Here is the chance to own a near museum quality, barn find, rare Lincoln Town Car. The car was originally purchased by an elderly couple who drove it for the first few years. The car was then left to their son who did not like the car so he put the car in his neighbor's barn where it sat for many years. It was started and run every few months but never left the barn. The owner finally just asked his neighbor if he wanted it and so the neighbor bought the car. This owner drove the car for a short time installed new brakes and then decided to put the car up for sale. I purchased the car and drove it from central Illinois to my home in South Bend, In. I had my mechanic go though the car and had the transmission seals changed, the wheel cylinders changed, a leaking power steering hose replaced; changed one of the converters and had a new exhaust system installed. I also just installed brand new Firestone tires all the way around. The pictures do not do the car justice. I have now driven the car almost 2000 miles. I take it on the highway everyday back and forth to work and it drives like a dream. It is truly just like driving a new car back in 1988. It is the signature series which is the middle trim series. You will not be disappointed in any way. Except for the work that has been done recently the car is all original. The a/c which is still on the R-12 system is ice cold. It comes equipped with power steering, brakes, windows, locks, seats, auto lamp and auto dimming; all which work as they are supposed too. The car drives straight as an arrow and cruises effortlessly down the road. The emergency brake even works as it is supposed too. There is no rust on the car and the cloth top looks just like it was installed yesterday. Check out the picture of the top up close, the seams are tight with no fading or tearing. The only thing that does not work as it should is the thermometer in the drivers mirror. It registers about 20 to 30 degrees higher than it should. The clock keeps perfect time.
The only mechanical issue with the car is a tiny, tiny, exhaust leak on the passenger side. It is either coming from the manifold itself or the riser pipe. You can only hear it if there is dead silence in the car. You have to listen for it. You cannot hear it if the windows are open or the air or radio is on. I thought about getting it fixed but I simply do not think it is bad enough to start tearing into engine.
The only cosmetic issue with the car is a small tear about a half inch long. It is not noticeable unless you look for it. I actually did not find it until I got the car home and had it for a few weeks. There are no dings or dents in the body and there is only one very light scratch about 2 inches long on the left rear quarter panel. There is some pitting around the headlights but this is from being driven at highway speeds, every one has them. The paint is glossy and deep. Many of these cars have paint issues on the right side of the hood where the clear coat wears off. This one is near flawless.
I bought this car with every intention of keeping it forever. This is my favorite Town Car. I do not have to sell the car but I have a chance to invest in some real estate and would like a little extra cash on hand. If this car was in a dealer showroom they would be asking anywhere from $12,000 to $15,000. My reserve is set well below the $10,000 mark. I am not asking for a pie in the sky price but would like to make a few bucks on it. If I don't get my reserve I will simply keep it.

Lincoln Chauffeur service will drive you around and do your shopping
Wed, Apr 12 2017Lincoln is launching a unique service in Miami this year called Lincoln Chauffeur, and it does exactly what you'd expect. Any Lincoln owner can request someone via an app to come to their house and drive him or her wherever they'd like. That driver will then drive the car back. Lincoln pointed out this will allow other household members to use the car, and even helps avoid having to pay for parking when going to the airport. A representative said that a driver could be sent to a bar or restaurant to pick up a car left in favor of a cab after drinking. In addition to driving you to a location, the driver can also go and fill up your Lincoln with fuel and run other errands. Need some groceries? Your Lincoln driver can do that. And the Lincoln drivers are employed and vetted by Lincoln. If you find a driver you like, you can also request that person and Lincoln will try to accommodate your request. The service is currently in the pilot stage and only available in Miami. The next city that will get access to the service is San Diego. However, the plan is to continue expanding. It's also available for all Lincoln owners, new and old, not just members of Lincoln Black Label. Buyers of any new Lincoln will be given the equivalent of eight hours free in the service. This is a significant perk, since Lincoln said the estimated cost is $30 per hour of use at the current pilot pricing. Related Video:
Lexus ES 350 vs. Lincoln MKZ
Tue, Jun 6 2017Despite a lineup of well-received crossovers on the Lexus showroom, the midsize Lexus ES 350 four-door continues to appeal to consumers. Many of those customers are older, so you won't see marketing budgets directed toward them; no one, other than the pharmaceutical companies, is spending money marketing to baby boomers. But a midsize, moderately expressive sedan with an easy buying experience and almost coddled ownership still has its fans, and the Lexus ES 350 delivers those attributes in spades. We'd like to say Lincoln's MKZ (pictured above) is hot on the Lexus' heels, but Lincoln's lineup remains a work in progress. The Fusion-based MKZ offers a nice mix of attributes, but Lincoln's dealer count has shrunk, and many Lincoln outlets are located within – or immediately adjacent to – Ford stores. If a Fusion-based Lincoln credibly aspires to Lexus-like attributes, the same won't be said for the Ford showrooms. Here are the offerings: The Lexus ES 350 team has, over the sedan's several variations, worked hard to separate the volume Lexus from Toyota's similar Camry, and in 2017 that separation might actually be quantifiable. To its credit, the ES 350 (pictured at left) comes with but one non-hybrid drivetrain, a 3.5 liter V6 connected to a six-speed automatic driving the front wheels. With it, the ES 350 delivers a motoring experience bordering on the sublime. With the exception of its now-predictable big mouth grille, the balance of the ES sheetmetal is responsibly muted, inoffensive to the eye and should wear well through the typical payment cycle. Access to its moderately upscale interior is easy, and once inside you'll find expansive room (some 100 cubic feet) for four, along with adequate space for the occasional fifth. With a curb weight of just 3,600 pounds, the V6's 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque is responsive, and that's evident in the four-door's 7-second sprint to 60. This isn't a track day or autocross weapon, but if part of your day is a stressful commute, this will make it less so. With a base – albeit well appointed – spec, the ES 350 retails for just under $40,000. We would order ours in Atomic Silver, even if "atomic" seems so last-century. If you can forget – for a minute – the Matthew McConaughey connection, know that Lincoln's MKZ is fully credible as a midsize, mid-fashion sedan. If you like your Fords with more expressive interiors and additional driving refinement, there's a lot to like in Lincoln's MKZ.
Lincoln MKC Concept shows real promise [w/video]
Sun, 13 Jan 2013Ford's efforts to resuscitate its moribund Lincoln luxury brand began in earnest with the introduction of its 2014 MKZ sedan, a model many labeled as the marque's make-or-break offering. Of course, one model does not a comeback make, and with the MKZ just now starting to trickle into dealers, it will be some time before America's jury of consumers comes in with their judgment. More to the point, it's likely to take better than a decade's worth of products and sustained marketing effort to even begin to figure out whether Lincoln has a shot at redemption or if it will die of Mercury poisoning. After all, rival General Motors has been pouring resources into Cadillac since the late '90s, and if the sales charts are any guidance, it's still probably too early to declare its rebirth a success.
Certainly, a brand with Ford's resources, free of distractions (read: the now-defunct Premier Auto Group and various other side projects) should be able to successfully market a single luxury brand, particularly one with such a rich - if distant - history. Especially now with the Blue Oval enjoying more consumer goodwill than at any time in recent history. So let's all give Alan Mulally and friends a little room to work, eh?
We can start by focusing on the compact crossover seen before you, the Lincoln MKC Concept. Riding atop the same global C-platform that underpins the Ford C-Max, Escape and Focus, the MKC showcar here presages a production small CUV that will stick its distinctive nose into one of the auto industry's fastest-growing segments.
