Offered here in a NO RESERVE auction is a 1979 Bill Blass edition Lincoln Mark V. I have owned this beautiful automobile for over 10 years. During that time the car has been dependable and well cared for. The 400cu. V8 engine runs strong. Transmission shifts smoothly. Body work is pretty much done. Many new parts, including new gas tank, fuel lines, and float last year. Car body is straight. Body side moldings are in remarkable condition. These are usually dinged to death on most cars from this era. Not so here. Beautiful chrome overall. One exception is the passenger side mirror. Chrome on that mirror is fair at best. Car has upgraded Collector Series Ebony wood interior. RARE WORKING AM/FM CASSETTE RADIO. Power windows, antenna, and trunk release work. AC blows COLD. Leather interior is in great shape for its age. Coveted driver side thermometer mirror works! Is illuminated at night. Last year I moved to a lakefront home so this year I am selling my land yacht so I can buy a real boat.
Features that don't work. Power door locks. I replaced the actuators a few years back so its probably the switches on the door panel. Power seats have limited adjustment. Speed control worked until I replaced the steering wheel with one from a Collector Series car. So again, its probably just the switch in the steering wheel pad. This is a used, 35 year old automobile, and as such does not have a warranty. There are typical age related imperfections inside and out. There is a small tear in the headliner above the driver side sun visor. The fiberglass fascia beneath the driver side headlamp cover is cracked. This damage was done by the mechanic shop that rebuilt the carburator some years back. I have a complete new fascia in white that will come with the car if you want it. Pictures of these imperfections have been provided for you to review. I also have the rocker panel moldings that were removed when the body work was done. They are in fair shape and will be included.
The canvas top has been replaced and looks beautiful. But car must now be hand-washed. Do not run it through a high pressure car wash. While the car is weathertight and will not leak even in a torrential rain, a commercial high pressure wash will cause water to penetrate the door windows at their top edges. I have tried to cover all possible questions about the car. If you have a question please contact me. I have a clear NC title on hand.
TERMS OF SALE. A $250 deposit is due within 24 hours after auction ends. Full payment is due within 7 days of auction end. Payment may be made via PayPal, CASH or a Cashier's Check. However, car will not be released until the Cashier's Check has cleared my bank. Car must be picked up within 14 days, unless other arrangements are made. Buyer is responsible for pickup or for arranging alternate transport of the vehicle. For the purpose of obtaining a delivery quote from a car hauler the vehicle is located in Gaston, NC 27832. Site of vehicle is 10 miles west of I-95 off of Route 46 west. Car is also being offered for sale locally. Seller reserves the right to end the listing early unless a bid has already been placed. In that instance the car will remain on ebay and the highest bidder will take this baby home. Thank you for taking the time to review my listing. Good luck bidding!

Lincoln plans pilot subscription service for pre-owned vehicles

Fri, Mar 30 2018

Lincoln's foray into the world of monthly subscriptions will follow the mold of Ford's Canvas program and launch a pilot service offering a range of pre-owned 2017 Lincoln vehicles in West Los Angeles and the San Francisco area. Lincoln first announced plans for a subscription service on the sidelines of the L.A. Auto Show. The luxury automaker says its new service will allow customers to have a vehicle "as if it were their own," with a monthly payment that covers a prescribed mileage package and includes comprehensive insurance, warranty, maintenance and roadside assistance. It'll be based on Ford's nearly year-old Canvas program, also offered in the Bay Area and West Los Angeles. It offers pre-owned Ford vehicles on a monthly subscription basis, including insurance, maintenance and warranty coverage. Terms for that program are one to 12 months, with an ability to swap cars at any time. While Lincoln didn't announced pricing or a start date for its own subscription program, Canvas' existing service starts at $400 a month, not including tax and depending on vehicle and other options, for pre-owned Ford vehicles. Ford in February said its Canvas fleet has more than 600 customers who've logged more than 3 million miles in the two markets. Lincoln joins a growing list of automakers including Volvo, Cadillac and Porsche who are offering monthly subscription services as an alternative to traditional ownership or leasing. The subscription service will also come with Lincoln's Pickup & Delivery program, in which a valet picks up a customer's vehicle for service at any location and provides them with a loaner Lincoln before returning their vehicle. Lincoln also reiterated its plans to expand its Lincoln Personal Driver service first piloted in San Diego and Miami to Dallas, saying it will soon be integrated into the Lincoln Way mobile app. The service, previously called Lincoln Chauffeur, allows customers to call on a screened personal driver who can also assist with errands while the customers attend to other matters. The luxury brand is emphasizing "warm, human and effortless" services as a way to differentiate itself from its competitors. Lincoln MKC crossover adopts the Continental's grille

