1997 Lexus Es300 Base Sedan 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Titusville, Florida, United States
ABOUT ME: Hello, and thank you for viewing my auction page. Before bidding please review my feedback. My last transaction on ebay left me with negative feedback that was completely false and unfair. You will notice that it has been three years since I have listed anything on this site. I urge you to review my feedback prior to that as a seller and make your bids based on that confidence. I have never falsely advertised or misrepresented anything I have sold. I am not out to cheat any one as I am also a consumer and expect the same treatment and respect. Please bid only if you are a serious buyer. I welcome and encourage you to come view this item prior to bidding to validate my description. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me either by email or you may call me. I also offer 100% refund on your deposit if the said item is falsely advertised. I received negative feedback on the last sale because the buyer had asked me to fix the A/C for him(which was stated in the sale as car not having a/c). Out of good faith,I agreed and spent $800 out of my own pocket to replace the A/C in a $1400 20 year old vehicle. He changed his mind and expected me to refund his $300 deposit. This landed me with the completely unfair and untrue negative feedback. Please understand everything I list is as accurate as possible. I personally drive my vehicles and do not list them until I have had a a few weeks to "get to know them". Anything missed might be a small scratch or minor ding that I did not see. Bid with confidence as I am only trying to rebuild my positive reputation on ebay after the last incident. I am a small dealer in Florida and I buy and sell vehicles that I have driven personally for a few weeks to ensure any issues are noticed and disclosed. I DO NOT SELL JUNK VEHICLES. If I end up with a junk vehicle, I send it straight to a dealer auction. BEFORE BIDDING: PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO COME LOOK AND TEST DRIVE THE CAR. BRING A MECHANIC IF YOU WISH. I REQUIRE A $300 DEPOSIT FROM THE WINNER IMMEDIATELY AFTER AUCTION ENDS. THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO MY TERMS THEN PLEASE DO NOT BID. THIS IS MY OWN PERSONAL VEHICLE AND HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY SINCE 2000. MY FATHER PASSED IT DOWN TO MY SISTER AND THEN DOWN TO ME. DESCRIPTION: 1997 Lexus ES300. This car has been in our family since 2000. We are the second owners and it has been wonderful. It has 217K miles but runs and drives excellent. The A/C is ice cold. Power windows, locks, mirrors, sunroof. Its definitely in below average shape in the cosmetics department. The paint has faded in some areas and it has multiple scratches/small dings. The front half has remained the original gold color while the rear of the vehicle has turned to a silver color. very strange since the car has never been wrecked or painted. All original doors, hood, trunk lid, fenders with original factory vin stickers. The interior is in fair shape. The leather is torn on the side of the driver seat where your back rubs up upon entry to the vehicle. The rear bench seat has a couple of tears. The driver side mirror is broken off but I do still have it to reattach. There is a slight valve tap thats unnoticeable unless you really listen closely. The engine is mechanically sound, powerful and very smooth. Engine and transmission are in excellent working order. Over all its a very reliable vehicle that will offer many more years to the next owner. Ray Victory Lane MotorSports, LLC 321-225-9230 |

BMW tops Consumer Reports 2023 Brand Report Card
Thu, Feb 16 2023Feels like we wrote about Consumer Reports' 2022 Brand Report Car and 10 Top Picks a few weeks ago, but it was last April. So the mag is back with a ranked roster of 32 brands and 10 vehicles in four categories for your debating pleasure. Starting with the brands, last year's top three were Subaru, Mazda and BMW. This year, the Munich crew climbed two spots to win the prize thanks to "Superb road test scores and solid results in CR’s reliability and owner satisfaction surveys." Subaru narrowly fell to second, maintaining its four-year run in the top three. Mini, eighth last year, jumped five spots to get the last step on the podium. The rest of the top 10 were Lexus (up one spot from last year), Honda (down one spot from last year), Toyota (up three), Genesis (up 12), Mazda (down six), Audi (down three) and Kia (up eight). The magazine and testing outfit says its Brand Report Card "[reveals] which automakers are producing the most well-performing, safe, and reliable vehicles based on CRÂ’s independent testing and member surveys," and that "Brands that rise to the top tend to have the most consistent performance across their model lineups." Last year's top 10 had six automakers from Japan, three from Germany (giving Mini credit for England), none from the U.S. or South Korea, and five luxury brands. This year's list counts five makes from Japan, two from Germany because Porsche fell out of the top ten, two from South Korea, still none from the U.S., and four luxury brands. Buick again ranked as the best domestic, dropping to 12th after being 11th last year. The big mover was Lincoln, its 10-place jump up to 16th attributed to better reliability from the Corsair and Nautilus. Tesla's improved overall reliability saw it climb six spots to 17th. Dodge climbed one spot to 15th. Jeep got out of the penalty box in last to come second-to-last. Land Rover fell three places into the penalty spot. CR's top 10 vehicle models The 10 Top Picks list is practically a new list. Only two holdovers made it to 2023, those being the Subaru Forester and Kia Telluride.
