way seats are said to mold to passengers' sizes and shapes. Rear seat passengers have it best, though, with a two-seat layout, tray tables, a champagne storage compartment, and detachable, handmade Venetian leather travel cases.
Lincoln's $5B revival bid hinges upon new D6 chassis
Mon, 27 Oct 2014It's no secret that Lincoln has received short shrift from the Ford Motor Company for years, and former CEO Alan Mullay even wanted to kill the whole thing off when he ran things. Today, things appear to be trending in a different direction. Fresh investment has helped enable a sizable marketing push for its well-regarded MKC compact crossover, a couple of awards for the company and plant the seeds for a major expansion into China. While the situation is still in the early going, it looks like Lincoln is on a tentative (if long) path towards a turnaround. If new reports are accurate, the brand is poised to build on that momentum with its largest investment in new products in years thanks in large measure to a new modular platform codenamed D6.
According to four unnamed insiders speaking to Reuters, FoMoCo is investing over $5 billion over the next five years, partially to create a new modular platform to underpin multiple Lincoln vehicles - and possibly some Ford products, too. Development is reportedly being overseen by the division's new boss, Kumar Galhotra. At the moment, specific details about the D6 chassis aren't yet known, but it's rumored to have the flexibility to support front-, rear- and all-wheel drive vehicles. According to Reuters, the first model using the framework could be an MKZ replacement and seven-passenger MKT successor in 2019.
Until the D6-based models hit, expect to see continued expansion from Lincoln. Ford management isn't trying to turn around the division overnight and is planning "in terms of generations of products," according to current CEO Mark Fields. The strategy unsurprisingly includes a production version of Lincoln's recent MKX Concept, as well as an all-new Navigator using aluminum-intensive architecture. Reuters also claims the MKS is due for renewal in the meantime, including with a longer-wheelbase version to appeal to the brand's new Chinese buyers.
