2006 Lexus Gs300 Base Sedan 4-door 3.0l - No Reserve on 2040-cars
Dallas, Texas, United States
I have owned this car for the last 3.5 years (originally purchased in April 2010) and have loved it. It's legitimately one of the smoothest rides ever - effortlessly cruises at 75 mph+ on highways and is simply a luxurious ride. I specifically sought this particular model out for several reasons: 1) the 2006 model has the classic big body style and look of the newer models (2007 and up), but has the older engine model which supposedly has less power. This still has 245HP and has more than enough burst and speed. To me, this was a great area to concede on. I commute less than 10 miles a day to work - an overly powerful engine was not a necessity. 2) The prior owner: this was the personal vehicle of a manager at the Huffines Jeep Dealership in Lewisville. You could tell it was in great condition and received plenty of attention and maintenance. 3) It does NOT have navigation. Why pay an extra $2,000 for a feature that is readily available on every smartphone in the world. The iPhone and Google Maps apps are better and more user friendly than a 2006 navigation system. It still has a touch screen for radio presets, AC/Heating, etc.
I am selling the car because I have already purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm at a point in my life where an SUV is more practical for my needs. As much as I'd love to keep two cars, it would make zero sense. There is normal wear and tear that any car built in 2006 will have, but it has less than 92,000 miles and is in really good condition. Please read the disclosures for a list of issues and major maintenance I've had over the last 3.5 years. There is no warranty on the car, which I haven't really needed. The one internal issue I had were the faulty headlights and I replaced those last year.
*important disclaimer: I reserve the right to remove any bidder that has an unfavorable feedback score (zero feedback score, no purchase history, etc).
*the car is sold as-is. You are welcome to look at the car at anytime to look it over. Just schedule a time with me and I'll meet you.
If you have any questions, the fastest way to get a response is via email.

Fast & Furious' Paul Walker checks out Lexus LFA with 30,000 miles
Wed, 29 May 2013For most vehicles, eclipsing the 30,000-mile mark isn't much to celebrate. With modern vehicles fully capable of sailing right past the 250,000-mile line with just basic, regular maintenance, the wee 30k is as common as coffee.
But that's not the case for supercars like the Lexus LFA. The limited-production machines are more likely to be museum pieces than commuter cars. That's what makes the fact that Lexus has not one, but two LFA models with over 30,000 miles on the clock so special. Paul Walker recently met the dynamic duo out at Willow Springs Raceway.
Walker seems impressed with the two supercars after hammering around the Streets course, saying the ultra rare, high-mileage LFA examples feel as quick and sturdy as they did when the left the factory. Lexus says the cars have both only received their equal shares of regular maintenance. Catch the video of both cars on track below along with a few words from Walker.
Experience the New York Auto Show by drone
Fri, Apr 10 2015The Autoblog team recently returned from wildly running around the Javits Center to cover all the news and debuts at the New York Auto Show. Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW. Plus, it's a fun way to see some vehicles from a completely different angle than they ever appear on the road. Lexus considering V8 Supercars racing program
Sun, Nov 30 2014Just a few years ago, Holden and Ford were the only manufacturers competing in Australia's V8 Supercars series. But those days were left long ago in a cloud of smoke on the track, and are only disappearing even further in the rearview mirror as the latest intel suggests Lexus could be ready to enter the series as well. Speaking with CarAdvice.com.au at the local launch of the RC coupe, Lexus Australia chief Sean Hanley revealed that his office approached the race organizers to hold "very high-level discussions" about the Japanese luxury brand entering the series. The development is reportedly spurred by the warm reception the RC has enjoyed so far Down Under, and by an expected impending shift in the rules of the V8 Supercars championship. The series has been rumored to be shifting away from strictly eight-cylinder sedans to include coupes and other engine types – a move that would open the door to more manufacturers to participate, including Lexus with the RC F. Currently the field is made up of Holden Commodores, Ford Falcons, Nissan Altimas, Volvo S60s and privately-entered Mercedes E63 AMGs. Nissan, Volvo and Mercedes only joined in the past couple of seasons following the last round of rules changes. The series received "international" status from the FIA in 2011and in the past few seasons has held races in locations as far flung as Abu Dhabi and Texas to its principally Australia-based calendar. Lexus, for its part, has competed in Grand-Am, Germany's Nurburgring-based VLN series and Japan's Super GT series, but unlike parent company Toyota, has yet to embark upon a top-level racing program in Formula One, the World Rally Championship or at Le Mans.
