1937 Lincoln Zephyr Sedan Barn Find with V-12 engine. 99%
Complete car. The engine does not run but there is a title that is included
with the sale of the car. This is pretty
much a rust free car. Any rust that you see in the pictures is surface rust.
There is some rust on the rear body of the car below the trunk. A tree had fallen on the rear window. The
doors close nice and solid on this car. The car has the front and back seat upper and lower frames. Low Reserve Price! The rear bumpers brackets were taken off after the picture
was taken and are not included in the sale of the car. I do have the Hood
ornament that does come with the car but is not in the picture. This Lincoln
Zephyr has quite a few rare parts which include: the entire front end, the
frame, engine, transmission, running boards, lower SS trim, rear fenders,
fender skirts, bumpers and tail lights.
My original thought was to cut from the top of the windshield back and remove the body from the
frame and then either mount a 3 window coupe fiberglass body or steel body to
the frame and then turn the sedan into a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr 3 Window Coupe or Hot
Rod. Ultimately the car would be worth
the most if someone were to change the Sedan into a 3 Window Coupe. Otherwise
the parts have substantial value of this car since they are very rare. The fair
market value on the parts listed below of approximately is $12,500. Except you have to consider trying to find parts for a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr can be as challenging as finding "Hens Teeth." V-12 Motor and transmission - $2000 Radiator - $200 Hood Ornament and base - $400 2 Bird Ornaments on Fenders - $300 Front End of car- $4000.00 2 Bumpers - $150 Pair of Lower SS trim - $1500 Pair of Running Boards - $1200 2 Fender Skirts with lower trim - $450 2 Rear Fenders - $400 2 Rear tail light assemblies - $350 4 Door Handles - $200 4 hubcaps with 4 trim rings and 4 Rims - $400 Rear Trunk Handle - $300 Instrument gauges - $200 1936 Steering Wheel - $400 Initial deposit of $1000.00 to be received within 3 business days from end of auction and balance to be received within 10 business days from end of auction. I can be flexible in storing the car after the auction. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. |

NHTSA, IIHS, and 20 automakers to make auto braking standard by 2022
Thu, Mar 17 2016The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and virtually every automaker in the US domestic market have announced a pact to make automatic emergency braking standard by 2022. Here's the full rundown of companies involved: BMW, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo (not to mention the brands that fall under each automaker's respective umbrella). Like we reported yesterday, AEB will be as ubiquitous in the future as traction and stability control are today. But the thing to note here is that this is not a governmental mandate. It's truly an agreement between automakers and the government, a fact that NHTSA claims will lead to widespread adoption three years sooner than a formal rule. That fact in itself should prevent up to 28,000 crashes and 12,000 injuries. The agreement will come into effect in two waves. For the majority of vehicles on the road – those with gross vehicle weights below 8,500 pounds – AEB will need to be standard equipment by September 1, 2022. Vehicles between 8,501 and 10,000 pounds will have an extra three years to offer AEB. "It's an exciting time for vehicle safety. By proactively making emergency braking systems standard equipment on their vehicles, these 20 automakers will help prevent thousands of crashes and save lives," said Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx said in an official statement. "It's a win for safety and a win for consumers." Read on for the official press release from NHTSA. Automakers making the commitment are Audi, BMW, FCA US LLC, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Tesla Motors Inc., Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo Car USA.
2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost
Tue, 13 Nov 2012A Bench-Warmer In Waiting
I hail from Cleveland, and that means I'm familiar with sports franchises that are always falling short of championships. The Indians, the Browns, the Cavs - they've all come close, but being a resident of C-Town means learning to appreciate the effort more than a reward that never seems to come. So I can appreciate the situation in which Lincoln finds itself today, one where the past is full of repeated attempts to be competitive, and looming on the future's horizon is the next hope on which everything hinges.
That next hope for Lincoln is not the car you see here, but rather the smaller, all-new 2013 MKZ sedan. Like LeBron James entering Gund Arena for the first time, the MKZ will enter dealerships this fall as the brand's chosen savior, markedly more stylish, advanced and desirable than anything offered by Lincoln in recent memory. And that would make this car, the 2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost, one of the other 20 guys whose names I can't remember who played alongside LeBron during his rookie season.
Lincoln MKC spied in final form
Mon, 14 Oct 2013When the Lincoln MKC Concept debuted back in January, it received fairly positive feedback from both Autoblog editors and readers alike, and this bodes well for the production version of the luxury crossover judging by these latest spy shots. Reader Ivan Lo captured a few pictures of some MKC prototypes driving around with minimal camouflage, which gives us our best look yet at the design of this new Escape-based Lincoln.
Based on the spy shots from back in May, we already knew that the production MKC would sport some real door handles, a little side cladding and bigger door mirrors, but these latest shots also show us that the rear quarter windows have been enlarged and the integrated dual exhaust outlets have been replaced by round pipes. This means that the MKC will retain the concept's narrow headlights and what is arguably Lincoln's best execution of its split-wing grille. Even better, the rear view confirms the stylish horizontal taillights will remain intact, as well as the Audi-like wraparound liftgate. Since the entire taillight assembly rises along with the liftgate, redundant lights were also added into the rear fascia.
Unfortunately, the low angle of these spy shots leaves us without a view of the interior, but based on its looks alone, the MKC is shaping up to be a promising vehicle for a brand that so badly needs some fresh metal.
