It was my baby for a long time and was washed and waxed on a weekly basis. There are some minor nicks on the front consistent with minor wear and tear but no substantial damage anywhere on the exterior of the vehicle. The engine runs amazing and has no issues. The only thing that needs replacing or repairing in a minor exhaust oxygen sensor. I brought it to the lexus dealership and they said there was no rush to replace it because it will not affect the vehicle at all. I've been told it can be easily replaced for $100-200 dollars, but it just came up so I didn't bother with it."

For Sale: 2002 Lexus IS300 4 door sport sedan. It has been meticulously maintained with regular visits to the Lexus Dealership during the whole time I have owned it. This car is fully loaded. It is in excellent condition and drives just as well now as when I bought it. I am attached to it, but need to sell because I need an SUV. It's been an incredible car to own and drive. I still get compliments about it to this day. No one would ever guess it's 11 years old. I've upgraded several things on the car and I'll bullet these out below. It has the E-shift and push button shifters on the steering wheel which are very fun to use.

  • Alpine IDA-x305 stereo headset - this will hook directly up to an iphone, ipod or other media player and let you control everything from the stereo deck or your iphone. This is wired into the glove box but can be easily pulled out so you can hold your iphone while it plays. Great for pandora.
  • Two JL Audio 10 inch subwoofers powered by a 700 watt Alpine Amp. These produce incredibly accurate and powerful bass. It can be hard hitting for those who like heavy bass or just right for creating crisp sound in the car. The speakers are all in great shape and still sound great. The sound in this car is one of my favorite things about it. The sound additions in the car are worth well over $1000 alone.
  • I had a Viper Security System with remove start installed ($1000) and a two way LCD screen remote that works up to a mile away. This includes: a motion sensor so if someone tries to tow your car you'll know; a microphone in the car that detects the sound of breaking glass; ability to remote start and roll down the windows before you get in (great in the summer). There is also a large flashing viper light on the dash that makes it very clear this car is well protected. I had my car broken into 3 times before I got the alarm... it hasn't been touched since and that was 4 years ago. The LCD remote will alert you if your car alarm is going off up to a mile away.
  • I am including a yakima roof rack with two bike mounts (yakima sprocket rockets) and two snowboard mounts (yakima lift ticket 6). These cost around $1000 all together and still work great. The rack goes on and comes off the car in less than 5 minutes and comes with locks on all the mounts which all work with a single key. I'm only giving it away with the car because I will no longer have a use for them as they won't fit my next car.
  • Other great things about this car:
  • it gets up and goes, you'll never have a problem passing anyone! Maybe with speeding tickets though! :)
  • Heated driver and passenger seats - goes great with the remote start in the winter.
  • All the windows (except the front windshield) are tinted - legally
  • Tired still have about 50% tread on them and I rotate them at every oil change

If you're looking for an amazing sports sedan, this is it. The IS300 is an amazing car and will no doubt provide many more years of enjoyment to its next owner. Feel free to send me any questions you have. Good luck and happy bidding.

2018 Lexus LS has a livelier look and new twin-turbo V6

Mon, Jan 9 2017

When considering that the Lexus LC 500 made it to production virtually unchanged from concept form, it was reasonable to think that the LS would similarly follow suit. Especially when the LS shares the LC's GA-L platform. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out that way. It is possible to spot cues inspired by the LF-FC concept, such as the lower contour of the windows, the crease in the metal leading up to the rear wheel, and of course the lights and spindle grille. But they're overshadowed by the fact that this LS has a significant amount more girth. View 14 Photos Just because it doesn't live up to the concept doesn't mean it's a bad looking car. It's far more interesting to look at than the dated, upright LS currently on dealer lots. It also sits quite low and the wheels and tires fill the wells nicely, which gives it a road-hugging stance. There are some nifty design details, too, such as the glass that is completely flush with the pillars. View 28 Photos As already mentioned, the new body is wrapped around a stretched version of the LC's platform, and it also uses its 10-speed automatic. Surprisingly, though, the LS doesn't use the LC's powertrain. Under the hood is a completely new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 that pumps out 415 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. That puts it down on power, but ahead in torque compared with the LC's V8. It's also significantly more than the previous LS' V8, and Lexus predicts it will be capable of a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds with rear-wheel drive. A Lexus PR representative also said the LS is only being released with the V6. We doubt it would be hard to drop one in later though if Lexus saw demand. Inside, the LS is more interesting than the outside would suggest. The dash is clearly inspired by the LC 500, utilizing a similar gauge pod with traction control and drive mode selectors protruding from each side. The dash is also dominated by a wide, dark section that houses the 12.3-inch infotainment display. Just below that, is an attractive strip of slats that follow the contours of the dash and house the air vents. Back seat passengers also will have a pleasant environment thanks to the fact that the LS will only be available in a long wheelbase form, so leg room will never be in short supply. They also will have access to available reclining seats, ottoman, and Shiatsu massage functionality. According to a spokesman, the Japanese-style of massage function is a first for the LS.

Toyota previews next Lexus RX with Tokyo-bound JDM Harrier

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

The Lexus RX shares much with the Toyota Highlander, but its more direct counterpart is the Toyota Harrrier. Never heard of it? That's because Toyota only sells it at home in Japan, and now it's revealed a new one. So if the Harrier is essentially a Toyota-badged version of the RX, then what's the big deal, you ask? The big deal is that the new Harrier which leaked in July, set to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next week and which you see here isn't quite the same as the Lexus, and those differences could (and in most cases likely will) make their way over to the RX as well.
For starters, the styling is different. Granted that the Lexus version will almost certainly get a spindle-shaped grille, but even so, the Harrier's nose seems to protrude further than the RX's and the headlamps are a notably different shape. The greenhouse is also a different shape, coming to a sharper point at the back, and the mirrors are fixed to the A-pillar not to the door panel. The taillamps are revised, the tailgate has a new profile and there's a pseudo-diffuser at the bottom of the rear bumper. Subtle changes, to be sure, but then Toyota and Lexus are known for their evolutionary approach to styling. The interior has apparently undergone some updates as well, with a more dynamically styled dashboard, a more symmetrical center stack and different seats, steering wheel, door panels... the works. The infotainment display screen has also moved further down from its position in the current RX.
Toyota will offer the new Harrier with a 2.0-liter four mated to a CVT and driving either the front wheels or all four, and a hybrid setup with a 2.5-liter married to a 140-hp electric motor. The RX is offered here with a 3.5-liter V6 either on its own or with an electric assist. We wouldn't expect Lexus to go swapping the larger engines for the smaller ones, at least not for the US market. There's plenty more to the Harrier, of course, than the similarities and differences to the Lexus RX, and if you're buying a premium crossover in Japan, you can delve into the full details in the press release below, together with the images in the gallery above.

2014 Lexus IS brings boldest design yet to entry-level luxury

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

Lexus is evidently dead serious about removing some of the starch from its collar, as evidenced by the boldly styled new IS sedan just unveiled here at the Detroit Auto Show. We didn't know what to make of Lexus' entry-level sport sedan when we first saw images of it earlier this week. Dominated by the gaping maw of a spindle grille and flanked by headlamps with Nike swoosh daytime running lamps, the photos showed a distinctive (if not completely cohesive) design. Having now seen the design in the metal, we have to admit it comes together better than it does on screen.
The new model will feature both rear- and all-wheel drive models in both 2.5-liter V6 (IS250) and 3.5-liter V6 (IS350) trims. Lexus also showed an IS300h hybrid model at the reveal, but it is earmarked for Lexus' home market of Japan, along with Europe and other markets. No word yet on why the model probably won't be sold here in North America, but our AutoblogGreen compatriots are looking into it.
Aside from its bold new look front and rear, the IS carries forward a lot of the ideas seen in other newer Lexus models, namely the GS. Hidden beneath the IS' sheetmetal is the multilink rear suspension from the GS, along with its electric power steering setup. The new IS rides atop a three-inch longer wheelbase for better rear seat room, but during our brief time sitting in the car at the press conference melee, it still didn't feel terribly roomy (it rarely does in this class). At least the seatbacks fold 60/40 for the first time for additional utility.
