IT IS SHOW READY AND HAS BEEN TO LOCAL SHOWS ON MANY OCCASIONS. THERE IS NOTHING THIS CAR NEEDS TO CONTINUE SHOWING."

THANKS FOR VIEWING. AFTER MANY YEARS OF OWNERSHIP,  I NOW DECIDED TO SELL  THIS CAR I HAVE CHERISHED.   I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A CONDITION THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO WORK ON ANY OF MY OLD CARS---THAT'S THE ONLY REASON I AM SELLING.  THIS CAR HAS BEEN ADULT OWNED ALL IT'S LIFE AND NEVER HAD KIDS IN IT.  THE INTERIOR IS 98% PERFECT AND ONLY SHOW THE SLIGHTEST SIGN OF USE ON THE DRIVERS SEAT.  THE BACK SEAT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS NEVER BEEN SAT ON.  ALL THE GLASS IS PERFECT, THE ORIGINAL PADDED DASH IS PERFECT, CARPETS PRFECT. THE PADDED TOP IS PERFECT,  ALL THE TRIM IS VERY NICE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW DOOR DINGS IN THE WHEEL TRIM PIECES, EASY TO REPLACE---BUT THEN IT WOULD NOT BE ABSOLUTELY ORIGINAL.  BEWARE OF THOSE "RESTORED CARS", MOST OFTEN THEY NEEDED RESTORATION BECAUSE OF THINGS THE SELLER DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT. THIS IS NOT A RESTORED CAR. IN MY 8 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP I HAVE DONE THE FOLLOWING, (SOME MORE RECENT THAN OTHERS):  BRAKES ALL AROUND, (HYDRAULICS ARE FINE). ALL BELTS AND HOSES, WATERPUMP, FUEL PUMP, ADDED A LARGER FUEL FILTER AT THE REAR OF FUEL TANK.WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE BEEN UPGRADED TO USE THE UNITS FROM A MODEL HAVING WIND WING GLASS. THE ORIGINAL PIECES WERE MADE OF PLASTIC AND FAIL OVER TIME. THE NEW ONES ARE METAL. WINDOWS GO UP/DOWM AS ONE SHOULD EXPECT,  NICE AND SMOOTH.ALL EXHAUST HAS BEEN REPLACED FROM THE CATYLITIC CONVERTERS BACK AND ELIMINATING THE RESONATORS, STILL FACTORY QUIET SOUND. THE MASSIVE 4 BBL CARB WAS REPLACED WITH A 2 BBL TO GREATLY IMPROVE MILEAGE. THE ORIGINAL CARBS WERE TROUBLESOME WHEN NOT USED REGULARLY.  THE ORIGINAL CARB GOES WITH THE CAR AS WELL AS ANY PART CHANGED IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE IT MORE USER FRIENDLY.  THE UNDERHOOD IS  AS  CLEAN AS A CAR MUCH YOUNGER.  THIS CAR CAN BE RETURNED TO ABSOLUTE ORIGINAL WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT. CAR WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN SACREMENTO AND THERE IS A NICE STORY TO GO WITH THAT.  I STILL HAVE THE  BOX OF TISSUES  THE LITTLE OLD LADY USED BEFORE SHE DIED, IT WAS IN THE CAR.  FEEL FREE TO DISCUSS ANY CONCERNS NOT MENTIONED HERE.  AS WITH ANY EBAY PURCHASE, BE SURE YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH.  THE SALE SHOULD MAKE BOTH PARTIES HAPPY.

THINGS TO DO: WILL NEED A COMPRESSOR SEAL, LEAKS FROM SITTING TOO LONG. I DO NOT USE IT IN OUR BRUTAL SUMMERS. THE A/C HAS BEEN MODIFIED FOR COLDER OUTPUT, CONVERTED TO 134A AND TO A CLUTCH CYCLING FUNCTION RETAINING THE CLIMATE CONTROL  SYSTEM.  CAPABLE OF EXTREME COLD OUTPUT.  COULD USE A NEW FRONT PUMP SEAL IN THE TRANSMISSION. I WILL FURNISH THE "AMERICAN MADE" PARTS. I DO NOT USE THIS CAR DURING OUR SUMMERS BECAUSE OF OUR SEVERE HEAT AND REDICULOUS CONSTANT  SUNSHINE!  NEITHER OF THESE WILL PREVENT YOU FROM GOING TO CARSHOWS.

