1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible Black/Black/Black
Here's your chance to get a true icon of American motor history. I am moving and this car won't be making the trip. It is a MUST sell and is priced accordingly. I bought it 2 1/2 years ago at Barrett-Jackson and then sent it to RK Motors Charlotte for additional work. Here's the information on the car as given to me at purchase: Triple black, leather, factory A/C, Black Plate California car originally from Beverly Hills, 430cid V8, automatic transmission, power windows, power locks, 6 way power seat, power steering, power brakes, original hub caps, wide white tires (new), all black leather interior was just professionally done, new carpet, brand new stay-fast Mercedes-style cloth top. Top works nicely. Already a nice buy, I decided to send it to RK Motors-Charlotte for further refinement. The end result is a great car that is worth every dollar you can buy it for. Again, it's going to sell for a great price and it won't be making the move with me. Here's a list of what extra work I had done by RK: Replaced: Ignition switch, fuel filter, rear-view mirror, windshield weather-stripping, l & r vent windows, both rear brake cylinders, both front brake flex lines, rf shock bolt and shock, engine mounts, transmission mount, control arms and bushings, upper and lower control arms, battery, all hoses, belts. Repaired: Carb, horn wire, front seat solenoid, rear vacuum door loo actuators, temp gauge sender, climate control systems, courtesy lamp sockets, convertible top relay and harness, rf window master switch, lf window switch, glove box bulb, glove box rekeyed, dash lamp bulbs, fuel tank flushed, hood insulation, reseal power steering, oil pan gasket, r/r radiator, exhaust bracket, front end alignment. To allow for a smoother drive, I had electronic ignition installed after I got it back from RK. Don't miss out on this buy! These go for $65,000-80,000 at auction now and I AM PRICING TO SELL NOW!!!! Thank you. |

Ford gets out of car subscriptions, sells Canvas to rival Fair
Tue, Sep 17 2019Ford says it’s selling its Canvas subscription service to competitor Fair, getting out of the subscription game after less than three years. Terms of the deal were not announced. Ford acquired Canvas in 2016 as a wholly-owned subsidiary based in San Francisco as a service to pilot subscriptions to Ford and Lincoln vehicles, eventually rolling out to Los Angeles and Dallas. The company said it had amassed around 3,800 subscribers in that time, who will have the opportunity to join Fair when their current subscriptions end and will receive more information from both subscription companies. But that number pales in comparison with Santa Monica, California-based Fair, which claims more than 45,000 subscriptions in 30 markets since launching in 2017. Ford was always fairly quiet about Canvas, and Automotive News last year reported that Lincoln executives expressed surprise over soft demand, saying that subscribers were looking for short-term solutions and often dropped out after just a few months. Ford is also in cost-cutting mode under CEO Jim HackettÂ’s $11 billion restructuring plan. The Blue Oval joins Cadillac, which put its $1,800-a-month Book By Cadillac subscription service on ice late last year, citing higher costs and fewer customers than expected. Cadillac has pledged to eventually relaunch the service as a pilot in select cities, but mumÂ’s been the word since. More recently, VolvoÂ’s Care by Volvo subscription service has come under scrutiny from dealers and an investigation from the California Department of Motor Vehicles and has made changes to its program. Thought it also has added the XC60, XC90 and V60 to the list of available vehicles. Fair touts itself as a “commitment-free” solution, with all-inclusive plans covering 24-7 roadside assistance, routine maintenance, insurance and other perks. It uses a mobile app to get customers prequalified, and it analyzes their eligibility and targets an affordable range of monthly payments. Customers then shop for cars and sign up for one via an initial payment that ranges by vehicle type, with the ability to keep the cars as long as they want and drop the service at any time. It peddles used cars from more than 30 different brands, none more than six years old or with more than 70,000 miles on the odometer. Fair on Tuesday announced it has raised $500 million in loans from a group of creditors, including Mizuho Bank and Japan's SoftBank, as it looks to expand its leasing services to Uber drivers.
2019 Lincoln Nautilus commercials bring back Matthew McConaughey, plus pool
Fri, Dec 21 2018It's that time of year again, folks, time for another kind of strange, awkward Matthew McConaughey Lincoln commercial. And, yes, checking back when each ad comes out, it's usually in Decemeber or near the end of the year that these ads are released. This latest ad has the actor hanging out with a group of friends having a generic conversation about something over dinner. They all then head inside, and McConaughey breaks away from the group to walk to a pool table, and he promptly makes a trick shot on the pool table while a woman says "I've never seen that before." This leads to clips of McConaughey getting into a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus and driving it on beautiful backroads. And before he starts driving, there's a shot of the instrument cluster with a bunch of driver aid options displayed. The woman's words come in again, and he follows it up with his own words, "I have." This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Basically, the idea is that the trick shot of the cue ball threading between other billiard balls is like how the Lincoln driver aids help keep the Nautilus under control. Except it's a vague, awkward way of doing it, which is also par (above par?) for the course of McConaughey Lincoln ads. A much better ad accompanies the actor's version. This one features a real trick pool player making some clever shots to illustrate the individual features available on the luxury crossover. They're legitimately nifty shots, and the features are clearly explained. Maybe all of Lincoln's ads should have this pool player. Related Video:
Watch 14 hot rides take over concept car lawn at Pebble Beach
Sun, Aug 16 2015The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is an annual celebration of the beautiful, old cars that grace Monterey Car Week. But Monterey – and Pebble – features lots of newer metal, too, and that includes the concept lawn at Pebble Beach. Now, "concept lawn" isn't a totally accurate name anymore, and you'll see why in the list below. This year especially, plenty of production cars can be found in the area once reserved for the conceptual. Still, we're happy to see them. Here's what's featured this year: Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Audi R8 BAC Mono Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R Buick Avenir Galpin-Fisker Rocket Speedster Hyundai HCD-16 Vision G Coupe Icona Volcano Infiniti Q60 Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 Maserati Ghibli McLaren 570S Rolls-Royce Wraith By our count, that's seven concepts out of fourteen cars. But it still makes for one hot group of metal. Check 'em out in the gallery above.
