This 1966 Continental convertible is a nicely preserved survivor that has been garage stored and covered since purchased in 2006 by an elderly man who also babied it for several years prior. It has the beautiful factory color combinations, a light blue exterior with a dark blue interior and a white canvas top. Take your pic, the car looks great with the top down or up. The interior could use a little love but doesn't need a complete restoration by any means. The seating surfaces show moderate wear and some light cracking, but no major splits or tears, and as with the bodywork, again it’s too nice to restore—give the leather some conditioning and it’ll look just right. The biggest issue with the interior is the cracked plastic door panel where the switches for the windows are. You would want to order two of them, one for the driver and passenger side. The back door panels are fine. The rugs could use a shampoo as well, but besides that, the interior is solid. Accessories include power windows and seat, tilt steering column, AM/FM stereo radio with power antenna, and a stylish clock in front of the passenger. Perhaps most critical on any of these cars are the incredibly complex top mechanisms, which were derived from the folding hardtop system found on the 1950s Ford Retractables. Hit the switch under the dash or use the convenient key-operated switch next to the gas tank lid, and the nicely-fitted white top disappears into the trunk. This is usually a traffic stopper, people walking by will enjoy this show. The trunk area carpet could also use a shampoo. This is also where the spare tired is stored. Lincoln’s massive 462 cubic inch V8 provides a smooth ride that feels like you're in a living room on wheels. This is a heavy vehicle roughly 6000 pounds and once she gets going she just floats down the road effortlessly. This car needs to be driven and wants to be driven. Take it on a nice long drive and let it perform for you. She's older but knows how to entertain. Original factory assembly markings are still visible on many of the components. There are new tires with one inch white walls to keep the car consistent with how it came out of the factory. We know this isn’t a perfect car, but it will make a perfect fit for someone. The interior is 50 years old and might be showing a few signs of age, but things like the engine, transmission, and undercarriage are extremely solid and perhaps most importantly, the top works. Like many formerly affordable cars, these suicide door Lincoln convertibles have been steadily appreciating and finding one that isn’t a basket case or a $50,000 investment is getting harder all the time. If a driver-grade Continental is what you’re seeking, this is a good car to put on the road. Any additional information or pictures will be provided upon request. The car is coming from Calgary, Canada and can be shipped to the US/Canadian in Montana for free. If there is somewhere else you would like this vehicle shipped to in the US that can be organized by me and half the shipping cost will be paid by me.

2020 Lincoln Corsair will be revealed at the New York Auto Show

Wed, Mar 27 2019

It's official, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair will be revealed at the New York Auto Show this April. To go along with the announcement is a teaser video that, well, doesn't reveal much of anything except the crossover's name prominently displayed on the front fender. But we know a fair bit about the crossover from spy shots and prior announcements. The Corsair is the successor to the MKC, Lincoln's smallest crossover, which is also based on the Ford Escape. We expect that it will continue to be based on the Escape, albeit the completely redesigned one that hasn't yet been revealed. That also means powertrains will probably be shared, but the Lincoln might get one or two model-specific powertrains like with the Lincoln Aviator. Reportedly, the new Corsair will feature turbocharged 2.0-liter and 2.3-liter four-cylinder engines along with a plug-in hybrid. Spy shots have revealed that the Corsair will have styling closely related to that of the larger Aviator. That means a floating roof, more broad-shouldered nose, and large amounts of glass. The inside is also inspired by the Aviator and Navigator and features piano-key shift buttons, a low, wide dash and a healthy amount of chrome. 2020 Lincoln Corsair spied View 16 Photos

Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

After the horrible weather last winter, it's hard to look forward for the season to return this year. For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.

2019 Lincoln Navigator gets slight price hikes, crosses six-figure mark

Mon, Aug 20 2018

As of the end of June this year, all-new Lincoln Navigator sales are up by triple digits over last year. No wonder, as Lincoln's flagship has impressed us on both our initial drive and again recently on a 900-mile road trip. Even if numbers slump some between now and the end of the year, the full-sized luxury SUV should achieve sales not seen since 2007, when it sold 24,050 units. That would help explain why the Navigator's already had one price increase this year, in June, when MSRPs across the range went up $500 and the destination charge rose another $100. According to order guides, prices for the 2019 model year will go up even more. The entry-level Premiere trim gets bumped by another $650, while the Reserve trim climbs by $3,500. After the $1,295 destination fee, the 2019 Navigator Premiere starts $74,500, and the Select trim rises by $1,000 to $78,850. Neither of those trims add additional equipment to offset the additional cost. The Reserve price hike to $86,500 does capture the cost of the Technology Package, which will come standard. On the 2018 Navigator, that package, which bundles aids like adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking, is a $2,640 option, so the net price jump for the trim is $860. The Black Label price drifts upward by $2,190 to $97,690, but the 2019 models will throw in 30-way power seats as standard. Those thrones being a $1,250 option on 2018 models, the net increase is then $940. The long-wheelbase L models will all go up by the same amount as their non-L counterparts, which puts the Navigator over the $100K mark for the first time; the 2019 Black Label L will need $100,890 to put in a suitable driveway. That's just $700 less than the list price of the 2019 Cadillac Escalade ESV Premium, but Cadillac incentives mean the Lincoln would actually cost thousands more. Lease prices have gone skyward, too. Cars Direct found that in the middle of this year, the average monthly cost for a 36-month lease in California was $1,023, a $131 increase compared to lease prices in February. Two months later, the average monthly cost in California has gone up another eight dollars, to $1,031. That's only $14 less per month than the lease for an Escalade Luxury, even though the Cadillac has a list price $9,500 higher. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