Satisfaction with dealer service rises, Lexus and GMC are tops
Thu, 14 Mar 2013During the economic downturn, many car dealerships counteracted their slowing income by focusing on things that would set them apart from competition - things like the quality of customer service they provide. When the economy picked up and more sales and service followed, many also first invested those funds back into the business, improving their dealership facilities and service centers.
It looks like those investments are paying off, as J.D. Power and Associates' latest Customer Service Index Study shows that overall consumer satisfaction with dealer service has increased to 797 (on a 1,000-point scale), up from 787 in 2012 and 29 points higher than the score in 2011. The study also finds that people are more satisfied with the service they get at dealerships compared to independent service providers, despite the much higher average out-of-pocket cost per visit ($118 vs. $44).
Note, however, that this study only looks at how people are treated by a dealer's service department during the first three years of ownership (the survey is based on responses from 91,000 owners and lessees of 2008 to 2012 model year vehicles), so we're talking about the experience had when bringing a car in for repair or maintenance work, most likely under warranty. In fact, maintenance work is increasing in share and accounted for 77 percent of service visits (up from 72 percent in 2012 and 63 percent in 2011). This helps explain why customer satisfaction has also risen, since a properly maintained car is one that's less likely to require a dealer visit for an unexpected repair.
2018 Lexus LS First Drive | Luxury, performance and the puzzling parts
Wed, Sep 27 2017When one imagines the enormous executive sedan that might be driven by a wealthy lawyer or banker (or their chauffeur), the mind naturally goes to the Mercedes S-Class or the BMW 7-Series. Venerable, enormous and expensive. But for those wanting to keep their driveway a little more understated, we also have the Lexus LS. Sure, it's not as ostentatious as the big saloons from Munich and Stuttgart, but it has a dignified elegance all its own. For nearly three decades, the LS has been a discrete and dependable Japanese luxury sedan. The new 2018 LS, perhaps thankfully, is a bit less discrete. We saw the new-look LS when it was introduced earlier this year in Detroit. Now we know how it drives. We put the 2018 LS through its paces on the traffic-clogged streets of San Francisco and over the Golden Gate Bridge to the twisty B-roads around Marin County and the legendary Skywalker Ranch, where we stopped for lunch. Unfortunately, all in attendance were sworn to secrecy about the details of Skywalker Ranch, but we're free to tell you all about the LS. Here's our one-sentence summary, which can be used to describe many cars to bear the Lexus badge: It's excellent in many respects, odd in a few, and incredibly, massively frustrating in one very important area. Lexus has a brand new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, a first for a premium passenger car. It produces 416 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, up from 386 hp and 367 lb-ft from the outgoing naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8. Lexus engineers are extremely proud of the fuel efficiency of the new engine, which required some clever technical innovations (a longer bore stroke and increased valve angle) as well as tech borrowed from Formula One, including a "laser clad valve seat" that allows for a more direct flow of air into the combustion chamber and a high "tumble ratio." In other words, Lexus figured out how to get more bang out of each gasoline-powered buck. Fuel economy numbers are 19 city, 29 highway, and 23 combined for the RWD version and 18/27/21 for AWD, with the highway numbers particularly helped along by the 10-speed gearbox. It's a torque converter unit, but Lexus promises shift times that rival its dual-clutch-wielding competitors. The LS is no slouch, either. In RWD trim, the nearly 5,000-pound car hustles from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds, according to Lexus' reckoning.
