This vehicle is in excellent condition. I'm selling it simply because I need a smaller car. No kids, no pets, no smokers. I have the majority, if not all of the maintenance records. Most of the maintenance was handled at a Certified Lexus Dealership. Mechanically, I have never had a problem with this car...never. Front tread is 60%, rear tread is 80%. Brakes are good. The paint looks great, a couple blemishes but water still beads and there is no rust. The interior is great as well. The driver seat is really the only part of the car showing its age. This car one typically only driven by one person. I know this because the original owners where my parents. No rips or tears in the leather. The dashboard on the passenger's side has an area where it is cracking. The passenger seat looks great and the rear seats looks new. Headliner untouched and cargo area has no stains. Auto dimming mirror with compass, heated side view mirrors, heated front seats, sunroof, all automatic power windows, reclining rear seats, power front seats, roof rack, rain sensing wipers, automatic lift gate, grocery shade, cruise control, leather seats, snow mode, illuminated Lexus door sills, HID auto leveling lights, wooden accents, and last but certainly not least...a cup holder for everyone in the car, 'cause who likes holding their Blizzard between their legs? Production Lexus NX leaked in Jim Lentz presentation?
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Before kicking off the Detroit Auto Show, the Society of Automotive Analysts had Toyota CEO Jim Lentz come on stage to say some words about the future of the auto industry, as well as what's coming for Toyota. While this type of information would normally stay off our radar, a video of his speech likely gives us our first look - albeit low-res - at the production version of the Lexus NX compact crossover.
In the video recorded by AmericaJR, Lentz refers to the turbocharged LF-NX Concept that was on display at the Tokyo Motor Show, but comparing this image to our gallery from Tokyo, there are clear differences between the two vehicles. These include the toned-down shape of the spindle grille, lower fascia crease and door mirrors as well as a headlight design that more closely resembles that of the 2014 IS sedan and the newly introduced RC coupe. From what we can see of the rest of this image, the NX should retain some of the LF-NX's angular side body creases. The vehicle you see above basically looks ready for production.
If this is in fact the NX, then reports of a Geneva debut for the luxury crossover seem even more accurate. The entire video is posted below, but the NX comes on screen around the 10:40 mark.
Toyota profits up 23% on high US sales, despite mounting legal costs
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Toyota earned $9.3 billion in net income in the financial year that ends next month. The number beats earlier forecasts and marks a five-year high for the automaker, with both operating income and revenue up by 9.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. Toyota saw quarterly profit enjoy a year-on-year jump of 23.4 percent, with the manufacturer earning more than $1 billion between October and December 2012. The good news comes in spite of the fact that the Japanese automaker actually endured an operating loss in North America, due in part to legal fees.
Toyota is set to pay more than $1 billion to owners who claim their vehicles decreased in value as a result of the company's recent spate of recalls. Even so, all three of the automaker's brands enjoyed a 13.5 percent sales increase in the US in the last quarter, beating the industry average. Toyota faltered in Europe, however, where it earned $99 million in operating profit last year, compared to $111 million in 2011. Lexus NX begins production in Japan [w/videos]
Fri, 15 Aug 2014Lexus entered new territory this past April when it revealed the new NX compact luxury crossover at the Beijing Motor Show, but it wasn't until now that the Toyota luxury division actually started building them. The first production examples started rolling off the assembly line last week at the Miyata plant in Japan, with the accompanying turbo engines built at the adjacent Kanda plant.
The arrival of the NX marks both the first time that Lexus has produced a compact crossover - an increasingly important segment for luxury automakers - and the first time Lexus has offered a turbocharged engine, one of two options alongside the hybrid version. The NX builds on two previous competences exhibited by Toyota: one is the RAV4, which pioneered the compact crossover segment back in 1994, the other being the Lexus RX that was among the first luxury crossovers when it arrived in '97.
Lexus reports that it has already taken some 6,500 pre-orders in Japan alone, with many more coming in from markets around the world - including ours, where it is sure to be a key player for the Japanese automaker alongside the hot-selling RX.
