I AM SELLING A 1957 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK II . IT IS IN NEED OF RESTORATION. THE CAR DOES NOT RUN. THERE WERE ONLY 444 MADE IN 1957 AND ABOUT 2400 MADE IN 1956. IT WAS PRODUCED FOR ONLY TWO YEARS IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 1300 MARK II's LEFT IN EXISTENCE.THESE CARS WERE HAND MADE AND COST OVER $10,000. A ROLLS ROYCE COST $9,800 AND A CADILLAC ELDORADO COST $4,800. THE MARK II 's WERE OWNED BY FRANK SINATRA, ELVIS, AND THE SHAWOF IRAN , AND OTHER WEALTHY PEOPLE, AS THESE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT COULD AFFORD THEM.THIS CAR HAS SPENT MOST OF ITS LIFE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND ARIZONA, AND IT IS MOSTLY RUST FREE.THE CAR NEEDS THE INTERIOR DONE, THE PAINT JOB SHOULD BE RUBBED OUT, THE A/C COMPRESSOR HAS TO BE PUT BACK IN THE CAR. THE SIDE WINDOWS (BOTH ARE CRACKED, BUT IT IS FLAT GLASS) HAVE TO BE PUT BACK IN THE CAR. THE CAR IS MOSTLY COMPLETE, WITH ONE PIECE OF CHROME TRIM ON THE HOOD MISSING. IT IS NOT THE ORIGINAL KEY IN THE IGNITION, SO IT HAS TO BE JUMPED. THERE ARE SOME OTHER ITEMS THAT HAVE TO BE HOOKED UP. SUCH AS THE DOOR AND TRUNK AND WINDOW HARDWARE. THERE IS A NEWLY REBUILT RADIATOR, A NEWLY REBUILT STARTER, A NEWLY REBUILT GENERATOR, A NEW BATTERY, NEW BRAKE END HOSES (THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDS ATTENTION). THE ANTENNA IS THERE BUT HAS TO BE INSTALLED. THERE IS NO WARANTEE, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED ON THE CAR. THE SHIPPING IS THE RESPONSIBILTY OF THE BUYER, BUT I WILL BE HERE TO HELP. 2015 Lincoln MKC aims to rejuvenate the brand... again
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Ford is slowly but surely attempting to revitalize the Lincoln brand, with the new MKZ sedan pointing the way forward for the Blue Oval's struggling luxury division. Here at the LA Auto Show, Lincoln is showing the next new product that aims to give the brand new life, the 2015 MKC crossover.
The MKC is based on the trusty Ford Escape, but this is far more than just a rebadge job. Lincoln has used completely new sheetmetal here, with the brand's familiar split-wing grille front and center, and a classy, wraparound tailgate with super slim taillamps that span the width of the hatchback. It's one of the better applications of Lincoln's new design language we've seen thus far, and the end result is a taut-looking crossover that is at the same time both modern and luxurious-looking.
Further differentiating itself from the Escape, the MKC packs an all-new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, good for 275 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. (On the base end, Ford's 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft is available.) The MKC also uses a new Continuously Controlled Damping adaptive suspension, and is available with both front- and all-wheel drive.

Tue, Jan 13 2015Following on the heels of Ford's unveiling of its new Edge a few months back, Lincoln officially introduced the new MKX counterpart on Tuesday at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Unlike its Ford counterpart, the MKX does away with any notion of a four-cylinder, opting for the buyer's choice of a pair of V6 engines. At its base is FoMoCo's familiar 3.7-liter V6, generating a projected 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, although the real exciting powertrain news focuses on Lincoln's optional engine. Like the Edge, the top-end engine is a 2.7-liter, EcoBoost V6 that promises "more than" 330 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque. We'd love to tell you about the performance impact this new engine has on the MKX, but as Lincoln probably hasn't published a 0-60 time since 1967, that simply isn't possible. Suffice it to say, we expect the most potent engine should offer pretty brisk acceleration. Aside from the power increase provided by the MKX's new engine lineup, Lincoln has thoroughly refitted the crossover's exterior, using its handsome MKC kid brother as its inspiration. It's a good look, to be honest, allowing the new CUV to maintain its styling edge over its Blue Ovaled platform mate. Honda, Volvo, Lincoln are North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year
Mon, Jan 15 2018The Detroit Auto Show has officially kicked off, as it always does, with the announcement of the North American Car, Utility Vehicle and Truck of the Year winners. For 2018, those are the Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and Lincoln Navigator, respectively. The Honda Accord beat out two other finalists, the Toyota Camry and the new Kia Stinger. The Accord stood out for its styling, drivability and standard equipment. The Volvo XC60 came out ahead of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Honda Odyssey minivan. It was chosen for its luxury, ride and value when equipped well. The Lincoln Navigator, a heavily updated model that remained true to the concept car on which it was based, beat the Ford Expedition, as well as the only pickup in the list, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (which was a finalist for Autoblog's own Technology of the Year Award). NACTOY juror Ron Sessions complimented the "more dramatic update" compared to the Expedition. "With its design now aligned with the Continental, the Navigator becomes an even more important image — and the profit-maker for Lincoln," he said. The NACTOY Awards have been around since 1994. A panel of 60 judges, all automotive journalists, whittle the list down to three finalists in each category before announcing the winners in January. The Utility Vehicle category was added for 2017.
