Up for auction is my 1990 Lincoln Mark 7 LSC. I am the 3rd owner of the car. Purchased from the 2nd owner a couple months ago. He has owned it since it had 14,000 miles. Runs and drives good. Paint is really nice considering how bad the paint was on the Mark 7. Has a spot on the roof that the clear has faded. Has the normal Lincoln rust ( see Pictures ). I have owned 50 Mark 7's, this would be 51. Nice running car, 137,000 miles. That will change because I am driving it from time to time. It is not rusty up near the rear windows like most of them do. Has a nice Kenwood stereo with speakers and Amp. Windows work, keyless entry works, auto dimming headlights work, even has a working tripminder. Also has a coil spring conversion kit, so no air bags to worry about. I don't need to sell it but though I would see if anybody would like this one. Just passed Pennsylvania Inspection. Has a minor exhaust leak. Any questions shot me an message. J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.
2016 Lincoln MKX spied in production form
Wed, Dec 17 2014We're getting our first quality look at the next-generation Lincoln MKX in production guise thanks to these fresh spy shots, and they suggest styling that hews very closely to the concept from earlier this year. Compared to the showcar, the headlights aren't quite as well integrated into the grille, but these LED units still attempt to nicely wrap the split-wing grille across the entire face of the vehicle. Beyond that, the two vehicles quite similar, though. The shape of the lower air dam is practically identical – just with some extra plastic for the production version. The hint of a character line running down the side also makes the resemblance easy to spot, despite this tester's polka-dot camouflage. At the rear, the taillights stretch across the hatch with integrated exhaust outlets below. Even the twin-spoke wheels are comparable to the concept. Also, look carefully at these spy shots, and you can notice Lincoln apparently testing two different trims. One has LED headlights with front and rear parking sensors (pictured above), and the other shows projector lights with the sensors only at the rear. The next-gen MKX will launch in 2015 and will be the first model in Lincoln's lineup to benefit from the deal with Harman to use its high-end Revel audio system.
