Here is a beautiful 2002 Lexus SC430 up for auction, best price on Ebay hands down!  This is a corrosion free Southern California car with only 104k original miles!  There are no accidents reported on Autocheck and the title is clear.  I can provide the Autocheck just ask!   This vehicle was dealer serviced and received a new timing belt and many other service items in it's life.   The paint is very nice and you will look and feel great driving this beauty down the road.   The interior is in amazing condition and you can tell the car was babied!  Please call me at 949  2  8  5  -  8  0  1   1  with your questions!

Exterior wise, the car looks great and gets allot of looks on the road!  Like I said in my video the paint is about an 8.5 out of 10 with a few minor superficial light scratches and nics to be expected for it's age.  The body is very straight and the car looks great.   Wheels original chrome wheels look excellent with a few minor scuffs from parking and what not.   Power hard top works great and you can see it work in my video above.   Power antenna works well.  Has remote gas door and power mirrors.   Overall it's a great looking Lexus.

The interior is in excellent condition and was obviously well cared for, no foul odors and never smoked in.  The leather seats are soft to the touch and it is obvious the previous owners too meticulous care of this Lexus.    Both seats are power 7 way seats and are heated as well!    Carpet is in excellent shape, no holes or stains and the original floor mats look excellent.  Dash is perfect as well as all plastic switches, buttons and controls.  The wood trim on the center console looks perfect!   Has navigation and dual zone climate control which blows ice cold air and 6 disk CD changer!  Radio controls are on steering wheel.   Door panels are in excellent condition, power window buttons and door lock look buttons look great and the leather is beautiful.  Rear seats look brand new!  You won't be disappointed.

Mechanically, the car runs and drives excellent!  As I said, the car was serviced at the Lexus dealer all the way up to 65k miles, I have all service records including timing belt service.  Transmission shifts smooth as butter.  Steering is perfect and she drives as straight as an arrow.  It has a set of Firestone Wide Oval Runflats with around 70% remaining.  unfortunately one of them sprung an unrepairable leak so I had a new Dunlap put on.   The car is rust and corrosion free and a great driver!

Please cal me at 949  2  8  5  -  8  0  1  1  with any question.  If you need to see the Autockeck just ask and send your email address.

8 things you should know about the Lexus LC 500h powertrain

Thu, Feb 18 2016

Lexus unveiled the LC 500h today in The Netherlands, and I got to take a look inside its new hybrid system. On one hand it seems like a box of magic – it combines two seemingly incompatible transmission types into one package. But that's also the ingenious simplicity of the thing. We don't have all of the details on how it all works yet, but here's a rundown of the high points.Efficient business in front, low-key party in the back. What makes it all work is the mullet of transmissions. For the new hybrid transmission, Lexus used the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive/Lexus Hybrid System – which consists of an e-CVT with a planetary gearset and two electric motors (one for charging the battery, the other for motivation and regen) – and grafted a conventional four-speed automatic onto the back. The two units actually coexist in one package, with the e-CVT making things efficient and the automatic expanding the capabilities. So at the low end, the system can deliver more torque, and the engine can also run at lower rpm on the highway. It's all thanks to those fixed gear ratios, and it's surprisingly simple.Except it's not that simple. This is where the virtual gear ratios come in. Like current Lexus hybrids, the system has ratios it can call up with the e-CVT. In this case, there are six virtual ratios to complement the four real physical ratios, for a total of 10 "gears" at the transmission's disposal. (Not coincidentally, the V8 LC 500 coupe has a 10-speed automatic.) One of the four fixed gears is always engaged when the car is moving, so the 10 ratios come about from combinations of what the e-CVT in front and the automatic in the back are doing. In other words, all 10 ratios are variations on the four fixed gear ratios, which means that all 10 gears could be considered virtual. It won't use all the gears all the time. In Eco mode, the car will start off on electric power and skip the first couple of "gears." When it's set to Sport or Sport +, the engine will be engaged from a stop and the transmission will select the lowest ratio. The sportier modes will also ignore the top couple of gear ratios. It can drive faster with the engine off. In a Lexus GS 450h with the Lexus Hybrid System, for example, at speeds above 62 mph or so the engine has to start up. This is because something needs to take up some slack from the battery-charging motor-generator or else it will start spinning too quickly.

Lexus launching new Crafted Line special editions at Pebble Beach

Wed, 06 Aug 2014

Over the course of the past 25 years, Lexus has done one heck of a job winding its way into the luxury automobile market previously dominated by the Germans. And now it aims to take another step into the luxury arena with The Crafted Line by Lexus.
Set to debut at Pebble Beach later this month, the Crafted line offers the Storm Trooper treatment with high-contrast white paint and black trim. The interiors are done up in two-tone black and red, and Tumi has done up a special set of luggage to match.
The special edition will be available on the ES350 as well as the F Sport versions of the LS460, GS350, IS250 (in both rear- and all-wheel drive) and RX350 AWD. Each will be limited to around 1,000 examples (give or take, depending on the model), with pricing set to start at around $42,000 for the ES pictured above. Scope out the full details in the press release below.

2015 Lexus RC F Review

Wed, Aug 26 2015

Every year, thousands of people buy two-door coupes that bear the badges of BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Audi RS, and Cadillac V. These cars are powerful, fast, agile, and - if you believe the marketing - are made to kick ass on the track. But, and this is just my theory, only about 0.2 percent of these owners actually drive their cars the way the companies intended. Most buyers, I think, want the image put forth by an M4 or C63 AMG more than any dynamic abilities. These people just want to give the impression that they're out tearing up the local road course, and a $70,000 sports coupe and a pair of Pilotis are just the ticket. Which is not to say they don't use the performance of these cars, just not the full track-day capabilities. If this describes you, I recommend checking out the new Lexus RC F. This coupe is powered by a 5.0-liter V8, complete with 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. These figures, while impressive in a vacuum, are troubling when viewed alongside the competition. The Mercedes-AMG C63 tops 500 in horsepower and torque in S guise, while the six-pot Cadillac ATS-V is nearly equal on power but offers almost 60 more pound-feet of torque. And while the BMW M4 cedes more than 40 horsepower to the Lexus, the RC F doesn't feel as potent from the driver's seat. The RC F doesn't even feel as potent as less-powerful competition. This numerical deficit translates to the stopwatch, where the RC F lags behind the force-induced competition. The C63 and ATS-V both hit 60 in 3.9 seconds, while the BMW takes 4.1 seconds (these are all manufacturer estimates, by the way). The RC F needs 4.4 seconds to hit 60 miles per hour. The only vehicle in this segment that's slower is the Audi RS 5, and that's been on sale longer than all its current competitors combined. And the Audi's charms (oh, that glorious engine note) help you overlook its lack of pace. The RC F doesn't have the aging Audi's charisma, making its lack of both perceived and actual pace more glaring. I'm placing blame on this car's overbearing induction sound. It was a neat trick on the original IS F – this car's predecessor – but over the years it's just become kind of played out. At the least the noise is real, piped into the cabin via a resonator, but it sounds too artificial. And the point at which it kicks in is entirely predictable. Neither of these traits contribute to an involving driving experience.
