Offered for sale is this immaculate 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark 2. Vehicle is in Near Perfect condition with just very minor flaws that could be easily and affordably fixed. They are a slight outward bend to the lower part of the left rear bumper caused by a mechanic jacking the car at the wrong point on the bumper, the original oil filter has been upgraded to accept stand alone canister type filters, and the interior metal trim under hood, trunk and doors needs to be painted to match newer paint on exterior. Paint will be provided for this.
Car is Second owner and has been owned by current owner for the past 40 years. It has always been garaged and is in excellent running condition. Has original generator and brand new period correct battery. The interior is brand new and was done with the exact same type of leather(from Scotland)as the original. Carpets are original as are the floor mats. Mechanically, car is in excellent condition. Original 368 cubic inch 4bbl carberator engine burns NO oil, Transmission shifts very nice and chassis is sound and very clean. A California car it's entire life with no rust. This beauty is just looking for a great home and to be driven to the local drive in or car show for some serious showing off. Stops Traffic everywhere it goes. Comes with original owner's manual and custom car cover(see trunk pic). Also includes remnants of the two colors of leather for any repair work and nearly one gallon of the factory white paint with original Black with Yellow lettering California License Plates. |

Ford is recalling more Takata airbag-equipped Ford and Lincoln models
Thu, Mar 2 2017The Basics: Takata, the beleaguered airbag supplier at the root of the largest recall in automotive history, has informed Ford of a problem with the airbags in just over 30,000 Ford and Lincoln models. The problem is not related to the non-desiccated ammonium nitrate airbag inflators that plague the other airbags ( including many Fords), meaning there isn't a risk of shrapnel flying out from the units in this particular recall. The Problem: In the event of an accident, the front airbags may only partially inflate, and the airbag may become detached from the module because of misaligned parts. The problem affects 2016 and 2017 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models built at the Oakville Assembly Plant. The issue also affects 2017 Lincoln Continentals that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Injuries/Deaths: In a release, Ford stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths related to the airbag issue. The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag module at no cost. If You Own One: Sit tight and wait for Ford to notify owners. Lincoln Navigator facelift only has to last until 2016 replacement
Thu, 21 Aug 2014The Navigator is not only Lincoln's longest-serving nameplate - dating back to 1998 when the final Town Car was introduced - but it's also the oldest model still in the brand's portfolio. The current Navigator arrived on the market in 2007, and underwent a refresh just a few months ago for the 2015 model year. The updates were subtle, but if you're waiting for an all-new model, it's just a couple of years down the road.
According to Automotive News, Lincoln is already working on an all-new replacement for the current, long-serving Navigator, which will be revealed two years from now in the middle of 2016 as a 2017 model. At that point, we're expecting it could switch (alongside the Expedition) to the new aluminum architecture introduced on the Ford F-150, seeing as how the current model is based on the old F-150.
In the meantime, the refreshed Navigator ditches the big 5.4-liter Triton V8 in favor of a more economical 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and wages war in two wheelbase lengths against the V8-powered competition in the form of the Cadillac Escalade (and Escalade ESV), the Land Cruiser-based Lexus LX and the Infiniti QX80, which is based on the overseas Nissan Patrol.
