THIS TOWN CAR SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, THERE IS TRULY NO "PERFECT" CAR IN THE USED CAR WORLD, BUT MINE IS EXTREMELY CLOSE!!
I am selling my one-owner '96 Cartier Town Car, finished in Silver Frost Metallic with contrasting Light Graphite (grey) leather interior. It has 93,700 miles, averaging 5,500 miles per year. This is a west coast snowbird car, having traveled back and forth between Vancouver, WA and Phoenix. The car has been serviced every 5,000 miles since new. This Town Car is in impeccable condition....the paint is beautiful, there are no dents (really), and the perfect leather interior is sumptuous for five full size passengers. All electric windows work flawlessly and the glass is excellent all around. The windows are all tinted and the tint is in great shape. The rubber seals/weatherstripping around the doors and windows are in fine condition. The A/C blows strong and cold, and all instruments, cruise control, and lights work properly, including the rear ceiling-mounted vanity mirrors/lights available only on the Cartier. This Town Car comes with heated front seats, upgraded JBL 9 speaker sound system, keyless entry, perfect headliner, and the 3 door Homelink garage door system. The upgraded 16" Lincoln alloy wheels have no curb rash and feature a matched set of Michelin Symmetry tires. The original Cartier embossed floor and trunk mats are in phenomenal condition as they have been covered with a second set of floor mats that also come with the car. Most Town Cars of this age have pitted/peeling chrome moldings...not this car...the chrome is perfect all around. The secret to the Town Car ride is the rear air suspension. The self-leveling suspension positions the body to sit level under varying loads, and has no air-bag/compressor issues or air leaks. Speaking of leaks, this Cartier's undercarriage is completely dry...no fluid leaks of any kind. As you would expect of a car of this quality; the owner's manual, original window sticker ($42,750), three keys/two remotes, jack, spare tire (donut), and tools are all part of the package. This is a non-smoker, no kids, no pets car that needs nothing. This Town Car has never been in an accident and has a perfect Carfax available for your inspection. If you are looking for an elegant, comfortable vehicle that gets great mileage for its size (17/25mpg on regular gas) and can accommodate several sets of golf clubs in its very large trunk, then this may be the car for you. The VIN is: 1LNLM83W3TY734875 and I have a clean and notarized Arizona title on hand. The car is priced a little higher than some on the market, but you will see the value when see/drive the car. Cadillac stopped building large luxury rear-wheel drive cars (Fleetwood Brougham) in 1996, while Lincoln continued producing the Town Car until 2011. They really don't build them like this anymore. This is truly a "needs nothing" Cartier.

Lincoln Aviator warning and alert sounds are played by an orchestra
Mon, Nov 5 2018Lincoln used members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to create alert chimes for its new Aviator SUV. Luxury manufacturers are always looking for more ways to increase the level of ambiance, and Lincoln went so far as to contract some of the best musicians in the world to create a more comfortable atmosphere. In total, the musicians created six different alert chimes for 25 different alerts the Aviator could provide. The alert chimes fall into three different categories Lincoln uses for warnings: non-critical, soft-warning chimes and hard-warning chimes. They are all made using a blend of percussion instruments, violin and viola. Lincoln plans to expand the instrumental sounds across its entire lineup eventually. These chimes will represent warnings for things like an open fuel door, unbuckled seat belt, the lowering of the power liftgate and plenty more. It's not a bad day when leaving your headlights on or door open lead to a pleasant musical sound coming from your speakers. All the sounds seem appropriate for their particular functions, and do sound more pleasing than the normal alerts. Lincoln says the musicians initially came up with 125 different sound options before they narrowed it down to just six. While it might feel a bit gimmicky at face value, a calming sound playing versus an annoying beep might reduce in-car aggravation. The Aviator with these warning sounds will be revealed at the LA Auto Show at the end of the month as well. It was originally shown as a close-to-production-looking concept car at the NY Auto Show earlier this year. All the official production details will be coming in LA. We'll be there in-person to tell you if these new musical chimes are a win. Lincoln Aviator warning chimes View 5 Photos Related video:
