1992 Lincoln Towncar "Signature Series" 4dr. Sedan
I am the second owner of this original, unmolested, 41,XXX mile beauty. This car was purchased new with an original sticker price of $34,000 in 1992. The car has always been maintained and cared for with the utmost care. Always parked in a clean and dry garage in Florida where it was sold new by Alex Karras Motors in Bradenton, FL. I have known this car since new and it has NEVER been driven in the snow. Up until 2 years ago this car had lived a pampered life in Florida and probably never saw rain more than a handful of times.
Maintenance:
All regular maintenance was performed by this dealership and I have the service records. Included are all manuals and literature from new. I also have the original invoice. I have recently had the front brakes inspected and the front end aligned, as well as a new battery. The tires are the original Michelins, and have maybe 10K miles left on them. The air suspension functions as new, there are no engine leaks, no transmission problems, etc.
Drivetrain:
The engine is the 4.6L V8 and it runs like a top. I have only driven this car on short jaunts around the area and it will get 17-19 MPG very easily. Currently it is setting at 21 MPG and I drove it about 50 miles around an area of back road Sunday driving. The oil has been changed religiously every 3000 miles and has had a fresh oil change less than 1000 miles ago. The inner wheel wells and suspension are extremely clean and the original paint markings are visible on the front sway bar, etc. Clean, clean, clean.
Interior:
The interior is full leather and it is nearly spotless, as is the carpet and original floor mats. Everything is functional as it left the factory and I have recharged the A/C even though it was not required. The engine compartment is extremely clean as well as the undercarriage. NO RUST whatsoever!
Paint and Finish:
The paint is excellent, (Mocha Frost Metallic) but it does have a few minor bumps and bruises typical of a little old lady driven vehicle. There are 2 vertical dents in the decklid that are shown in the photos. The doors on this car close with a mere whisper of a push. Rock solid and quiet. The chrome trim shines as new, the mirrors are flawless, the wheel lip opening moldings are also flawless. I think that the photos speak for themselves, but if you have any additional questions, I will be glad to answer them.
Note: I am currently trying to find a new antenna mast, as the original was broken off at the car wash......duh, my fault. Note to self: if the radio is on, but the volume is inaudible, the antenna is still up!!
If you always wanted a luxury car but couldn't afford to plunk down the big money..... this is your opportunity to own a like-new example of a $34K Lincoln Towncar Signature Series for a small fraction of the original cost. A beautiful car for sure.
Terms:
Paypal accepted for the non-refundable payment only. I will accept the balance in cash only. Sorry no checks or money orders. The title is clear and in my posession and will only need to be notarized. Pick up or shipment of the car is strictly the buyers responsibility.
Thanks for looking and Good Luck! Please call Steve at 419-756-6581 and please leave a message. Sorry, no texting capabilities in this neck of the woods!

Lincoln to adopt Mini-like personalization strategy?
Fri, 18 Jan 2013There's no single silver bullet that will cure all that ails the Lincoln brand, and Ford knows that just as surely as we do. Coming out with exciting new models like the well-received MKC crossover counts as several steps in the right direction, assuming of course that the production version is as appealing as the concept just shown at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, but more is needed. According to Jim Farley, executive vice president of Lincoln, one more trick may be "mass customization."
Put another way, Lincoln is considering ways to allow buyers to customize their new vehicles right off the showroom floor, similar to how things are done at Mini, and, to a lesser extent, Scion, where Farley previously served as corporate manager. Imagine, for instance, ordering a new MKC with a large Lincoln insignia embossed into the leather seatbacks, according to Automotive News.
While we're not so sure anybody is all that interested in paying extra for more Lincoln logos, it's a strategy that has proven rather fruitful at Mini. Only time will tell if Ford's erstwhile luxury division will once again be seen as something truly worth reaching for, and if customers are willing to pay a further premium for customization.
Mulally wanted to kill Lincoln as late as last year, Fields vows to turn it around
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Lincoln fans might want to give incoming Ford CEO Mark Fields a pat on the back for having a hand in saving the brand from the chopping block last year. He's among the people spearheading the rejuvenation of the division away from its stodgy image to appeal to younger customers.
According to two unnamed sources speaking to Bloomberg, CEO Alan Mulally was ready to kill Lincoln last year. Following the slow production ramp-up of the MKZ combined a with a costly ad campaign, Mulally was frustrated and openly suggested dropping the brand. However, Fields and Jim Farley, Ford's marketing boss, convinced the CEO that the brand was worth saving. They also created a plan to prevent similar problems for new models in the future.
It seems that one part of the strategy may involve waiting until new models are at dealers before starting a big ad campaign for them. Lincoln global director, Matt VanDyke, recently told Autoblog that the division is holding off on a full marketing push behind the new MKC crossover to prevent the supply problems that plagued the MKZ last year. Its big offensive begins in the fall when the CUVs are at all of the dealers and consumers are at home watching more TV. VanDyke also told Bloomberg that Fields, Farley and Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, have more direct oversight over new product launches now.
Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln
Sat, 26 Jul 2014
Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
