Billings, Montana, United States

1998 Lincoln Mark VIII with the 4.6L 32 Valve V8. Strong running car. Doesn't use or leak any fluid. Has been regularly serviced every 3k miles. The faulty air suspension on these cars has been replaced a year ago with the coil over suspension and new KYB shocks in the rear. The oxygen sensors were replaced last year as well as the fuel pump. The car had all new coil packs and a tune up also done a year ago. Oil filter housing gasket was replaced two years ago. The brake roters were replaced two years ago. The blend door actuator was replaced also, car has excellent AC and heat. Coolant was flushed last year, the transmission has been serviced with a new filter and fluid less than 10,000 miles ago. The alternator was rebuilt by a local shop at 84k miles and a new automatic tensoner and idle pully was also put on at the time with a new motorcraft belt. Passenger mirror plastic is off of the mirror a little due to someone hitting it with their mirror. Still works fine. Car has some minor dings and scratches with the year of the vehicle, all in the norm. The drivers seat has some wear to it as well. Rest of the interior is great. Factory 10 disc cd changer works as well, comes with spare JBL amp, and a couple of spare HID headlight bulbs. Car Runs good & strong, the only reason I'm selling the car is the fact that I've owned two Mark VIII's in the previous 10 years and have ran into needing to get a larger vehicle for work. I would drive this vehicle anywhere. The vehicle is being sold AS-IS, with no warranty expressed or implied. This is a great chance to own the last year of this great car. These cars if taken care of go 200k miles plus. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping.

Report: Lincoln getting all of Mercury's ad dollars

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

Now that the curtain has closed on Mercury, Ford Motor Company will redirect all of its marketing dollars for the oft-overlooked brand to the Blue Oval's luxury outpost, Lincoln. In speaking to Automotive News, the chairman of the Lincoln National Dealer Council, Bob Tasca, Jr., said, "You'll see a lot stronger presence in the advertising of Lincoln in 2011."
Lincoln spokesperson Christian Bokich reminded AN that the automaker is "preparing the way for seven new or significantly refreshed vehicles" that will be launched over the next four years, and the largest ad blitz in 2011 will focus on the refreshed MKX crossover, as well as the MKZ sedan and its hybrid counterpart. Following that, Lincoln has plans to launch a completely overhauled version of its Navigator SUV, an all-new C-segment vehicle and the overhauled 2013 MKZ, which Tasca says will be "strikingly different from its Ford Fusion sibling."

Why Lincoln says it's loving Ellen and Conan MKC ad spoofs [w/videos]

Mon, 13 Oct 2014

You would think that commercial being ridiculed across the Internet would be an advertising executive's worst nightmare, but that's not necessarily the case. At least not when it comes to Lincoln and its latest campaign to promote the new MKC.
The campaign features Matthew McConaughey channeling his characters from True Detective and The Lincoln Lawyer, and was quickly spoofed by both Conan O'Brien and Ellen DeGeneres. But instead of shaking their heads in dismay at the comedy talk-show hosts' take on their ad, Lincoln and its advertising firm Hudson Rouge welcome the free publicity.
"We're flattered. Just to get out into the public mind with parodies says you've achieved a certain amount of notoriety," Hudson Rouge CCO Jon Pearce told Automotive News. "It's hard to put a dollar amount on earned media. We couldn't ask for better."

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy

Tue, 07 May 2013

With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
