Hello,
For sale today is a very clean and completely turn key 2004 Lincoln Aviator. I bought this truck a few months ago for my wife. We were trying to get rid of or lower our payments, so I sold an F250 diesel and 36" 5th wheel camper. We bought this and was going to get a small camper to pull behind it. Well long story short, my wife has decided that she really misses here big truck and this is just not cutting it for her. This Aviator has all the bells and whistles you could expect on a Lincoln including rear heat and a/c, rear dvd, 3rd row seat, power seat with heat and a/c also. Vehicle also comes with a remote start and 2 extra flip keys, like a VW or Mercedes ( I had them made and programmed). Also has push bars on the front and rear, rear is also a step.
I purchased it for $5200, put $800 worth of brand new E-rated tires (for towing and stability), Class III tow hitch, completely went thru it end to end. It has all new fluids, engine oil, transmission, transfer case, rear ends, all of it. New spark plugs and fuel filters. Also had all 4 tires mounted and road balanced, 1 new tpms sensor replaced and both lower ball joints had a little play, so they were replaced also. My wife was going to use this as her daily driver, kids to school and groceries and we were going to use it for family vacations. I MADE THIS THING SAFE AND SOUND FOR MY FAMILY, BUT THEY WANT ANOTHER TRUCK. Plain and simple it is turn key ready and needs nothing. Fly in and drive it back to California, I would not hesitate. The vehicle runs very strong and is very tight.
I also opened the exhaust with an after market muffler (it sounds very nice and is not load by any means) and also installed a cold air intake to improve performance, power for towing and improve mpg's.
The bad and I am being picky to be overly honest...
There are no leaks from the vehicle at all, the underside is completely dry, EXCEPT, the oil pressure sensor. I bought it and noticed "a leak" near the oil filter, but wasn't sure if it was a problem with the filter or the housing. So I cleaned everything off and changed the oil. Well I then determined it was coming from the oil pressure sensor, which is on the oil filter housing, which means that I can't change it until the next oil change. I have the sensor and it will go with the vehicle, so next oil change when you pull the filter, the sensor can be changed out very easily. NO OTHER MECHANICAL ISSUES WHATSOEVER!!! Feel free to come see and drive the truck anytime with an appt., you will not be disappointed.
Interior is very clean and everything works as it should. I replaced the sun visor mounts with after market hardware cause all the plastic mounting pieces were broken. Apparently this is a common problem, because someone makes stainless steel replacement pieces.
Exterior has normal where and tear for a 9 year old vehicle. Check the pictures for the only 2 noticeable spots. A scratch/dent on the passenger side rear near the tail light and a crack on the driver's side mirror housing.
There are only a handful of these on ebay and I feel this is one of the cleanest and definitely confident is more mechanically sound than most. KBB and NADA put clean retail around $9000 and trade at $6500. I would like to get my money back out of it and be somewhere in the middle. Again please feel free to call with any questions or to come and see the truck.
Thank you for looking....
Jim

Junkyard Gem: 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V
Mon, Feb 27 2017For the 1977 model year, Ford debuted the new Lincoln Continental Mark V, one of the biggest of the personal luxury coupes that were all the rage during the era. While 400 pounds lighter than its Mark IV predecessor, the Mark V was still a thirsty, 4,652-pound symbol of American exceptionalism. Here's an example of a first-year Mark V, spotted in a San Francisco Bay Area self-service wrecking yard. If we are to judge from the sun-baked interior, top-down rust, and moss growing on the bodywork, this car spent at least 20 years decaying outdoors before coming here. Still, flashes of its original opulence may be seen here and there. For example, the Cartier clock (which probably failed by about 1983). There were Cartier Edition Mark Vs (along with Givenchy and Pucci versions), but all the Mark Vs got the Cartier clocks. With the 1973 Oil Crisis just a few years behind and the 1979 Oil Crisis a couple of years ahead, some attempt to improve fuel economy was needed in the engine compartment. This car has the 400-cubic-inch version of the 351 Cleveland V8, rated at 179 woefully inadequate horsepower and 329 good-enough pound-feet of torque. Outside of California, the 208-horse 460-cubic-inch V8 was an option. These cars were very comfortable on the highway, with their soft springs and cushy seats. No, the wood isn't real. Worth restoring? No way, not when you can find nice one-owner examples for four figures. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. "To its owner, Continental Mark V is more than a new car. It's a Mark of tradition." Related Video: Featured Gallery Junked 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V View 25 Photos Auto News Lincoln Luxury
Lincoln considering giving cars real names again
Wed, Apr 22 2015Enthusiastic reaction to the Continental concept might be the death knell for Lincoln's alphabet soup of monikers. "Without divulging the future, we're very excited about the Continental name and the attention it's gotten," Ford President of the Americas Joe Hinrichs said to Automotive News. Hinrichs admitted that the current MK names could confuse those not familiar with the models. Hinrichs suggested that one way Lincoln might differentiate itself was to "leverage its heritage." While this is certainly nothing explicit, the talk could be an indication of an upcoming overhaul for the brand's naming scheme. The Continental is set to hit the market next year as a replacement for the MKS as the company makes a major push into China. Lincoln bosses reportedly gave the designers the model name as inspiration for what to create. The brand's health has slowly been improving since former Ford CEO Alan Mulally was ready to completely kill the brand. Last year, a new boss was appointed to the helm, and there were reports of a modular platform under development. Let us know in Comments what Lincoln names you want to see revived. The Town Car is likely the best-known model from the brand after the Continental, and Zephyr has fairly recent history as the brief moniker for the MKZ. Related Video:
Buyers ditching expensive European sedans to buy expensive American trucks
Mon, Feb 19 2018The New York Times ended the automotive week with a story that adds numbers and context to a range of other stories, from the crossover craze to the increasing median price of a new car to ever more grandiose pickup trucks. The NYT piece reveals that the shift to larger vehicles isn't merely about the average U.S. buyer swapping the midsize sedan for a Ford Edge. Luxury buyers are migrating from plush sedans to plush SUVs and trucks that creep close to six-figure prices, and the Detroit Three are running Treasury presses because of it. From 2013 to 2017, the truck category — everything from pickups to minivans — climbed from 30 percent of the market to 41 percent. In January of this year, trucks claimed 66 percent of new vehicle sales. At the milk-and-honey end of profits, GMC alone accounted for 11.3 percent of all vehicle sales over $60,000, not just trucks. That puts the luxury truck maker behind Mercedes-Benz and Ford, The Blue Oval's feasting on Lariat, King Ranch and Raptor versions of the F-150, which make up more than half of that pickup's sales, putting it ahead of Chevrolet, Porsche and Lexus on the high-dollar sales list. The average transaction price of a GMC in Denali trim last year was $56,000; it's easy to see why, when one dealer told the NYT he just swapped a 2012 BMW 550i for a $71,000 GMC Sierra Denali. That truck starts at $52,900. The NYT started its story with a buyer who took home a Ford Raptor instead of an Audi A6, and optioned that $50,020 Ford Raptor close to $80,000. Over at Lincoln, the new $72,055 Navigator — the one so popular that Ford will increase production — crossed hands for an average sale price of $77,000 in January. And a Jeep dealer told the NYT that the two $93,000 Trackhawks he had on his lot "won't be here more than a few weeks." While trucks head up in sales volume and price, cars are headed so viciously in the opposite direction that "the Detroit Three and even some foreign manufacturers acknowledge they are now losing money on many of the cars they sell." So ... get ready for a lot more crossovers and trucks. Related Video: Find out what vehicle is right for you. Give our Car Finder tool a try.
