The 2007 Lincoln MKZ mid-size sedan (formerly known as the Zephyr) is long on luxury, comfort, and quiet. It is available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and both versions are stacked with standard luxury items including dual zone automatic temperature control, wood trim, heated and air conditioned front seats with power adjusters, 17-inch alloy wheels, and leather seating surfaces.Even more luxury is available through the MKZ's extensive options list. Adding a power moonroof, DVD-based navigation, THX-quality sound, cooled front seats, and high-intensity discharge headlights still keeps the FWD MKZ affordable. The Lincoln MKZ may share its basic chassis with the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but under the hood is the modern Ford 3.5L Duratec V6 engine. It puts out 263 horsepower and a healthy 249 lb-ft of torque, whereas the optional V6 found in the Fusion and Milan remains the 221-horsepower 3.0L. Thanks to a six-speed automatic transmission, acceleration is right in line with the competition. The fuel economy is commendable for a 3,543-pound vehicle. The front-wheel drive MKZ gets 19/27 mpg city/highway and the AWD is rated at 18/26 by the EPA.The road manners of the MKZ are what you'd expect from a Lincoln. The cabin is quiet enough that we were really able to appreciate the marvelous sounds that emanated from the premium in-dash, six-CD audio system. The four-wheel ABS-equipped disc brakes provide good stops. Road feedback through the delightful leather steering wheel is excellent considering how smooth a ride these tires deliver.Aside from its supple ride, the MKZ stands apart from the competition in safety. No other mid-size luxury sedan offers the same level of equipment designed to protect you and yours. Of course you'll find dual stage front air bags; but there are also front seat-mounted bags and side curtain bags that protect all outboard occupants of the MKZ. Standard traction control helps keep the Duratec engine's power properly modulated to avoid wheel spin in slippery conditions. Keyless entry, and the key fob also has a panic button and remote trunk release. There is also an alarm system and remote auto start. The MKZ makes a great family vehicle for those who love the Lincoln look. If you value quiet, comfort, and plenty of passenger space in a stylish package, the MKZ is for you.

Lincoln MKX Concept goes for the gold in Beijing
Sun, 20 Apr 2014We've now seen the Lincoln MKX Concept in the metal, and we've shot it with the lenses of our own DSLR cameras. And we have to say, our opinion of the concept's design language has improved over our initial reaction. Yes, it's clear that this MKX shares its underpinnings with those of the Ford Edge Concept that we saw in LA, but the changes made by Lincoln stylists are a welcome departure from the angular lines of its corporate cousin from The Blue Oval.
We like the subtlety of the MKX Concept's front fascia, and the lighting elements both front and rear lend a luxurious quality to the crossover's typical two-box proportions. When combined with the smaller MKC that was shown in production form late last year, it's clear to see that Lincoln has a specific design direction that at least seems visually capable of setting it apart from the Ford models with which the brand shares its platforms. Here's hoping there are some Lincoln-specific upgrades underhood...
Have a look at our image gallery of live photos from Beijing above, reread the press release below, and feel free to let us know what you think.
1955 Lincoln Indianapolis concept up for auction
Sat, 21 Sep 2013
Lincoln was never a brand known for making sports cars. In fact it hasn't offered anything with less than four doors since the demise of the Mark VIII, and that was hardly what you'd call "performance oriented". But that doesn't mean that Ford's luxury marque never toyed with the idea.
In 1955 Ford delivered a Lincoln chassis (along with a 200-horsepower V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission) to Carrozzeria Boano, an Italian coachbuilder that had just branched off from Ghia the year before. The resulting orange coupe you see here was named after Indianapolis and was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show. And while its detailing may have been divisive, the overall shape certainly caught the eye.
2018 Lincoln Navigator ad has more weird Matthew McConaughey
Thu, Dec 28 2017Now that new 2018 Lincoln Navigators are on their way to dealers, it's once again time for Matthew McConaughey to be weird behind the wheel in a new commercial. Things start out normally enough with the actor sitting in the SUV at a railroad crossing. But don't worry, it gets strange soon enough because for the rest of the commercial, McConaughey just drums on the Lincoln's steering wheel, a bit like in that disconcerting lunch scene in The Wolf of Wall Street. And the whole time, the actor doesn't say a word. He just drums along to the train and the crossing bells. Then he drives away. And that's it. It's just McConaughey drumming. The ad actually doesn't even show much of the Navigator, and obviously there isn't a word said about it. The most you might be able to learn about the Navigator from this commercial is that it's an SUV, it has an interior that has chrome and leather, and it has those "piano key" buttons for the shifter. We get that the first McConaughey commercials went viral and were frequently parodied for how bizarre they were, and the last Continental ad was also pretty off-the-wall. That was all good for getting attention from younger buyers, but we wonder if these ads are losing their punch and effectiveness. And if they have, then this ad doesn't do anything else to give buyers a sense of what the Navigator is. That's a shame, because the newest Navigator has a lot going for it. Instead, we get McConaughey drumming. Enjoy. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
