YOU ARE LOOKING AT A USED 1976 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL TOWN COUPE. THIS IS A TRUE "BARN FIND"!!! IT IS A 2 OWNER CAR WITH BOTH OF THEM BEING ELDERLY GENTLEMEN. IT HAS 111,000 ORIGINAL MILES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN STORED IN A GARAGE. IT HAS A 460ci V8 ENGINE WITH A C6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HAS WHITE LEATHER SEATS WITH BROWN CARPETS AND DASHBOARD, POWER SUNROOF, POWER SEATS, POWER WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS, AC, TILT WHEEL, CRUISE CONTROL AND IT EVEN HAS THE ORIGINAL 8-TRACK PLAYER! EVERYTHING IN THIS CAR WORKS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE AC (ALL PARTS ARE THERE BUT IT NEEDS A COMPRESSOR). ALL LIGHTS, HEADLIGHT DOORS, WIPERS, WINDOWS, SUNROOF, SEATS, RADIO, GAUGES, ETC STILL WORK! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ROT ON THIS CAR, IT WAS RECENTLY ON A LIFT AND THE UNDERCARRIAGE LOOKS INCREDIBLE. THERE IS A SMALL SPOT ON THE ROOF OF VERY MINOR SURFACE RUST AND A SMALL PATCH IN THE VINYL TOP (SEE PICTURES). THE TRUNK STILL HAS ALL OF THE ORIGINAL CARPET AND PANELING. THE CAR IS WET IN THE PICTURES DUE TO RINSING THE GARAGE DUST OFF OF IT. THIS CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS, BUT IT WILL START RIGHT UP, IDLE SMOOTHLY AND CAN BE DRIVEN AROUND. I WOULD RECOMMEND A FULL TUNE-UP AND A ONCE OVER BEFORE TAKING IT ON A TRIP THOUGH. IT HAS A NEW BATTERY AND BELTS ALREADY. THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD "AS-IS" WITH NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES. DUE TO THE AGE OF THIS VEHICLE THERE IS NO TITLE, BUT A BILL OF SALE WILL BE PROVIDED. THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING UP OR SHIPPING THE VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED COSTS. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE.

Lincoln drops MKX base price to $38,995
Mon, Jun 22 2015Lincoln is giving the 2016 MKX a major improvement in style and tech, and is introducing the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 as an option for the luxury crossover. While all of those changes are significant, the cost might be just as enticing to get customers checking out the new generation. The base price for 2016 falls to $38,995, after an $895 destination charge on all models, compared to $39,795 for the 2015. At this time, there are three trim levels listed on Lincoln's site, but a Black Label version is supposed to come along later to add a bit more opulence. Above the base Premiere trim, the Select model starts at $42,285, and adds features like LED running lights, folding and heated mirrors, leather seats, and a power hatch. Spending $46,050 brings buyers to the Reserve trim with upgrades including a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch wheels, navigation, adaptive headlights, and heated seats. There are a huge number of individual options available, including full LED headlights and a safety suite of tech. Opting for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost pushes the price of any trim up an extra $2,000, and checking the box for all-wheel drive brings with it an added $2,495. As ever, you can spec one out yourself on the official configurator here.
Art students explore what a Lincoln might look like in 2040
Tue, Jun 29 2021Lincoln gave students at the ArtCenter College of Design an unusual challenge. It asked them to sketch their idea of what its cars will look like in the year 2040, and it instructed them to team up with students specializing in other fields (including film and illustration) to create a short movie that depicts their concept, the environment it operates in, and the folks who drive it. Over a year in the making, the final submissions have been presented to the public. "More than just the vehicles themselves, we were looking for that great narrative development, that rich storytelling. It's so important to understand the future ecosystem in which a concept vehicle will live," explained Jordan Meadows, the global strategic design specialist for Lincoln, in a statement. Four teams of students participated in the project, which Lincoln called Quiet Flight 2040. Students received a basic set of guidelines that helped them create what the Ford-owned firm referred to as "the ultimate beautiful gliding human sanctuary," a term that's intentionally open to interpretation. Four body styles were chosen: a two-passenger car, a four-passenger vehicle, a different four-passenger model with a higher, SUV-like ride height and a six-seater. Participants created the concepts from scratch and showcased them in short films. The design studies are crammed with futuristic features, including autonomous driving systems, a technology that displays images on the dashboard, touchscreens embedded into the door windows, and a lounge-like interior that wouldn't look out of place at the Consume Electronics Show (CES). One is a crossover with a fastback-like roof line, another is a stately sedan, a third is an elegant coupe and the last is a van-like vehicle that looks like nothing Lincoln has ever built before. Nothing suggests these concepts will be built, let alone approved for production. What's certain is that, from a student's perspective, Lincoln's future looks a lot different than Polestar's. Volvo's upmarket offshoot held a similar contest in late 2020, and the finalists returned with a sci-fi blimp, an electric yacht and an autonomous pod. Lincoln again asking dealers to move out from under Ford's roof
Tue, Aug 27 2019Lincoln is once again looking at ways to stand out from parent company Ford and establish itself as a credible player in the luxury segment. The company has returned to its plan for standalone showrooms to give its sales and image a boost. In 2018, Lincoln asked 150 Ford-Lincoln dealerships in its 30 biggest American markets to make plans for a standalone showroom by July 2019, and inaugurate it by July 2021. Of those stores, 72 signed on — but the others resisted, partly because the move requires investing millions of dollars. Lincoln put the campaign on hiatus in December 2018, and now Automotive News has learned it's ready to relaunch the plan after finding a middle ground that satisfies both executives and store owners. The publication said dealers gained more freedom to choose how big of a store they build; square foot requirements are no longer tied to the market size. Lincoln also agreed to treat dealers who don't comply more fairly, notably by reducing financial penalties, and it made the aforementioned deadlines more flexible. Standalone Lincoln stores must now be completed by July 2022. The move makes sense, at least on paper. As Autoblog reported in 2018, research shows dealers with standalone showrooms sell more cars. The handful of Lincoln retailers that sell cars in purpose-built showrooms have seen their sales increase considerably faster than those who display the firm's models next to Ford-badged vehicles. Customers "want to buy a luxury product in a luxury environment," explained Robert Parker, Lincoln's head of marketing, at the time. Lincoln was historically tied to Mercury, though the Continental also incongruously shared showroom space with the De Tomaso Pantera during the early 1970s. Lincoln moved under Ford's roof when Mercury was done away with in 2011, and it began experimenting with standalone stores in the early 2010s. Auto News Lincoln