EXTRA PARTS INCLUDE 2 USED, (BUT SUITABLE FOR RECHROMING), BUMPERS.   EXTRA H/LITE SWITCH.  BE PREPARED TO TAKE THESE EXTRAS WITH YOU.   THE SALE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE NEW WHEELS AND TIRES, BUT, WILL INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL WHEELS,   PRISTINE HUBCAPS,   AND NEAR NEW SET OF TIRES. THE NEW WHEEL/TIRE PACKAGE CAN BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY FOR THEIR ACTUAL COST OF JUST UNDER $1600.  THE WHEELS ARE AMERICAN MAG,  MODEL "505',  THE TIRES ARE BFG RADIAL TA'S, 400 MILES ON THEM.  PLEASE BE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE BIDDING. I VERY SINCERELY ASK YOU TO INSPECT THIS CAR----THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE-----IT IS NOT A FIXER-UPPER! TAKE A CHEAP FLIGHT, BUS SERVICE ALMOST TO MY DOOR.   PLEASE USE THE "CONTACT SELLER" FEATURE TO ASK ANY QUESTION. I AM RETIRED AND WILL ANSWER BACK ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WHEN POSSIBLE.  I CAN TAKE MORE PICTS IF NEEDED.  PLEASE NOTE, I AM HEARING IMPAIRED. EMAILS, TEXTS OR COMBINATION OF BOTH IS BEST,   CALLS----SPEAK UP WITH NO ACCENTS----NO HABLO ESPANOL---NO---NO---NO!

THIS CAR CAN BE DRIVEN HOME, BUT DUE TO WEATHER PATTERNS I WOULD SUGGEST AN ENCLOSED HAULER

From Expedition to Navigator: our predictions for Lincoln's SUV

Tue, Feb 7 2017

In the midst of all the buzz surrounding the new aluminum Ford Expedition and Expedition Max, we remembered the other large SUV the Ford Motor Company showed last year, the Lincoln Navigator concept. And since the Navigator has historically been built on the Expedition platform, we figured there's no better time to focus some of our predictions for the big Lincoln. First off, let's take a look at design. Having seen the new Expedition, we're fairly confident that the Navigator will look almost exactly like its concept. The strong similarities between two mean the Expedition serves as a preview of what a production Navigator will look like. For example, both vehicles' greenhouses we can see that the shape of the C-pillars are nearly identical. The only difference is that the Expedition's are painted body color, while the Navigator's are painted black. Additionally, the character line running along the top of the doors on both vehicles is roughly the same height. The same goes for the more subtle crease near the bottom of the doors. We also see no reason why Lincoln wouldn't use the full width taillights, fender vent, and grille treatment it used on the concept. Those are all easy design changes to create differentiation, and they're all right inline with the cues set by the Continental. View 15 Photos For powertrain, we're pretty certain the 400-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 previewed on the concept is a certainty now. The Expedition and Expedition Max will be offered with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost as well, so we know it will fit. We expect the Expedition's engine will produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque as it does in the F-150. That's less power than the Navigator concept, but it would be reasonable to make the production Navigator a bit more powerful than its lowly Ford brethren to help justify the increased price tag. Towing capacity will probably be about the same between the Ford and Lincoln, which should be something over 9,000 pounds. The Navigator will probably use the same two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrains, too. Inside is where the Expedition and Navigator will likely differ the most, particularly in seating. The Expedition offers seating for up to eight with an available second-row bench seat, and the Navigator concept had captain's chairs for every row. We're expecting the Navigator will only offer second-row captain's chairs since the cramped third row would be a waste of nice buckets.

Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks

Sun, 31 Mar 2013

Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.

Sell your own: 2002 Lincoln LS V8

Looking to sell your car? We make it easy and free. Quickly create listings with up to six photos and reach millions of buyers. Log in and create your free listings. Ford Motor Company has been a global concern almost as long as there has been a 'Motor Company'. And while it is omnipresent in most corners of the globe, few things spoke to that globalization more than Ford's purchase of Jaguar and Land Rover near the end of the last century. And with that purchase came shared platform opportunities, some of which didn't work (Jaguar's X-Type is the most notable, whose platform was shared with the Ford Mondeo), and some that did. We'll focus on one that did: Jaguar's S-Type, whose engineering was common to the Lincoln LS. Sales didn't set the world on fire for either model, but there is something ageless about both; the Jag embraced a neo-classic theme, while Lincoln's LS is almost timeless within its 3-box, slab-sided architecture. This for-sale example, located in Melbourne, Fla., looks to be in nice condition. If the mileage is accurate and the Carfax reasonably clean, it should provide miles and years of motoring pleasure, even if only driving to your rheumatologist. The LS borders on being a quiet collectible, with less obvious pleasure in the viewing, more obvious delight in the driving; that's especially true with this model's V8.
