Wow Mark VIII what a car.  These Lincolns have the all aluminum 4 cam motor is cast in Italy.  We bought the car thinking we would use the motor in our road race Mustang, but decided it was too nice to dismantle just for the engine.  The car runs and shifts great and is really fast.  The body is good with no damage, other that a few nicks and scratches, the paint shows well for the age of the car.  Oddly enough this is one rusted place an the bottom behind the drivers door, and easy fix.  Most of all the air ride suspension is in good shape, working the way it should.

All in All this is a great running personal luxury car that has not been molested and is in original condition.  The car was owned by an executive that commuted 150 miles so I think the miles were mostly highway.  We have leased our warehouse and are selling lots of building materials, heaters, and collector cars and parts, so see my other auctions. I think one is able drive the car away but there is no tag.

Questions call 918-688-7747 PST

Those with less than 5 feedbacks need to contact me first, $300 dollars due upon purchase and the remainder due within 5 days by wire or cashiers check.  Local pick up only and needs to be gone within 2 weeks of end of auction.  We will keep in our fence-in lot.  Risk of loss shall be your responsibility, however I have had no losses in 12 years.  Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the listing early.

Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.

Ford is recalling more Takata airbag-equipped Ford and Lincoln models

Thu, Mar 2 2017

The Basics: Takata, the beleaguered airbag supplier at the root of the largest recall in automotive history, has informed Ford of a problem with the airbags in just over 30,000 Ford and Lincoln models. The problem is not related to the non-desiccated ammonium nitrate airbag inflators that plague the other airbags ( including many Fords), meaning there isn't a risk of shrapnel flying out from the units in this particular recall. The Problem: In the event of an accident, the front airbags may only partially inflate, and the airbag may become detached from the module because of misaligned parts. The problem affects 2016 and 2017 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models built at the Oakville Assembly Plant. The issue also affects 2017 Lincoln Continentals that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Injuries/Deaths: In a release, Ford stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths related to the airbag issue. The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag module at no cost. If You Own One: Sit tight and wait for Ford to notify owners. When that happens, take your car to the dealer for a replacement. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy

Tue, 07 May 2013

With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