Thu, Jun 15 2017

The last vestiges of the controversial split Lincoln grille are slowly being removed as the company revamps its lineup. It started with the MKZ and Continental, with the most recent rhinoplasty recipient being the Navigator. Now, based on spy shots, it looks like the MKC crossover will be the fourth to get the new corporate grille. Under the heavy vinyl coverings, we can clearly see the proud Continental-inspired grille. We can also see that it will feature the same chrome mesh with Lincoln badge-shaped openings found on other cars with the grille design. We can also assume that the headlights will receive a substantial refresh, but the lower bumper doesn't look particularly different. The rest of this prototype MKC looks the same as the existing model. The back is covered, which indicates that the taillights may be updated. We wouldn't expect a radically different look, since the MKC already has a full-width taillight treatment. We also noticed that the wheels appear to be inspired by the cool turbine wheels of the Navigator. Whatever the other changes are, we'll probably see them soon. This is clearly just a refresh, and so there's a good chance we'll see the production model revealed by the end of the year, or early next year at the latest. Related Video:

Mustang parts under the new Lincoln Aviator mean good things for Ford

Wed, Mar 28 2018

NEW YORK — As we mentioned last night, underneath the new Lincoln Aviator "concept" there appears to be an independent rear suspension lifted right from the Ford Mustang parts bin. And while it's pretty cool on its face that Mustang rear-drive platform bits are being reused in the broader Ford universe, what this means for the next Explorer could be really cool. A quick caveat: The Aviator here in New York is very close to the production version, but it's not technically a production car. It looks hand-built, with temporary exhaust and some show-car touches. The suspension underneath looks exactly like a Mustang's, but the actual production Aviator will almost certainly use beefier components with the same basic design and geometry, since the Aviator will be much heavier than the smaller Mustang. That being said, we're fairly confident that even at this early stage, the Mustang-derived suspension seen in New York is a preview of what'll be under the production Aviator. Furthermore, Ford won't say it, but based on what we're seeing on Aviator, it's a safe bet that Ford will utilize the Aviator platform for the next Explorer. That would enable the economies of scale necessary to produce a brand new rear-drive-based SUV platform in the first place. It also means that the Explorer should be available without AWD — and given the stable of powerful EcoBoost engines, and the competent 10-speed automatic in the parts bin, a rear-drive Explorer has a shot at being a decent driver. Aviator wouldn't go rear-drive-based if driving dynamics weren't important; Explorer should inherit these priorities. More evidence: The Explorer spy shots we saw back in February sure share the Aviator's general proportions. Even back then, before Aviator was revealed, we were hypothesizing that an EcoBoost 3.5-liter-powered version could boast as much as 400 horsepower, if the Expedition's tune were adopted. Suddenly, the Explorer seems very interesting. So, an EcoBoost, rear-drive Explorer sure sounds like something Ford Performance would be interested in, right? We knew an Explorer ST is coming, but with 365-400 horsepower potential and a chassis designed with dynamics in mind, it doesn't seem like as much of a stretch as the Edge ST. And a performance-oriented AWD system is a possibility, too. That's an area where Ford has been gathering experience at a rapid pace. What do we not expect from a new Explorer? A V8.
