This car is in great shape. Nearly the entire service history, other than a few things over the years, was done at Lexus dealers..

If you are looking for a stock, well cared for MONSTER of an SC 400 that is a reliable, solid everyday driver that you can just get into and cruise, this is a great choice! If  my car  were a load of garbage i'd be selling it for $4000 or best off on the street in Orange County New York and would sell it in a 1/2 hour...  I know what i have here, and its worth the little bit of extra money.. if you want to come with cash and make an offer perhaps i'd be into that..

If you want an awesome car and you are on a budget this is a no brainer... Reasonable to maintain at Lexus dealers over the years, but if you want to save some money on the maintenance you can take it to any Toyota dealer as well...

I have meticulously maintained this vehicle since i bought it from Palm Beach Lexus in 2002, it had about 40,000 miles on it. Some old guy traded it into the dealership towards a new SC 430. I was lucky enough to have been servicing my 1993 Lexus ES 300, 5 speed,  and met the guy trading it in who introduced me to the salesman and the rest is history. The ES  V6 with the manual 5 speed was ok, but i really needed a V8... Doesn't everyone!?!!?

i have averaged about 300 miles per tank of gas give or take over the years, and am just driving it less and less these days, so its time to pass this gem on to someone who can handle her for the next 200,000+ miles.

Although i have been lucky enough to not have had any major problems with this car over the years, i have had every service either mandatory or recommended, done without hesitation. Every thing from  ignition coil to the timing belt have been replaced as the mileage indicated it was time to do so along with all regular maintenance and all scheduled services.

Palm Beach Lexus completely replaced and updated/upgraded the AC system when i bought it, so its still blowing cold. they also re-painted the from bumper that started peeling about 1 year ago, lasted longer than i thought (see pictures).
I had the sound system overhauled,  all in car speakers (unless i was ripped off, because i cant say 100% what is in there lol)  are JL audio & MB QUART, i replaced the 8 inch nakamichi sub with a  10 inch sub in the rear deck that is a JL also. The stock head-unit was changed to what was at the time a top of the line 6 disk Pioneer Double din unit that is still towards the top of the line today.. (see pictures)

Tires still have plenty of time on them, just need a rotation soon, i think the breaks are about 50%-60% or so, i usually have the breaks done when there is at about 15%-20% left... i have the tires rotated and oil changed regularly..

This car is in a different class than any one i have ever seen on ebay or on the road. I see these cars pushing 200,000+ miles and are usually just sorry looking sad sun damaged cars that already look broken down, but this car is solid, garage kept, drives strong and still  has the POWER!   Really!    No test drives without cash in hand. I have the title.

This is one of the few SC 400's out there that if you wanted to you can just concentrate on correcting some of  the minor flaws in its condition,  most if not all is just normal wear and tare for a car its age, but you can see by the pics the white pearl paint still pops and the spots that need attention are small and pretty minor... As you can see from the pictures the carpets, seats and interior are all pretty clean and in good shape, better than most. i have been asked many times if i had a new interior and seats installed.... but i guess it could use a shampooing. The driver seat, arm rest, and steering wheel could use some leather conditioning...  The driver seat and the console have the most wear along with the steering wheel.

What i would recommend is to buy this car, have the stock wheels chrome dipped and have the few spots that need paint professionally re-sprayed and lastly have a really good wash, wax, and a paint buffing/revitalization done... If you want to go the extra mile some of the suspension could be upgraded to more expensive high performance parts, but i really love the ride and how it drives... plenty of pull and corners and handles very well...

This car has most of the little issues and quirks & things that all the SC's have, some moisture in the driver side headlight (even though they were just both replaced with brand new ones) there is some funny business with a few lights in the dash, like the check engine light is on for no good reason, the only way to get it to turn off is to have the O2 sensors replaced, which is not necessary and would run about $1000. There are a couple little dings, nothing major, couldnt even get them to show up on the pictures, the runner on the driver side (pictured) needs to be pulled, i just dont have time... also, i know the cars looks great in the pictures but i havn,t even had it washed or cleaned in a few months, so yea paint and everything looks great!

email me if you want to see the car, of have any questions... i'll add to this description if i can think of anything else.. oh, yea, look at the pictures of the engine, i have never cleaned the engine, it is just in THAT GREAT OF SHAPE!

i had 40 really awesome pictures but could only upload 24, so that's why there are only pictures of 3 of 4 tires/wheels, not because 1 is missing or grossly damaged. The car is perfect for a turbo or supercharger!!

