Let me start by saying this is NOT some Unknown LX470 sitting on a Dealer’s Lot…rather, it’s a well sorted Luxury SUV owned by a very conscientious individual and TLCA & TAC Member (Toyota Land Cruiser Association & Tornado Alley Cruisers). I spent quite some time searching for a properly maintained and documented 2003+ LX or 100-Series Land Cruiser to put our daughter into…finally found it and went through it stem to stern to rectify anything of question (I prefer to prevent than repair). Unfortunately, she is a little uncomfortable with its size so we have sourced a smaller MDX for her as of now. If you’re looking for the typical road weary example with a ton of miles and sketchy maintenance that can be purchased on the cheap then you can skip mine. It’s currently sitting with 91K miles and ALL Services have been kept up to date by Lexus/Toyota including the 90K Service (Timing Belt/Water Pump), oil changes, scheduled events as well as normal maintenance items. I have the complete service history to pass along to the next owner as it is documented thru the MyLexus portal. 2003 is the “first” of the “last” redesign incorporating several significant improvements…here are few worth noting: -A750F 5 speed automatic transmission w/ 4.10 LSD rear end -Engine Output Increased – drive by wire -Redesigned Dash and Console -Side Curtain Air Bags added and Fronts changed to Dual Stage -Redesigned Front Bumper/Grill -18” Alloy Wheels -Touch Screen Nav -New Steering Wheel w/ Controls built-in Within the past 2K miles the following services were completed: -90K Factory Service -TIMING BELT / WATER PUMP SERVICE -AHC (Automatic Height Control) Service & Flush -Torsion Bars adjusted to maintain proper AHC Pressures -Rear Suspension Overhaul (New Control Arms, Stab Links/Bushings, etc.) -Rear Axle and Diff Seals -New Tires – BF Goodrich Rugged Trail 275/65R18 -New Brakes Front and Rear (Pads & Rotors) -New OEM Toyota Mufflers (Forward & Aft) -Power Steering Unit Service – VGRS Calibration -Front Bumper Re-Spray (typical LX peeling problem recitified) -4-Wheel Alignment -New Battery -Diff/Transfer Case Oil Service -Synthetic Oil Service -K&N Air Filter Installed -Paintless Dent Repair – No Door Dings As with most LX470’s it comes highly optioned right out of the gate. In addition to the standard amenities, mine was ordered with every available option (sans the gaudy Gold Package): -Mark Levinson Audio Upgrade w/ Nav -Rear Entertainment – DVD -Nav Screen Mod allowing DVD to play up front as well -Lexus I-Pod Integration w/ Aux Input -Night View – Night Vision -Roof Rack with Cross Bars -Lighted Running Boards -Rear Spoiler -Rear Cargo Mat -3rd Row Seating -Sunroof -Wheel Locks -Two Sets of Floor Mats – One Set is Brand New and never used Our LX carries a clean CarFax and AutoCheck pedigree with no unusual or questionable events in its past. I’ve just “clay bar’d”, polished and waxed the exterior Galactic Gray Mica and it shines as it did when new with no apologies to be made outside of a rock chip or two. The interior shows Zero Fading or Delaminating of the wood or warps in the dash/door panel tops. The headliner is blemish free, the carpet has no staining and I have two sets of floor mats, one original and one Brand New. The Ivory leather shows the typical Lexus creasing on the driver’s seat …if you’ve looked at other LX’s or 100-Series Land Cruisers then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Also of note, I have two keys, wallet key, owner’s manuals, service documents, original sales contract and even the original delivery certificate when sold new. I know this series of truck inside and out and can assure you that this is ready to throw your family in and travel another 200K miles without concern. Every installed item works as it should and I have alleviated any and all upcoming maintenance items. The 38 Pics attached were just shot and I’ve included close-ups of any flaws worth noting. Here We Go Again: Lexus attacks EVs in new ad [UPDATE]

The last time Lexus attacked plug-in battery vehicles in an ad, it had to apologize. The company is remaining on message, though, and has revisited a hybrid-vehicle advertising campaign that implies that driving a battery-electric vehicle is a big waste of time, because of all the charging you need to do. With the new spot, Lexus once again raised hackles of plug-in vehicle advocates because, once again, the accuracy is questioned. "The ad's message was that a consumer could [drive] a vehicle with advanced technology today, without sacrifice or change in habit." – Lexus spokesman Brian Bolain Lexus is running print ads (click to enlarge) in publications like Wired poking fun at EVs, the International Business Times says. Lexus highlights range anxiety in the spot, comparing the amount of time it takes to fully recharge an EV – and the idea that air conditioning and using the radio can shorten an EV's range – to the fun of just driving a Lexus. "The [print] ad was merely intended to paint a picture of life with a hybrid, which is basically no different from life with a traditional gas-powered vehicle, versus life with an EV, which can have challenges or at least uncertainties," Lexus spokesman Brian Bolain told AutoblogGreen. "In other words, at its core, the ad's message was that a consumer could participate in driving a vehicle with advanced technology today, without sacrifice or change in habit." The campaign picks up where Lexus's previous anti-EV campaign left off this spring. A website promoting Lexus's hybrids (and parent company Toyota's H2 vehicles) claimed that there was a hydrogen refueling infrastructure set up in 20 US states (not anywhere close to true). Plug-in advocates were also quick to note that higher-powered EV recharging systems can allow a plug-in to be recharged in far less than the four hours the Lexus site claimed. Of course, Toyota has a lot more skin in the game when it comes to hybrids and, starting next year, hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles than it does for plug-ins. Through August, the company sold just 842 RAV4 EVs and about 11,500 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrids in the US. That compares to almost 19,000 Nissan Leaf EVs and a Tesla Model S count that's likely close to that figure as well (Tesla breaks out neither monthly sales numbers nor US-only sales for the Model S).
Lexus looking for performance with 600-hp LF-LC?
Sun, 27 Jul 2014Lexus has been keeping development of the production version of its LF-LC concept tightly under wraps. Last we heard, that halo GT car had received the green light for production, but that was over a year ago. Since then, things have been pretty silent. Finally though, fresh rumors about the luxury coupe are starting to leak out, pointing toward the model's powertrain lineup.
According to unnamed sources speaking to Motor Trend, the production LF-LC will eventually sport three very intriguing engine options. The base model will reportedly use a naturally aspirated V8 providing around 450 horsepower - very similar specs to the upcoming RC F. The next step up will allegedly be the upcoming hybrid powertrain shared between BMW and Toyota pumping things up to around 500 hp. Finally, a top-of-the-heap F version will use a twin-turbocharged version of the RC F's 5.0-liter V8 to bring output to 600 hp. The insiders even claim that the hybrid and the twin-turbo V8 could find their way into other Lexus products like the LS and possibly even a more beastly RC.
None of this speculation sounds too outlandish. Lexus could get more capacity out of the RC F's tuned V8 by shoving it into other models, and rumors are flying about performance cars spawned from BMW and Toyota's partnership. Given Lexus' recent embrace of turbocharging, even the twin-turbo V8 doesn't seem too dubious. That said, with no hard facts to back up the rumormill, we'll have to keep waiting to see what the LF-LC shows up with.
Cars most likely to be involved in accidents

It also shows the proportion of the drivers of said vehicles with an at-fault accident on record in the past seven years, based on Insurify’s analysis of over 4 million car insurance applications. For reference, the national average is 10.78%, and each of these vehiclesÂ’ drivers represent a statistically significant increase over that. Now, it would be easy to infer that these cars are dangerous, but such is not necessarily the case. Remember, drivers cause accidents, not cars. These just happen to be the cars that accident-prone drivers drive. YouÂ’ll notice that many are mainstream, affordable cars, often with decent crash ratings. Also keep in mind that vehicle accidents are up since the beginning of the pandemic, so no matter what you drive, please drive safely. 10. Hyundai Ioniq This affordable, electrified vehicle platform sneaks into this list with 14.45% of drivers with a recent at-fault accident on record. 9. Lexus CT Another hybrid, this Prius-powered Lexus beats the national average at 14.57%. 8. Toyota Prius V Yet another hybrid, the larger but discontinued member of the Prius family sees 14.72% of its drivers with recent accidents. 7. Mazda CX-3 The Mazda CX-3, which is discontinued for the 2022 model year, sees the accident-prone making up 14.9% of its drivers. 6. Infiniti Q60 The second and final luxury car on this list has more accident-prone drivers than average, at 14.93%. 5. Subaru Impreza The first of two Subarus on this list has 15.1% of drivers with recent accidents on record. 4. Hyundai Genesis Coupe The Genesis Coupe was only on the market for a brief span before it was discontinued and Genesis spun off into its own luxury brand. That said, it too beats the national average for accidents, at 15.29%. 3. Subaru WRX Despite its standard all-wheel drive, the boy-racer WRX has 15.44% of drivers with a prior accident in the last seven years. 2. Kia Stinger We love the Kia Stinger, and had great luck with our long-termer that graced the Autoblog garage for a year. That said, 15.75% of its drivers represent have a recent accident on record. 1. Scion FR-S This fun two-seater attracts the most accident prone drivers, with 15.87% with recent at-fault crashes.
