1997 Lexus Sc400 72,300 Original Low Mileage Car, Classic Green Pearl on 2040-cars
Lee's Summit, Missouri, United States
This an a complete original 1997 Lexus SC400 so it will have some paint chip/scratches and slight wear on the driver seat but not ripped. This car is a great example of a time capsule and has not been restored in anyway. This is a complete well cared for adult driven Lexus all of it's life. This car has never been modified and is all original with the exception of maintenance items such as newer tires, battery, brakes, etc.. I am the third owner of the car; myself and the past owner, are car collectors and drive the car only from time to time and kept it covered and stored properly in climate controlled facilities. I just got the car out yesterday from winter storage so the pictures where taken today. I have all the owners manuals, and original window sticker, key and key fob. Back in 1997 the cars list price as $57,057.00. Everything still seem to work as it should on the car and did before I put it into storage in October of last year. This car runs and drives like a car of only 72,000 miles, smooth, tight and fast. You can tell this has only been owned by older adults and collectors. The top of the rear bumper does have a slight sun fade but does not show up in pictures. The options on the car are: Rear spoiler, moonroof, traction control, Premium sound system, 12-cd auto changer, carpet floor mats, carpet truck mat, wheel locks. The only option I don't think it had for that year was chrome wheels. The color combination is the Classic Green Pearl with Tan interior, has the gold trim upgrade on emblems. Title is clear Missouri Title in mine and my wifes name. Payment must be received before car will be released for shipment. Must have a positive rating or you must contact me before bidding. Only approved ebay payments methods will be accepted. US shipments only in 48 states. Lexus is sold as is without warranty. Thanks for looking!!!

2013 Lexus GS450h [w/video]
Tue, 09 Apr 2013An Unlikely Star in the Lexus Stable
Think about Lexus for a second. Odds are your gray matter is busy regurgitating images of the company's middle-aged RX crossover or possibly the midsize ES sedan. As the volume movers for Toyota's luxury fleet, the two are the default ambassadors for everything with an italicized L pinned to the grille, and that's a damned shame. As the 2013 GS450h is so willing to point out, Lexus engineers are busily crafting models that offer drivers more than a safe luxury choice.
As the master of fuel-sipping battery propulsion, Lexus has brought the impressive width of Toyota hybrid engineering to bear on the GS450h. The result is a vehicle that manages to sneak its hybridness by you with buttery acceleration, stone quiet operation and brakes that don't feel like you're trying walk around the house in Velcro socks. The drivetrain doesn't feel the need to beat you over the head with its battery pack or announce to the neighborhood that you're saving the world one whispery mile at a time. Both driver and passengers get to enjoy a luxury car that just so happens to be a hybrid instead of the other way around.
Lexus RC media event in Japan canceled over lack of interest
Fri, 07 Nov 2014It's a good thing senior editor Seyth Miersma doesn't live in Japan, or he wouldn't have been able to snap a photo like the one you see here, of a fresh-off-the-line Lexus RC F on hand at a first drive for media. That's because Toyota's Japanese arm has outright canceled its RC press launch. Sure, we've heard about events being delayed, but canceled? That's rare. Even worse is the reason: according to Automotive News, the event was nixed due to lack of interest. Wow.
In an email to media, Lexus said the event "has been canceled due to insufficient attendance," according to AN. The News posits that perhaps it would have just been better to hold the event anyway, in an attempt to save face, and that this is another example of the Japanese culture (especially youth) becoming less and less interested in cars. Of course, there's also the thought that local media just didn't want to drive out to Yokohama to drive the RC on a not-so-sexy press launch, which, if you ask us, is an incredibly lame excuse (do your jobs, folks!).
Either way, will this bode well for the Lexus RC's public launch? Will it receive the same lukewarm response when it arrives at Japanese dealers? We'll see.
Lexus RC F GT500 is the Super GT car Daft Punk fans will appreciate [w/video]
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Lexus Racing's booth designers at the Tokyo Auto Salon clearly loved a certain French electronic music duo when they decided to promote the new Lexus RC F racecar from the Super GT series. The Daft Punk-inpsired race team appeared ready for a pit stop in this promo photo, wearing custom double-breasted suits made from race gear as well as top hats, headphones and reflective sunglasses.
Lexus Racing showed the car in the summer when it was known as the LF-CC, but the Tokyo Auto Salon gave the public the first chance to see the renamed RC F in full race trim. It replaces the aging Lexus SC 430 GT500 car with a sharper, more aggressive racing weapon making 500 horsepower from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The RC F, Nissan GT-R and Honda NSX form a trio of new models in the top-spec GT500 arm of Super GT, as the class goes through one of its biggest changes in its history. The GT500 class and DTM in Germany are unifying their rules for the new season. The cars have the same limits on exterior dimensions and weight. The only major difference between them is that the GT500 cars are using 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines, and the DTM is using naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V8s in its cars.
