1970 Lincoln Mark Iii Exceptional Condition In/out And Ready To Drive Anywhere on 2040-cars
Shelbyville, Tennessee, United States
I am offering one of my four personal Lincoln Mark III's for sale. It is very difficult to chose which one to sell as I love each one of them for slightly different reasons which have nothing to do with condition, as each one is truly exceptional, but relates to my personal attachment to each. Being a car person my entire life, it becomes all too easy to collect up more than you have room to physically accommodate and so I find myself trying to cut back a sniff as I have recently accumulated a few vintage 4WD's. This particular Mark, which I refer to as "Roy", was originally owned by the Lincoln Dealer who ordered it new and kept it until his death when it then passed to his son. I searched the entire country, and I mean every single state, when I was buying these cars up and chose this one because of it's history and exceptional condition inside, outside, and mechanically. This car could easily be driven cross country and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere I had gas money to go as it needs nothing. If time had permitted I would have flown to Washington and driven him home as I find myself looking for reasons to drive anywhere in one and always wish for a few more miles before getting home. I have personally driven it over 5000 miles since owning and that includes both summer and winter driving. Every last option on this car functions factory new from the electric antenna to the hide-away headlights, which will stay closed indefinitely and that is rare. The Automatic Temperature Control knows exactly when to change from A/C to Heat and the optional Rear Window Defogger works perfectly. The Factory Cruise Control sets and holds the speed perfectly and the with the tilt wheel and 6 way power seats(driver and passenger), you can cruise down the road in extreme comfort. The steering is tight and responsive and the brakes stop perfectly so driving this baby is a dream. The only items that do not work are the two small rear quarter windows. As seen in the pictures, I have changed out the original 15 inch steel wheels and hubcaps for a slightly different look but will be including the original wheels/hubcaps with the sale. The trunk and engine compartment are both in the same exceptional condition as the entire car and the spare tire is brand new. The interior presents as nearly new and there are no rips or tears anywhere to be found. The rear seat has rarely seen a butt and every ash tray is virgin. The original Calvary Twill vinyl roof is just about perfect and like most of these with original roofs still in place, it adds a formal look that no other can compare. These Lincoln Mark III's were absolutely one of the finest cars ever engineered/built by any auto maker and owning/driving them is one of life's greatest pleasures in a car. While these beautiful cars came in a wide range of colors, it is very hard to find any color with more class than White with Black. Take a look at the many pictures and feel free to call david @ 931.639.3926 with any specific questions you may have. Fly in and Drive home. This car is represented honestly/accurately as it sits this moment but there is no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied.

Chief designer for Lincoln Aviator SUV is brand's new design director
Fri, Sep 27 2019The man behind the looks of cars like the 50th anniversary 2015 Ford Mustang, the current-generation Lincoln Continental and the luxury division’s new 2020 Aviator SUV is LincolnÂ’s newest design director. Kemal Curic replaces David Woodhouse, who left earlier this year and is now a vice president overseeing design at Nissan and Infiniti. Curic, 41, was born in Sarajevo and grew up in Germany and Croatia. He began his career with Ford of Europe in 2003 after earning a bachelorÂ’s degree in industrial design and a masterÂ’s in transportation design in Germany. There, he worked on the European version of the Fiesta, the Mondeo (the European version of the Fusion) and the Kuga compact SUV. aviator-4 View 38 Photos In 2010, Curic won a global sketch competition Ford created to pick a designer for the 50th anniversary Mustang. He moved to FordÂ’s headquarters in Dearborn, where he joined the design team for the 2015 Ford Mustang, which won the EyesOn Design award for Best Production Vehicle at the 2014 Detroit auto show. Curic became exterior design manager in 2014 for the reborn Lincoln Continental sedan, then lead the overhaul of the brandÂ’s design language. He became chief designer for the three-row Aviator, which debuted at the 2018 L.A. Auto Show, and he served a lead exterior designer on the all-new 2020 Corsair, LincolnÂ’s compact crossover that was formerly known as the MKC. In an interview earlier this month with Truck Trend, Curic talked about how the midsize Aviator exemplifies LincolnÂ’s new design ethos. “This is the anti-wedge, which is very elegant,” he said. “If you think about cars of the 1960s, they had that exuberant attitude with more anti-wedge than most vehicles today. Think about the angle of attack of an airplane. You have this gliding gesture, sort of leaning back. The anti-wedge, a teardrop shape, is also the most optimized shape for aerodynamics.” Curic has said he was captivated by American cars as a child growing up in Europe, and he told Truck Trend that he grew up doodling cars in his notebooks at school, which sometimes got him in trouble and made his parents worry. HeÂ’ll reportedly split his time between Dearborn and LincolnÂ’s design studio in Irvine, California, where he lives with his family.
Ford recalling 830,000 vehicles to replace side door latches
Thu, Aug 4 2016The Basics: Ford is conducting a recall for roughly 830,000 models. The affected vehicles include the 2013 to 2015 Ford C-Max, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus, 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape, 2015 Lincoln MKC, 2015 Ford Mustang, and 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect. The recall is focused primarily in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon as the problem mostly affects cars in states with warm weather. The Problem: The pawl spring tab in the side door latch in the affected vehicles could break, preventing the door from latching and could even cause the door to open while driving. Injuries/Deaths: There is one reported injury and one reported accident. The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected cars' side door latches. If you own one: Reach out to your local Ford dealer to schedule a service. Ford gets out of car subscriptions, sells Canvas to rival Fair
Tue, Sep 17 2019Ford says it’s selling its Canvas subscription service to competitor Fair, getting out of the subscription game after less than three years. Terms of the deal were not announced. Ford acquired Canvas in 2016 as a wholly-owned subsidiary based in San Francisco as a service to pilot subscriptions to Ford and Lincoln vehicles, eventually rolling out to Los Angeles and Dallas. The company said it had amassed around 3,800 subscribers in that time, who will have the opportunity to join Fair when their current subscriptions end and will receive more information from both subscription companies. But that number pales in comparison with Santa Monica, California-based Fair, which claims more than 45,000 subscriptions in 30 markets since launching in 2017. Ford was always fairly quiet about Canvas, and Automotive News last year reported that Lincoln executives expressed surprise over soft demand, saying that subscribers were looking for short-term solutions and often dropped out after just a few months. Ford is also in cost-cutting mode under CEO Jim HackettÂ’s $11 billion restructuring plan. The Blue Oval joins Cadillac, which put its $1,800-a-month Book By Cadillac subscription service on ice late last year, citing higher costs and fewer customers than expected. Cadillac has pledged to eventually relaunch the service as a pilot in select cities, but mumÂ’s been the word since. More recently, VolvoÂ’s Care by Volvo subscription service has come under scrutiny from dealers and an investigation from the California Department of Motor Vehicles and has made changes to its program. Thought it also has added the XC60, XC90 and V60 to the list of available vehicles. Fair touts itself as a “commitment-free” solution, with all-inclusive plans covering 24-7 roadside assistance, routine maintenance, insurance and other perks. It uses a mobile app to get customers prequalified, and it analyzes their eligibility and targets an affordable range of monthly payments. Customers then shop for cars and sign up for one via an initial payment that ranges by vehicle type, with the ability to keep the cars as long as they want and drop the service at any time. It peddles used cars from more than 30 different brands, none more than six years old or with more than 70,000 miles on the odometer. Fair on Tuesday announced it has raised $500 million in loans from a group of creditors, including Mizuho Bank and Japan's SoftBank, as it looks to expand its leasing services to Uber drivers.
