COME AND RESCUE ME! This Nearly 40 YEAR OLD American classic needs some TLC. It boasts of having only 22k original miles. When I bought this car 4 years ago at an IRS auction I was proud as could be to drive it. This Town Coupe possesses a floating feeling and a 460CID engine which is just not found today. When I first got it , everyone would comment how everything worked including the headlight doors! I started some minor restoration which was all it needed at the time. This car has been living outside and the rain, snow and sun have been taking its toll. I have not driven the car in over two years, nor have I started it. I assume the gas and other fluids went bad and starting it the way it is now would not be a good thing to do. Rust has begun and if I leave this car where it is, it will be regretful. The tires and vinyl roof need replacing also. In 1975 when this car was built, I could only dream about owning one.

So what happened? Almost three years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and my priorities changed and this car fell to the wayside along with many other hobbies and interests.

If you are the sentimental type for a nostalgic classic like this or you are looking for your next project, this Lincoln Town Coupe is waiting for you to save its life. I can give you the IRS certificate, if you desire, or turn it into a NJ title, whichever you prefer. I was also curious about who previously owned this car, but I never pursued it. I was hoping it was some famous, infamous, or important.

As disappointing as it may be, I must part company with this Town Coupe, a great American classic.

Lincoln Zephyr makes a comeback, but only in China

The Lincoln Zephyr name is back. The name was previously used on some of the luxury brand's sedans before World War II, and for a single model year on a sedan derived from the first-generation Ford Fusion. Now it appears on the Zephyr Reflection concept, a car that will preview a production sedan for the Chinese market. Yes, the car you see above is only for China, and also happened to be designed by Lincoln's Chinese design branch. Apparently the country still has a strong demand for sedans, so Lincoln can keep offering them. It's a very stylish machine, looking a bit like a smaller first-generation Audi A7 from some angles. The wide, low grille and accompanying light bar give it an athletic stance. It has cool details such as the fender trim that blends into the front door handles. Although it's being shown at the same show as the Ford Evos crossover, the Zephyr is unrelated. And looking closely at the profile, we can see that the roof and glass bear an extremely strong resemblance to the outgoing Ford Fusion. We wonder if it's a majorly redesigned version of the old sedan. There's nothing in the interior that would remind you of the Fusion, or its cousin the MKZ (successor to that other Zephyr). The whole width of the dash bears a screen, which can be split for driver and passenger to do things.The rest of the interior is similarly simple, decorated mainly with some contrasting leather, and a Lincoln badge pattern in the doors. Lincoln didn't give any information about the powertrain. We imagine it will use some existing Ford turbocharged engines. The production model will launch later this year, so more details will probably come closer to the on-sale date. But remember, this Zephyr won't be crossing the Pacific. McConaughey stars in new round of Lincoln ads

Matthew McConaughey's ruminative commercial work with the Lincoln MKC, MKZ, and MKZ Hybrid showed us a side of Lincoln we didn't know existed, and a bunch of spoofs made us laugh about it. Most importantly, though, the partnership worked, leading to a double-digit increase in sales and millions of hits in brand exposure. That's why the actor and the automaker are back together, McConaughey scheduled to return in a new commercial campaign launching September 2 for the 2016 Lincoln MKX. He'll give up the air of cosmopolitan sage, because these ads "dial up the swagger factor" according to Lincoln's group marketing manager John Emmert. Introduced earlier this year at the Detroit Motor Show, the brand put a lot of work into the all-new model, said to be "much improved in how it rides, steers, brakes and looks," offering a more powerful engine, and at least 36 new features including adaptive lighting. Ford's first production implementation of adaptive steering, and Harman's first automobile application of Revel audio will bow with the mid-sized crossover. On top of all that, it's also got that lower price. Emmert said the McConaughey ads will point out "the technology and the beauty of the vehicle." Lincoln will buy time during NFL games as part of the campaign. We have no doubt the anticipation from YouTube and a few celebrity rascals is already high. Related Video:
