All Original 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark Iv Meticulously Maintained on 2040-cars
Carlsbad, California, United States
This car has not been restored but has been meticulously maintained over the years. It is in tremendous shape, runs very strong no problems and everything works. It was purchased and owned by one owner from 1973 until I bought it about 3 months ago. I was amazed at the condition, the chrome is nearly perfect, and easy 9 or 10 rating on it's condition. The engine which is a big 460 V8 starts right up and runs great. The owners son had replaced the tires, radiator, carburetor, transmission, as well as repaired and kept up anything of concern over the years.
The white leather interior looks in pretty good shape though has normal wear for a 1973, the drivers seat however has cracks in the leather. Even though the interior is in good condition, if I were to keep it myself I would throw in nice new pristine white leaner to really make her pop. Everything is power, power seats that slide and tilt power windows power antenna and all of it works great! The Air conditioning, interior lights and even the old 8 track stereo work perfectly. This car was garage kept in California it's entire life. The original owner, a 96 year old woman unfortunately died and her Son sold the car to me. It had 25k original miles and it's condition reflects that. I would think this is one of those Holy Grail classic car finds that a Lincoln enthusiast dreams of coming across except I came across it but I am not a lincoln enthusiast so I just bought it to sell. I ahem had it in my garage and not been driving it other than to keep the engine exercised once a week maybe. I am happy to answer any and all questions so please ask anything you'd like. The only damage I can see it has sustained is a scrape next to the front passenger side bumper and rear passenger side bumper which looks like it was scraped while pulling out of a garage, it's really just paint not real dent or damage to the steel. The Black vinyl top is in pretty nice shape, looks good, the headliner in the interior does have a seam that looks to be ripping and taped. The owners son mentioned he replaced the steering wheel so the one in the car has a crack and is also from a 1974 Lincoln. Other than these minor areas of pretty normal wear the car will really excite you in how great she looks and well she functions. So for all this car people who like to buy old cars and bring them back to glory this one has about everything you would scour the internet searching for all ready to rock which should really put you ahead of the game if you chose to do any restoration at all. |

Hennessey’s 600-hp Lincoln Navigator is here
Tue, Oct 9 2018The tuners at Hennessey have begun deliveries of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator HPE600, a full-size SUV that boosts the Navigator's normal 450-horsepower output to 600 hp, announcing its arrival with a video showing the performance 'ute riding a dynamometer. Hennessey said it was a natural decision to turn to the Navigator because it has mostly the same 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine as the F-150 Raptor, which it converted last year to the 602-hp 6x6 VelociRaptor. So it added engine management computer software upgrades, a stainless steel exhaust system, high-flow air induction and large front-mounted intercooler with blow-off valve. Dyno results in the video show the Navigator topping out at around 500 hp and 500 pound-feet of torque at around 3,800 rpm at the wheels; Hennessey says the 600 hp comes at 6000 rpm. The upgrades are good to take the nearly three-ton SUV from 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds, about 0.7 seconds quicker than the standard Navigator, and run the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 107 mph. The tuning package will set you back $19,950, including installation. Additional options include 22-inch forged monoblock wheels, lowered suspension and Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers and 15.1-inch brake rotors. There are also HPE600 badges on the front door jambs and tailgate, and embroidered headrests. It comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty. Just 200 are planned for the 2018 model. You can order it now through Hennessey or any authorized Hennessey Lincoln dealer. Related Video: Image Credit: Hennessey Lincoln SUV Luxury Performance Hennessey tuner lincoln navigator tuning
2020 Ford Escape, Lincoln Corsair ace crash tests, earn Top Safety Pick from IIHS
Fri, Nov 15 2019The redesigned 2020 Ford Escape and its platform-mate, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair, have both just completed their bout of crash tests at the hands of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and while they did not emerge unscathed, they did come away with the agency's Top Safety Pick Award. One caveat: The rating only applies to the Escape equipped with the available LED headlights, which were deemed Acceptable. Similarly, the Corsair needs the available curve-adaptive LED headlights, also rated Acceptable, in order to achieve Top Safety Pick. The Escape's standard halogen headlights scored only a Marginal rating, while the Corsair's base LED headlights were deemed Poor due to glare. Those low headlight ratings knock the vehicles out of contention for Top Safety Pick. Had either vehicle offered headlights able to achieve a Good rating, that would have been enough to get them the agency's Top Safety Pick+ rating. Outside of their headlights, the 2020 Escape and Corsair acquitted themselves well. The Escape saw a big improvement in the difficult small-overlap front crash test, going from a Poor result in the previous generation to Good with the new one. The Corsair performed identically, and both achieved Good ratings in all six crash tests. The IIHS also tests automatic emergency-braking systems, and the standard and optional systems in the Escape and the Corsair both earned Superior ratings.
Oh look, it's the 2017 Lincoln Continental
Thu, Jan 7 2016Sorry about the super-low-res photo, but what you're looking at here is the 2017 Lincoln Continental ahead of its official debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week. The image appeared online courtesy of Ford Inside News, showing the production version of Lincoln's new 400-horsepower sedan. The front fascia certainly looks different than the gussied-up concept we first saw in New York last year, but as the Ford forum suggests, this could just be a lower-spec model. Seems weird to us that Lincoln would introduce some snazzy, full-LED headlights and then just slap projector beam units on the actual production car. But you never know. We'll know for sure when the car is revealed at Cobo Hall next week. Expect it to have all-wheel drive with the company's new 400-hp, 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 (that debuted in the MKZ in Los Angeles). Let us know what you think of the production-spec Conti, in Comments. Related Video:
