This vehicle has been driven by my mother since we purchased it new from Lexus of Tampa Bay in 1996. Every service has been performed on time or early at the same dealership and all records are readily available. It does have some paint chips clearly depicted in the detailed photos. The vehicle is in beautiful overall condition as it really has mainly had one passenger and therefore you can see the interior has little wear. The mileage is 85% highway and the vehicle shifts and drives very smoothly on a brand new set of Michelin tires installed recently at Lexus of Tampa Bay. Please note how clean the engine compartment is. AC and heat work flawlessly. The vehicle is in such good shape that two of the people in service are very interested in this vehicle. As with many Lexus and Toyota Land Cruisers from this period, the front seats no longer move back and forward. This seems to be a common problem which can be solved by those who are more handy than I as a "do it yourself" project replacing a couple of gears. The seat can be adjusted permanently at Lexus for $450 or you can opt to change the motor for a total of $1,100 including labor per seat. I am certain this could be done more reasonably by using salvage parts and a Toyota specialist. As mentioned this is a common problem and has been addressed on many blogs on the internet. I have attached a link below which discusses the "fix" and those who have elected to complete the task themselves.

The LX 450 is powered by a 4.5 liter, twin-cam, four-valve inline-six engine which produces 215 hp and 275 lb·ft of torque. Both front and rear axles are solid. Externally, the LX 450 is largely identical to the J80 series Land Cruiser, with the exception of the grille, side body cladding, and wheels. Side running boards allow step-up access into the vehicle's cabin. The vehicle is also fitted with additional sound-absorbing insulation. Onboard amenities included leather seats and seating capacity for up to seven passengers in three rows (2 of which were rarely used and show as new) of seating. The third row seat is accessed by tilting the second row bench seat forward. The third row itself could be folded to the side for more cargo area, and the second row seat could fold down for further space. The vehicle also came pre-wired for the Lexus remote telephone system, and is equipped with a remote entry key system. This vehicle has the optional console-mounted 6-disc CD changer, and a power moonroof. Because GPS was not an option we did add the aftermarket Garmin system which we will include with the original manuals though it hasn't been used in some time and is not powering up. We will also include the full set of keys and the books that came with the vehicle including the towing attachment. At the time of its sales debut in early 1996, the LX 450 sold at a $7,000 price premium over the Land Cruiser. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are glad to provide more detailed photos if there are some that are difficult to gauge. This vehicle is in unbelievable condition given its age. Admittedly a few of the chips have come as of late because my mother moved into a condo where the parking spots are a bit less forgiving than the garaged she was used to. The only reason we are selling this vehicle is that it has grown difficult for my 92 year old grandmother to climb in and out. This car has been pampered`and always garaged since new. It was recently fully clayed and detailed at a cost of almost $500 and is started daily but no longer being driven. Best of luck and if you have been looking for a great example of these highly sought after SUV's this one will not disappoint.
Questions: Q: Would you please send me or add to the ad a photo of both of the differential lock switch to the left of the steering wheel and the vehicle identification sheet affixed to the driver's door which shows the production date and codes. I am very interested in this vehicle. Thanks A: Apologies but we aren't able to add more photos to the listing as we exceeded our limit at 24. We will gladly send you these photos and answer any questions you may have. This vehicle does not have front and rear locking differentials. Thanks so much for catching my error!!
Q: | I was wanting to see if you could tell me more about the accident that is listed in the auto check report? Does the the vehicle have any oil or fluid leaks or check engine light codes? Also could you email me a couple more pictures, specifically of the label on the inside of the drivers door with the VIN and transmission codes and also underneath of the front axle knuckles. My email address is ... Thanks, Sean | Feb-24-14 | A: | Thanks for your questions and taking a look at our listing. The accident was a very minor impact at low speed to the rear passenger side of the vehicle. There was a very minor repair that was completed at Lexus of Tampa. I am trying to load more photos as they have been requested but ebay limits us to 24. If I am unable to upload I will gladly email to you later today. There are no leaks whatsoever and all of the electronics and lights work perfectly. The check engine light is not on. Could you help me understand "underneath of the front axle knuckles"? Forgive me but my automotive knowledge doesn't run too deep. |

Another month, another car pack for Forza Horizon. This time it's the Recaro Car Pack featuring a motley gang of cars and trucks: the 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500, 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R, 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV, 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR, 2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition and 2012 Lotus Exige S.
It'll be up for download on Xbox Live on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 for 400 MS Points. As usual, if you have the Forza Horizon Season Pass you can get them all free, and Season Pass holders will also get a bonus car that's not pictured: the 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster.
The Pagani is everything opposite to that Vandura, but while you might not ever win anything with the van, you can always use the back of it as a place to give out free hugs. Check out the video and press release below for more details.

There's been a lot of news regarding future Lexus products recently, including spy shots of new RC coupe and NX compact crossover, and reports that a 2+2 coupe based on the LF-LC concept is heading for production. Now, Automotive News says that Japan's #1 luxury automaker is planning to replace the fullsize, body-on-frame Lexus GX SUV with a three-row crossover called the TX.
The article says that the GX, which is based on the foreign-market Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, will get a styling update for 2014 before being phased out in 2016. In a similar move as Infiniti made with its new three-row JX/QX60, the new TX will be car-based, but details are still unknown as to whether it will be front-wheel-drive riding on the Toyota Avalon platform or rear-wheel-drive using the Lexus GS platform. Either way, this new luxury crossover could join the Lexus lineup as soon as late 2016.

Google has pledged to release monthly reports on the status of its self-driving car program, and says these updates will include information on accidents involving the vehicles. But the company won't release the actual accident reports, a sore point for activists who recently have clamored for the company to be more transparent in the way it tests this promising technology on public roads. "Google is dribbling out bits of information in the hope to silence legitimate calls for full transparency," said John Simpson, privacy director for Consumer Watchdog, a nonprofit that has asked Google to release reports from the 12 accidents the company says it has been involved in over the past six years. "They are testing on public roads, and the public has a right to know exactly what happened when something goes wrong." Under California law, the accident reports are not considered public records. Google has attributed all accidents to human error, and says drivers of the other cars involved caused 11 of the 12 accidents. In eight of those, the Google cars were rear-ended, and the autonomous vehicles were sideswiped in two other crashes. One of the accidents occurred at an intersection when a human driver failed to yield at a stop sign, and in one incident, a Google driver accidentally rear-ended another car while manually driving. Google had previously provided those details. The first monthly report installment sheds new light on which types of self-driving vehicles were involved, directions of travel, locations, and whether the cars were operating in autonomous or manual mode. Update: Google says this information comes directly from the OL 316 forms used to report accidents involving autonomous cars in California, though it has "edited the summaries lightly to protect other drivers' information." But Google still will not release the original OL 316 forms, nor the "traffic collision report" forms used in California to report accidents. Another company that has been involved in a single self-driving car accident, Delphi Automotive, has released this information, which verified its car was not at fault. Regarding Google, Simpson said, "We now know a few more details of what happened. The problem is that it's Google's version and they want us to take their word for it." The Google self-report adds information that goes beyond accidents, with further details on the company's overall program.