Ford launches pair of recalls affecting fullsize sedans and Transit Connect van
Wed, Jan 28 2015Ford has announced a pair of pretty significant recalls affecting the 2010-2013 Ford Taurus and Police Interceptor, as well as their platform-mate, the Lincoln MKS. A separate recall covers the 2014 Transit Connect. The fullsize sedans include 205,000 vehicles built at Chicago Assembly over a variety of timeframes, ranging between December 1, 2009 and November 30, 2012. The vehicles, 194,889 of which were sold in the United States, have an issue with the spring controls on the interior door handles that could cause the door to open in a side-impact crash. The Transit Connect recall, meanwhile, includes 16,100 vans built between November 6, 2013 and September 20,2014 at the company's Valencia, Spain factory. In these vehicles, the seatbelt fasteners may not have been tightened properly, which could cause them to loosen over time, a condition that's obviously bad news in the event of a crash. Ford says it is not aware of any accidents, injuries or crashes in either recall. Owners will, of course, be notified and asked to report in for inspections and if necessary, free replacements. Scroll down for the full press release from Ford, which includes the complete breakdown of dates during which the affected sedans were built in Chicago. JAN 28, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. Affected vehicles include certain 2010-2013 Ford Taurus vehicles built Dec. 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011 to Nov. 30, 2012 at Chicago Assembly Plant; certain 2010-2013 Lincoln MKS vehicles built June 2, 2011 to Oct. 31, 2011 at Chicago Assembly Plant; and certain 2010-2013 Ford Police Interceptor sedans built Dec. 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010 and Feb. 1, 2011 to Nov. 30, 2012 at Chicago Assembly Plant.
Matthew McConaughey returns in new Lincoln MKX ads
Thu, Sep 10 2015Matthew McConaughey is getting back behind the wheel of a Lincoln for a set of cool new ads for the MKX. Unlike his oft-parodied spots for the MKC, the latest ones eschew the easy-going actor's semi-philosophical musings in place of some smooth jazz, a mysterious story, and shots of the luxury crossover on the road. Separately, the three commercials are titled Welcome, Arrival, and Winning Hand, and they combine to tell a story of McConaughey getting ready for a game of poker. Of course, the MKX is meant to be the real star, and the spots show off its high-end tech, including a 360-degree camera, Revel Audio system, and hands-free parking. Keep an eye out for a cameo from a classic Lincoln in one of the ads. For really curious viewers, the automaker is also extending the story to its homepage to explain more about the people McConaughey is meeting. In addition to giving McConaughey and the MKX starring roles, there's A-list talent behind the camera too. Replacing Nicolas Winding Refn from the MKC spots for these is Gus Van Sant, best known for directing Good Will Hunting and Milk, plus recent BMW i8 videos. The new ads make their broadcast debut during college football games on Saturday, September 12 on ABC and re-air during NFL games on the 13th on CBS and Fox. However, you can get an early peek by watching the combined short film above. Let us know in Comments how you think they compare to McConaughey's MKC spots. Collaboration Between McConaughey and Lincoln Evolves in Spots for All-New Lincoln MKX Quiet Luxury, an understated yet compelling experience brought to life by the all-new Lincoln MKX, underpins a new series of television advertisements featuring Matthew McConaughey. All-new Lincoln MKX, representing the latest chapter for the brand, featured in new television advertisements with Matthew McConaughey Acclaimed director Gus Van Sant brings distinct cinematic style to these Lincoln MKX ads, which introduce new characters and storylines. The new spots debut during key college football matchups on Saturday, Sept. 12, on ABC. They can be seen again during NFL games on Sunday, Sept. 13, on CBS and FOX. "What appeals to me about this new series of ads is that while the overall Lincoln message remains consistent, the way it is delivered continues to evolve," said Matthew McConaughey.
