1958 Lincoln Continental 2 Door Hardtop on 2040-cars
Ansonia, Connecticut, United States
There was less than 2400 of these built,Lincoln lost money when they made theses cars. The car has 69000 miles. It was originally owned by a Dr in NY when he passed his then girlfriend would not drive it due to the size. It went to another family before it came into my hands. The car was disassembled and not running. The parts were all there and put back on with car. What you have now is a running car. A classic with fresh paint and a one of a kind gold metal flake roof, The pictures do not do the roof justice. A new holley 600cfm carb was put on, master cylinder was rebuilt. The front lower seat was recently replaced. The headliner needs to be replaced as well as the guage dash needs to be recovered. This car is a head turner and everyone loves it. I have some 30 pictures from when it came to me. It needs work to be a 10 but it is definately a 6 or better. It has the working town and country am radio, the windows work, the rear left can be balky. Ask any questions. Vehicle is buyer pickup only. If shipping is required will help load. The floors are solid there is no rot. The trunk is again solid no rot. This car is available for inspection in West Haven, CT. You do not see these cars often, now picture yourself in it. This is when cars were solid. It is the largest unibody car ever built, holds the record for most shoulder room. The front upper bumper was rechromed and is flawless. Again it is a beauty. This car has a breezeway window an option that everyone has remarked on, Shifts great, ride is smooth and it is like riding on a cloud. I have resisted the urge to lower the car as it would ne easy without cutting or unbolting anything. The car is listed locallyand I reserve the right to end the auction immediately. Partial trade may be worked out. I have had several requests for more pictures. Please send me your email address and I will send them to you promptly. |

Lincoln Navigator facelift only has to last until 2016 replacement
Thu, 21 Aug 2014The Navigator is not only Lincoln's longest-serving nameplate - dating back to 1998 when the final Town Car was introduced - but it's also the oldest model still in the brand's portfolio. The current Navigator arrived on the market in 2007, and underwent a refresh just a few months ago for the 2015 model year. The updates were subtle, but if you're waiting for an all-new model, it's just a couple of years down the road.
According to Automotive News, Lincoln is already working on an all-new replacement for the current, long-serving Navigator, which will be revealed two years from now in the middle of 2016 as a 2017 model. At that point, we're expecting it could switch (alongside the Expedition) to the new aluminum architecture introduced on the Ford F-150, seeing as how the current model is based on the old F-150.
In the meantime, the refreshed Navigator ditches the big 5.4-liter Triton V8 in favor of a more economical 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and wages war in two wheelbase lengths against the V8-powered competition in the form of the Cadillac Escalade (and Escalade ESV), the Land Cruiser-based Lexus LX and the Infiniti QX80, which is based on the overseas Nissan Patrol.
Ford is recalling more Takata airbag-equipped Ford and Lincoln models
Thu, Mar 2 2017The Basics: Takata, the beleaguered airbag supplier at the root of the largest recall in automotive history, has informed Ford of a problem with the airbags in just over 30,000 Ford and Lincoln models. The problem is not related to the non-desiccated ammonium nitrate airbag inflators that plague the other airbags ( including many Fords), meaning there isn't a risk of shrapnel flying out from the units in this particular recall. The Problem: In the event of an accident, the front airbags may only partially inflate, and the airbag may become detached from the module because of misaligned parts. The problem affects 2016 and 2017 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models built at the Oakville Assembly Plant. The issue also affects 2017 Lincoln Continentals that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Injuries/Deaths: In a release, Ford stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths related to the airbag issue. The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag module at no cost. If You Own One: Sit tight and wait for Ford to notify owners. When that happens, take your car to the dealer for a replacement. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. 2015 Lincoln Navigator ready to roll for $62,475*
Wed, 21 May 2014Fancy picking up a refreshed Lincoln Navigator? Well, prepare to shell out at least $62,475. That's a whopping increase of $6,310 for the now-EcoBoost-equipped SUV.
That's just for the two-wheel-drive Select model, though. Want to drive all four wheels? Better have an extra $3,575 laying around. Snagging the top-of-the-line Reserve model, meanwhile, demands a premium of $7,500.
For those extra bills, you'll net Lincoln Drive Control, complete with continuously controlled dampers, power running boards, Ziricote wood interior trim, upgraded leather, 22-inch wheels, a "unique" interior headliner and, of course, a "Reserve" badge.
