Very well kept 2009 Lexus RX350. We are the second owner. Vehicle is from the Ft Worth area. We purchased the car from Sewell Cadillac in Grapevine Texas, (suburb of Ft Worth). Sewell is a large highline dealer here in Ft Worth Dallas area. They also have 3 Lexus stores. I think the car was originally purchased from Sewell Lexus, should say on the vehicle report. We have had the car for about a little over a year. My wife is a local Realtor, we needed it for her signs. She has gone with another agency that has a sign service, so we really don't have the need for an SUV any longer. The previous owners, and, ourselves were nonsmokers .The interior is pristine, for the age, I'm having it detailed today, just for the carpets mainly, leather seats are in great condition,b carpet just had normal wear, just looks better detailed for the photos. When we bought it the dealer had painted 2 small spots, rear bumper scratch, and down low on right quarter pillar. The salesman said the prior owners had someone back into the front bumper, I believe they replaced the bumper cover. This may show up on the history report, I really can't remember. The dealer used car fax, but as I said I can't remember. No major damage ever. This is a great little SUV, this is our third Lexus, you cannot beat these cars for reliability, and comfort. We are taking over my daughters 2007 Lexus ES 350, she has changed jobs and is not making as much money, so we're getting her a little less payment car. This is a nice car folks, with a ton of life left. We did not purchase the extended warranty on this car, but I believe you could purchase one from Lexus. I am with the railroad, so we have a strict no cell phone on duty policy, so if you phone me with any questions please be patient with me, I'll return the call as soon as I can. The car has normal small scratches for the miles and age. The mats didn't come out as good as I had hoped on the detail, but I can work with you on that. I have described the condition of the vehicle to the best of my knowledge, please feel free to phone me with any questions you may have, 817-975-4902. Thanks for viewing my listing, and HAPPY BIDDING. This vehicle will be for sale locally, I reserve the right to end auction at any time.

Lexus eschews production in China over quality concerns

Sat, 03 May 2014

One of the more popular trends in the auto industry is setting up production operations in China. Mainstream manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen have done it, and even luxury marques like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have or will soon have manufacturing ops in the People's Republic.
One company that isn't building cars in China, though, is Lexus. The Toyota-owned luxury brand still manufactures all of its vehicles in Japan (aside from a few RXs, which are built at a Toyota factory in Canada). According to Tokuo Fukuichi, Lexus just isn't ready to build cars there yet.
"The German Three have a brand image that they have cultivated over the past century in their long history, but Lexus is not in people's minds like that yet," Fukuichi-san told Reuters UK.

A replacement for the Lexus CT 200h is due to arrive in 2021

Fri, May 3 2019

On the hunt for a reasonably priced gas-electric hybrid-powered compact, but want something a little nicer than the oddity that is the Toyota Prius? You probably remembered that Lexus made the CT 200h. That's made, as in the Prius platform mate was discontinued in 2017. But word on the street is that Lexus is working on a replacement, according to Autocar in the UK. The outlet spoke to Lexus Europe's head honcho, Pascal Ruch, at the Geneva Motor Show recently, who shed some light on the matter. According to the report, a new CT 200h is set to arrive sometime in 2021 and will be built on Toyota's latest TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) modular platform. TNGA these days underpins a majority of Toyota's current models, from the new Camry, to the new Corolla, the current Prius, and even the new RAV4 and Highlander. But what isn't so clear is whether the CT 200h will keep its hatchback body style. A few years ago, we even heard the CT 200h could be replaced by a hybrid crossover. But nothing's confirmed. The original CT 200h used Toyota's old "New MC Platform." When new at the time, it underpinned many models from the third-generation Toyota Prius and Prius V, to the last Scion tC, Scion xB, the outgoing Toyota Corolla, the previous Toyota RAV4, and many other JDM-specification Toyota models. The CT 200h also pretty much utilized the same 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE inline-four and electric motor hybrid powertrain as the Prius. It also produced the same total 134 horsepower and 153 pound-feet of torque. Despite being discontinued in the U.S. two years ago, Lexus continued with the CT 200h in Europe, where it sold, but modestly. And despite not being too hot of a seller here stateside as well, Lexus is adamant about keeping it in the portfolio as the automaker continues to push for more fuel-efficient hybrid models. Over the long-term, Lexus plan hopes to boost its global market share of hybrids to 50%. "Europe has a great strategic importance for Lexus because it's seen as a leading region for technology and design," Ruch told Autocar in its interview. "Our hybrid sales are highest in Europe, China and Japan will electrify [internal combustion engines] and the wider U.S.

Lexus LFA owner gets town to remove speed bump

Fri, 17 May 2013

What do you do if you have enough money to buy a Lexus LFA but can't get the car safely to your house? Get local government involved, of course. Rune Berge Vik, of Stavanger, Norway, did just that after he bought a Lexus LFA (the only LFA in the Nordic region according to tv2.no) last year only to find out that it could not clear a speed bump in his neighborhood.
To remedy the situation, Vik got in touch with his city, which had the speed bump removed. Talk about your tax dollars hard at work. On the other hand, it's commendable that the man actually uses his supercar as a daily driver, and besides, doesn't a street-legal car have the right to access said public streets?
