THIS IS A VERY NICE ORIGINAL CONDITION LEXUS LX450. I BOUGHT THIS OVER THE SUMMER TO USE AS HUNTING VEHICLE THIS SEASON. I HAVE DECIDED THIS IS REALLY TOO NICE OF A VEHICLE TO USE FOR HUNTING. IT RUNS AND DRIVES VERY WELL AND DOESN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES. EVERYTHING WORKS WITH THE ONLY EXCEPTION BEING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I THINK ALL IT NEEDS IS NEW BRAKE PADS WHICH I HAVE BOUGHT BUT NOT INSTALLED. THE DIFFERENTIAL LOCKS FRONT AND BACK WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THE POWER SEATS WORK ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AS THEY SHOULD. THE A/C BLOWS COLD. THE TIRES WERE NEW WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND THEY HAVE LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON THEM AND ARE BRIDGESTONE BRAND. THE LEATHER SEATS WERE REDONE WITH A FACTORY LEATHER KIT ON THE FRONT SEATS AND ARE IN LIKE NEW CONDITION. THE REAR SEATS AND JUMP SEATS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH ONLY A SMALL PLACE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR SEAT. THE CARPET AND FACTORY MATS ARE IN GREAT CONDITION WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE SHOWING A LITTLE WEAR BUT FOR A 1997 MODEL THEY ARE FINE. THE PAINT IS ORIGINAL AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THERE ARE A COUPLE SMALL DENTS WITH ONE BEING ON THE HOOD AND THE OTHER BEING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. BOTH ARE VERY SMALL. THE WINDSHIELD SEEMS TO BE RELATIVELY NEW AND DOESN'T HAVE ANY NICKS. I HAD ALL THE WINDOWS TINTED WHEN I BOUGHT IT. THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN GARAGE KEPT MOST OF IT'S LIFE DUE TO THE EXCELLENT CONDITION OF THE PAINT. INCLUDED ARE THE OWNERS MANUAL WHERE THERE IS QUITE A BIT OF MAINTENANCE HISTORY FILLED IN BY THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP IN GEORGIA. I WOULD NOT HESITATE DRIVING THIS ANYWERE. Satisfaction with dealer service rises, Lexus and GMC are tops

During the economic downturn, many car dealerships counteracted their slowing income by focusing on things that would set them apart from competition - things like the quality of customer service they provide. When the economy picked up and more sales and service followed, many also first invested those funds back into the business, improving their dealership facilities and service centers.
It looks like those investments are paying off, as J.D. Power and Associates' latest Customer Service Index Study shows that overall consumer satisfaction with dealer service has increased to 797 (on a 1,000-point scale), up from 787 in 2012 and 29 points higher than the score in 2011. The study also finds that people are more satisfied with the service they get at dealerships compared to independent service providers, despite the much higher average out-of-pocket cost per visit ($118 vs. $44).
Note, however, that this study only looks at how people are treated by a dealer's service department during the first three years of ownership (the survey is based on responses from 91,000 owners and lessees of 2008 to 2012 model year vehicles), so we're talking about the experience had when bringing a car in for repair or maintenance work, most likely under warranty. In fact, maintenance work is increasing in share and accounted for 77 percent of service visits (up from 72 percent in 2012 and 63 percent in 2011). This helps explain why customer satisfaction has also risen, since a properly maintained car is one that's less likely to require a dealer visit for an unexpected repair.

Lexus IS 250 to get new turbo four?

"All show, no go." That's how I described the 2014 Lexus IS 250 F Sport that you see above, when I reviewed it back in November. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to like about the new IS, but the 204-horsepower, 2.5-liter V6 in the IS 250 is not on that list. In my review, I suggested that Lexus ought to get on the bandwagon of offering a small-displacement, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine in its base IS (like its rivals), and now the folks at Motor Trend are furthering that discussion.
Lexus pulled the wraps off its new NX 200t crossover at the Beijing show recently, and it'll be the first vehicle in the company's lineup to use a brand-new - you guessed it - 2.0-liter turbo-four. With 238 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque on tap, that represents a healthy increase over the 204 hp and anemic 185 lb-ft currently being offered with the 2.5-liter V6, and we imagine the fuel economy gains will be rather significant, too. For comparison, the Lexus' four-pot power numbers are very close to the 240 hp and 255 lb-ft offered in the same-sized engine that BMW uses in the 328i.
Motor Trend also posits that Lexus may consider changing the base IS' name from 250 to 200, or perhaps 200t, to properly reflect the new engine's displacement. Of course, that's assuming Lexus doesn't pull a BMW or Mercedes-Benz, and no longer has its alphanumeric names properly reflect the size of the powerplant found underhood.

Toyota announces two recalls affecting 1M Corolla, Matrix and Lexus IS models

The recall bug strikes Toyota again. The automaker has issued a voluntary recall of three models that, in total, represent more than one million units. Around 752,000 2003-2004 Toyota Corolla and Matrix models are being recalled for airbag concerns, while a windshield wiper issue is causing the recall for close to 270,000 Lexus IS sedans from the 2006-2012 model years.
Completely unrelated to the small airbag-related recall issued earlier in the week, the Corolla and Matrix recall is caused by a faulty airbag control module that could potentially short circuit, which could lead to the front airbags or seat belt pretensioners deploying. The Lexus recall is due to a wiper arm nut that wasn't tightened properly, which can cause the wipers to not work when trying to clear heavy buildup such as snow.
