I am buying a new LX and have decided to sell my 1999 lx470. I have owned it since 2002 and have always done all the maintenance. Always have used Mobil 1 synthetic. Its pearl white with tan interior. Never in any accidents. No one can believe its even a 1999, thats how clean it is. It has all the options for the year including Nakamichi audio, rear climate control, roof rack, running boards and rear entertainment. Sometimes when its cold out there is a minor exhaust leak, dealer said its common in all LX and landcruisers prior to 2002 so never bothered to fix it. Front brakes were done recently as well as differential flush and transmission fluid change. Title is on hand. Im currently driving the truck so expect a few extra miles on it. J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
'Next Lexus F' teased ahead of Detroit debut
Mon, 09 Dec 2013We've got absolutely zero actual information from the automaker on what its "Next Lexus F" will be, other than what was just released today in this brief press release and lone teaser image, but our best guess is that it's the next-generation IS-F sedan. The timing would make sense, considering that the latest IS just hit the market earlier this year as a 2014 model.

Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW.