2016 Lexus RC 200t Quick Spin

Fri, Dec 18 2015

Cars like the BMW 4 Series, Cadillac ATS coupe, and Audi A5 exist not as volume cars, but as aspirational products designed to draw in the young and the young at heart. The humble four-cylinder turbo, offered in each car listed above, provides an accessible point of entry for lifestyle buyers that want the statement of a sporty coupe without the eagerness, fuel inefficiency, or cost of a big six-cylinder engine. Now, Lexus is throwing its hat in the ring with a turbocharged version of its polarizing RC coupe. We took the new RC 200t out for a day on the winding roads of the Pines to Palms Highway near Palm Springs, CA, and found that while Lexus' new engine will draw new customers, they probably won't like what they find. Driving Notes The RC joins the IS, GS, and NX as members of Lexus' four-cylinder turbo clan. There's 241 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque on offer here, numbers that compare favorably with the BMW 428i (240 hp and 260 lb-ft) and Audi A5 (220 hp and 258 lb-ft). None of that matters, though, because the turbocharged RC is easily the slowest car in its class. You'll struggle to keep pace with stuff like the Hyundai Veloster Turbo. The RC 200t somehow takes 7.3 seconds to get to 60 miles per hour. That's a second slower than the A5, and over half a second slower than the 4 Series or Cadillac ATS. You can't drive a car that looks as wild as this and take that long to get to 60. Blame it on the RC's 3,737-pound weight. Lexus only saved 11 pounds by switching out a 3.5-liter V6 for the 2.0-liter turbo. The BMW and Cadillac both weigh well under 3,500 pounds. Even the RC's four-door fraternal twin, the IS 200t, is 150 pounds lighter (and only takes 6.9 seconds to get to 60). The RC needs a diet, plain and simple. If Lexus truly wants to compete against the Germans and Cadillac, a snappier transmission is in order. Like the GS we talked about yesterday, the Aisin eight-speed is fine on upshifts – it's still not as fast as the 4 Series' ZF eight-speed auto – but it suffers when it's time to change down. Around town, it's less of a problem, but on the twisty mountain roads outside of Palm Springs and on the freeways, the RC's gearbox kept tripping over itself. We'd love to see what the 2.0-liter turbo engine could do in a lighter car, because it's a real charmer. The broad 1,650-to-4,400-rpm torque peak gives drivers a lot of space to play, although the RC does feel flat-footed as you crest 5,000 rpm.

Lexus has big expectations for small NX crossover

Sat, 28 Jun 2014

One has to wonder why it took so long for Lexus to enter the hotly contested compact premium crossover market. The brand itself projects some 36,000 sales for its brand-new NX, which is set to go on sale in the US in November. Add that potential to the 100,000-plus RX crossovers it sells annually in the States and Lexus looks poised to put some hurt on German rivals like Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
The vast majority of Lexus NX models imported to the States will be powered by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pumps 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque to either the front or all four wheels. Just 10 percent or so of NX models will get the 194-horsepower hybrid powertrain wrapped in NX 300h trim. Though not yet rated by the EPA, Lexus projects mileage ratings of 22 city, 28 highway and 24 combined for the turbo and 35/31/33 for front-wheel-drive hybrids (expect a one-mpg combined hit for AWD models with either engine).
In terms of sizing, the Lexus NX is dimensionally very similar to the Audi Q5, which starts at $37,300. Lexus hasn't yet released pricing information for its NX, but promises to be in the same range as its competitors. We note with interest that the larger Lexus RX starts at $40,795 - a little over $3,000 more than the Audi its NX will compete against - and wonder out loud if the Japanese automaker can undercut its German competitors in pricing with the NX. Expect official pricing info from Lexus closer to its on-sale date later this year.

Lexus LS spied wearing googly-eyed mask [UPDATE]

Tue, May 17 2016

UPDATE: Judging by this mule's dash-to-axle ratio, we think it's probably an LS sedan, not an ES as previously identified. The text below has been updated. Wow. Take a good look at those headlights! As you can see from the images in the gallery above, Lexus is hard at work on the next generation of its luxurious LS sedan. The massive appendages affixed to the front of this mule make us wonder what's going on behind those fake headlights – we'd expect some fancy LED units on the production model. Ditto for the rear, where those equally tacked-on taillights will be replaced with a fancier set with upward-sweeping light bars. Getting past the crazy eyeballs, it seems that Lexus will continue refining its current styling language with the next LS. There's sure to be a pinched Spindle grille, and a long wheelbase ought to offer plenty of space for four adult-size occupants. Whereas the IS and larger GS carry the brand's sportier aspirations, going up against the likes of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the LS will continue to be aimed at a more relaxed luxury buyer. Interestingly, our spy shooters were quick to point out that Lexus brought along 5 Series and 7 Series sedans to compare with its next LS. In any case, we wouldn't expect any significant changes to excite the enthusiast crowd. Related Video:
