Hello everyone, you are looking at my one only daily ride car that I drive day to day.  When the car was 204,000 Miles, I made an appointment and took the Lexus LS400 to Sewell Lexus Service Dept in Dallas Tx, just to know what and how mush it will take to keep the car for another 15 to 20years on the road because the car had been very good to me. After Sewell Lexus service department finished with their Diagnosis on my Lexus LS400, they gave me an estimate for parts and labor  between $12,000 to $15,225.00 in order to bring the Lexus LS400 to it original conditions. They said if I do this, that will keep the car on the road at list 18 to 20years. But they said if, I would like to save money, I should buy all the original parts from Lexus and have certify Lexus mechanic outside their dealership do the works, I will probably save between 40% to 50% from their original estimate they quoted me if they do the job at the Lexus dealer. Because their labor and time is way higher that outside Certify Lexus mechanic. Then I quickly took their advice and I bought all the from top to the bottom. Every engine parts they recommended from regular belt to timing belt, water pump, wires, valve cover caskets and all front control arm suspensions, steering rack hand pin control with all bushings and all the rear control arm suspensions bushing shocks with all disc brakes pads and so on and so fort. I didn't stop until I got all the parts that I need to keep the Lexus LS400 on the road for the next 18 to 20years. I end up speeding $5,825,78 on parts alone and $2250.00 on labor. Which I end up saving almost 50% in parts and labor from the original estimate that was given to me by Sewell Lexus Service dept. Since I had all this major works done on this Lexus LS400, I just put a little over 5,000 Miles on the engine, which bring the milage to 209,593 mile at the moment. All what the car need now is to be driven for the next 18 to 20years, as long as you do the regular maintenance. Regular oil change and rotate the tires every 5,000 miles. Great tires, and rim by the way, the car is extremely clean inside and outside. Always garage kept.  I detail the car in and out buff and wax the by professional and apply a rain X on the windshield so when it rains the water will just fall off easy on the windshield. For any further informations you may contact me by email or by phone at 972 916 0890. If you like to drive back home in the car you may fly down to Dallas Ft Worth Airport or Love Field Airport to pick up the car and drive off to any where in the state or Canada. Just let me know when you are coming, I will be more than happy to pick you up from either airport.

What need to be done: Nothing, Nothing, Nothing. I wouldn't mind driving the car across State or cost to cost.

I strongly advice any one who is interested in this car to arrange for certify car inspector to come and inspect the car or would like to test drive the car before bidding, by appointment only. You are looking at 17years old car that need nothing. The car has No existing Warranty. You buy the Car As Is. The buyer is soley responsible for shipping, I don't ship cars. Please do not bid on this car, if you are not intend to invest in buying this car. Only serious buyer can contact me at 972 916 0890. Happy bidding and take care. Thanks

New Lexus ES will debut at Shanghai Motor Show

Fri, Apr 10 2015

Lexus will debut a new version of its ES sedan at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month. Don't expect it to be a total redesign, however – with the sixth-generation ES having just gone on sale in late 2012, we only anticipate a mid-cycle refresh. That's the impression we get from the teaser image above, too. The most prominent change is the reshaping of the headlamps with an LED swoosh, the overall shape of the fascia is very similar to that of the current car. The grille looks to be a bit more angular and pronounced, perhaps indicating the inclusion of an F Sport trim – something the ES currently does not have. The ES holds a unique position in the Lexus lineup. It's the only of the automaker's sedans not to be based on rear-wheel-drive architecture – the ES uses a version of the fullsize Toyota Avalon platform. That said, the ES is hugely important, with some 1.7 million examples being sold globally over the past 25 years. We'll know more when the ES officially bows in the not-too-distant future. The Lexus ES established a unique and important position in the luxury sedan segment with its elegant styling, extraordinary quality, and Lexus' best-in-class service when it was introduced in 1989. More than 1.7 million units have been sold globally over the past 25 years. The new Lexus ES maintains its classical elegance while conveying a more dynamic experience and luxurious craftsmanship. The ES will be on display April 22-29, 2015 at the Lexus booth in Hall 7.1 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center at Auto Shanghai 2015.

Lexus parts prices cut in China amidst antitrust fears

Mon, 25 Aug 2014

It's been a topsy-turvy summer for foreign businesses in China ever since that country's National Development and Reform Commission and State Administration for Industry & Commerce launched a horde of investigations into anti-monopoly practices. When the law outlining monopolistic behavior was passed in 2008 foreign companies appreciated it, expecting it to illuminate some of the more opaque corners of Chinese government enforcement. That hasn't exactly been the case, and now as more than 1,000 auto-sector firms get investigated and pay huge fines to settle the nebulous charge of having prices that are too high, that hoped-for clarity is all but gone.
A recent news report said Audi, Chrysler and Daimler "would be punished for unspecified violations" concerning the prices of spare parts. Earlier this month Toyota said that Lexus China was being looked at, and before there's been any public notification of punishment Lexus has decided to lower the price of its replacement parts. From next month, customers will save an average of 26 percent on roughly 15,000 parts. It's unknown whether the move will appease authorities enough to end the investigation, which outside analysts have said targets foreign firms in China over domestic industry.

Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?

Mon, Feb 27 2017

We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
